I stream most my music on Spotify. If a band has an album I love I’ll purchase the Vinyl when it’s available.

I pay a lot for music between CD, vinyl, and Spotify.
I wish I could ditch Spotify but it’s so convenient for discovery and playlists, plus I love the UI.

I am 100% a CD collector and when I got my newest truck about 5 years back it didn't have a CD player in it, and I was crushed. Luckily last year I managed to get a car as a daily driver and for longer trips and it's a 2008 so it does have a CD player. I keep the AUX cord in there but it's a CD playing 99% of the time. I'm just more of a Physical copy type of person. I want to buy and own the stuff to 1) actually own it & 2) support the artist better. If the internet somehow crashes 1 day, I'll be fine because I have physical music & movies to get me though. It does suck that some artists don't even bother with CD's anymore so when it comes to that I'm forced to buy it via iTunes since I don't have the luxury of endless streaming, via my data plan and even where I live. I'm 33 and I swear I really am a Boomer and "Old Man Yells At Cloud" but this is the world now.
Oh lets remember all those Target Exclusives they have, I live for those also.
Digging that idea though about the 2 month-ish pay for and get after

If anything I'd say a major flaw of your idea would be that your average music listener hasn't dealt with an .mp3 in decades, or possibly ever. You could still sorta make it work if it somehow unlocked the album on a streaming app and you listened to it that way.

ohhhhh great point, I didn't think about people not knowing what to do with mp3s lol Thanks for watching