- In 2004, Tom and Jackie Hawks were selling their yacht, The Well Deserved. They were planning on selling it to former child actor Skylar Deleon no less. However, when they took him and friends out on it for a test sail, Tom and Jackie Hawks would disappear, and the search to find them would begin.

I do not normally support the death penalty but there are certain cases, like this one, when I have no sympathy and feel it is deserved. Bundy was another one because he was not only evil but he was an escape artist.

I'm crying for Tom and Jackie. They missed out on their grandchildren's lives that they were so looking forward to be a part of. All cut too short because of these evil people.
This is one of the most horrible murders I’ve ever heard of. The fact that they were alive and got thrown overboard handcuffed to an anchor so they drowned. Ugh heartbreaking. They just wanted to sell the boat to be near their grandkids.

@Joe Exotic I'm not trying to justify his action he got fully what he deserved, but becoming a good person after you had a rough childhood makes u really unique and strong person which not everyone is able to do that. All I'm saying is that more people could comment about the bad parents part too because that's the root of this evil because if you are not gonna guide your child in the right path someone in the street will guide them for you so people should be aware of how important parenting affects a child's success in life otherwise we gain nothing from this video if all we do is comment hate on crime that involved violence/death.

What a despicable group of people to do this to a defenseless older couple. If there is a brutal way to die, that is it. Tying someone to an anchor and dropping them in the ocean may be the most cruelest way I’ve ever heard in my life to kill someone. IMO they all deserve the death penalty immediately.

I know why this case hits harder than a lot of others, because it shows true love. Hear me out, even on this channel there are stories about husband killing wife, wife killing husband, children killing parents and parents killing kids, but this two victims were loyal to each other till the end, they were good people that earned what they had and wanted to settle down for grandchildren. It is really sad.
1 missing detail here. The notary public only fessed up AFTER she was caught in a lie. Her description of Jackie matched her driver's license photo.... Jackie had cut & dyed her hair since that photo was taken years prior.

I remember watching this in a documentary and hearing how just as they were about to die his wife was sobbing and her husband was calming her down by repeatedly telling her “I love you, it’s okay I love you.” He had known for a while that were gonna die so he was trying calm his wife. Broke my heart!

Yea, in Tom & Jackie's home movies you could just feel the love they had for each other. When Tom was talking about seeing Jackie after 2 weeks & said he couldn't wait to see her. When Jackie came back after the two weeks & came out saying hi honey & it's so nice to be home. It definitely makes the whole thing more tragic when you see that kind of love. 🥺

Tom , in my eyes is absolutely what I think of as a perfect example of a man. His handsome masculinity combined with a happy disposition. The very best part was his sweet loving way with his wife and family. Sorry for your loss ❤️

Watching the home videos he took of himself, I get such strong dad vibes from him. Like I just want to give him a hug. He reminds me of my own dad in a way, which made this even harder to watch. Heartbreaking.
This one hits me really hard. You can tell they were such happy, loving people. You could tell they were hard workers and didn’t have everything handed to them. All those years of working hard for some trash to take it away.
U forgot to say how skylars wife was offered immunity but she refused to talk.. so now she's in for life ..GOOD

Anyone who has dealt with notaries knows that it's impossible for a notary to pass documents like that without the presence of the owners, it would be just dumb because the owners would eventually clame their property, (beware! notaries have scammed people but when they do they absolutely know the consequences, so they escape or something) this notary knew they were going to murder them and the documents they forced them to sign were prepared by her IN ADVANCE! she should have been sentenced to life in prison, her collaboration in this crime was necessary for these criminals to execute their plot. Does anyone know if she was charged?

Saw this case on Mr Ballen, and I wanted to see how you presented it. Knowing how it ends, didn't make it any less tragic.

Man i've watched a lot of your vids, but this one hits hard, something about them working hard to live the life they wanted just for it to be taken by people who aren't worth the oxygen they were breathing.

This is an old case but I still find it hard to believe how such a depraved and selfish act was committed on two such lovely people. The loss their family endured was tragic to say the least.

Confessing to money laundering to distract from a possible murder charge is quality idiocy.
This one is particularly sad given you can see just how much Tom and Jackie loved each other through their own vids.
This has to be the saddest story of the hundreds of videos I've watched so far! Like....... it's hard to even process and describe the pain I felt watching this. This couple was living the dream that many of us wish to live in retirement. They were happy, worked hard, earned their lifestyle, loved their children and even became grandparents. Tom was a real stand up guy that raised him boys by himself. A true inspiration in my eyes. All they wanted to do was sell their yacht and live the rest of their lives taking care of their grandchild. And now...... they will never see their family again or even be brought home because of this maniac! Once I heard that they were tied to an anchor that was tossed into the ocean I cringed. That is by far one of the most horrible ways to go. It's truly heartbreaking because no one knows how deep the ocean actually is, but it's so deep that the bodies couldn't ever be recovered. All 3 of the guys should have been tied to an achor and tossed into the ocean as well; as their death penalty, so that they can experience the horror that they put this couple through for no reason! I'm sorry but a lethal injection isn't enough. To be peacefully put to sleep after something like this isn't enough!

Jackie seems like the mom of one of your friends who you feel like is your second mom. I don’t know why, but she just seems so welcoming and warm... as well as her Tom. I just feel like they were the kind of people you could have fun with, but also be open with. The world lost two wonderful people when we lost Tom and Jackie.

Yes that’s what I thought. Like why would you need to bring two friends with you? And Tom had been a probation officer. I’m surprised he wasn’t suspicious enough not to let them on. But the murderers are the only ones to blame. Poor couple!
I actually avoided this video for a while. When I first heard the story 10 years ago, I just balled. I could feel my heart just being crushed listening to this.
this story is the first story you covered that actually made me cry my eyes out, so so so sad they just got retired and were leaving their happy place to settle down and be grandparents, mrs hawkes never got to be a parent and for the first time she was holding a new born in her hand that was going to call her grandma. they did not deserve to die this way :( i hope they can rest in peace now that the coward is rotting in jail

Yeah, what a drawn out and scary death.
A lot of murders are sort of spur of the moment, moment of anger type things, maybe the killer even immediately regrets it after, animilistic lack of control type killings. Like a wolf giving in to its animal instincts. Or someone intoxicated or manic in some way, or on the other end - depressed. Still murder. Often brutal. But usually quick. And the killer in such cases can feel, that's even part of their problem some times, unable to control how they react to their anger, as an example.
But this case shows how a cold calculated and planned killing can be even scarier. These killers didn't murder because they gave in to strong emotions. They had no emotions. No concern. No empathy. Planned out in advance, carried out w/out regret or agitation or hesitation. All while imitating (with limited success) normal people w/normal emotions to try and get their victims out there on the boat. It would be an insult to wolves to compare this group to wolves. Not a case of instincts gone wrong, or someone going feral, but more like people w/out a soul at all.
I feel for the victims.

This one was hard to get through, man. They both seemed like genuinely good people, the one clip where he talks about shaving and her coming home, him being a single dad before marrying her, checking on the status of their grandchild every couple of days. Just hearing his voice said kindness. Freaking heartbreaking.
It's crazy how I've heard about this case but the program I watched about it didn't do nearly as good of a job as you. You make a better documentary than big TV programs.

Well that could be for a couple of reasons, big TV channels often have to get the rights to names and footage because they air it locally or internationally and are on a ratings system which ultimately brings them revenue regardless. With tv stations there are alot of protocols to go through also tv networks have time constraints where they only have a certain amount of tv time. With CZcams sure you can get copyright claimed but for the most part it's aired on a free website, sure the uploader may be getting paid but ads and sponsors take care of the legalities and make sure it's good to go. Also on CZcams he has the ability to cover a lot more of the story because he is not confined to the same time constraints as a tv network is.
But mainly it's because Mike is a better journalist than the ones who aired it previous
For anyone who questions if evil exists, this is just one perfect example that should lay that question to rest. Evil doesn't have to have some spiritual connotation attached to it. It can simply be the transformation of dark thoughts or ideas into acts that attempt to destroy a source of light in this world. This beautiful couple was, is, and will always be a source of light, impervious to such dark evil.
Something about seeing the conversation about Skylar murdering them overlayed with the footage of the couple makes me cry terribly. Seeing how full of life they were, how happy they were... only to be killed in such a cruel, painful, terrifying way.

Listen to your gut! Tom felt suspicious when he first met the "buyers" and knew something wasn't right. If you catch a bad vibe don't ignore it, it could cost you everything.

Especially alone out at sea. It's like being on another planet. Nowadays, when we sold ours, we were told to have a trusted friend on ANOTHER boat accompany us when taking strangers out for a test drive.
Then why would he let that big gorilla go with them on the boat?
This is one of the most horrific deaths I’ve ever seen, and I’ve followed true crime very closely in the past decade, it’s to the point now where I’m rewatchjng several cases on different channels.

I've following this for many years. How diabolical, heartless of these evil bastards and bitch. Can you imagine his wife saying no to a deal that would have given her immunity if she testified for the prosecution against the P.O.S. she was married to? And by not doing that she gets life with no parole.
Yeah, the Hawks died helplessly watching each other drown, their bodies inevitably consumed by whatever innocent aquatic life happened to come by. And why? All because some psychotic freak and *his* cronies disagreed with biology. Now Tom's sons are robbed of people who appeared to be a great dad and a a great stepmom and would have been great grandparents, plus Jennifer's kids get to grow up knowing their mother/parents were involved in this.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu they were tied to an anchor and dumped into the deepest part of the ocean. I think their internal organs “exploded” before they drowned. That anchor probably took them down faster than drowning and the body can only survive so far before the pressure kills you alone. This was a horrific way to die. I wouldn’t wish it on Nancy Pelosi and I REALLY don’t like her.

It took me decades to learn about my grandfather's time as a Feild Surgone during WWII. It worth the wait, but only to learn why he felt the way he did, as it included why they sorted casualties into three categories, those we can save, those we can't save, and those we shouldn't save*. [and worse]

@@seannoble8948 The only person I know who talks about that does so because he is deeply traumatized and suffers from ptsd. He is torn between the good times he had with his fellow soldiers and the bad things he had to see and do.
Thank you for this episode. Mr Hawks was my probation officer in the 90's. He was a Martial Artist of the black degree and had many awards posted on his walls.
I was so surprised to learn of his death years ago and have thought of his case often.

So incredibly heartbreaking. Seeing two people with so much light and life in them being destroyed by such evil parasites. There's just a bit of comfort in knowing that Tom and Jackie spent their last years loving each other and living life to its fullest on their dream boat. And yet the grim realisation hits you over and over again whenever you think of how much love they still got to give to their family over the years that were stolen from them by Skylar's death squad. I'm shaken to the core and this story will stay with me for a long time.
It's so hard to understand how any single person can be so cruel. But it's especially bizarre that SO many people can get involved with something so horrible. Really makes you wonder about all people.

This case was SO damn sad. You work your whole life, finally find love late in life, and then get murdered by punks. And, they never got to see the grand baby. Absolutely tragic. (P.S. Alonso has the longest freaking neck I have ever seen in my life.)
They got to see the baby, there is video of him holding the baby.. but he didn't get to watch him grow up which is just as bad

I hate this case so much because that couple worked hard their entire lives to buy their boat and live their dream - and that little team of pos monsters ruthlessly murdered them in the cruelest way imaginable. Just so unjust and so cruel!!

I live on a boat too! It’s a 1987 37 footer, but in VERY nice condition and it’s pretty freakin AWESOME!!! It’s truly a “mobile home” too!!! AND yes, your neighbors in the marina would ABSOLUTELY know if something was not quite right!!! We are always looking out for one another and keeping an eye on one another’s boats!!! ALWAYS!!!

They looked like they were living the dream, I smiled cause they were obviously SO happy and true happiness is such a beautiful thing and rare thing. It looked like they had it and it was stolen from them. All they wanted was to sell the boat so they could be there to see their grandbaby grow up. They would have cherished that child and that child would have cherished them. It's truly sad that their grandchildren will never meet them and learn from and how much they clearly loved life. I want to love like like they loved it.
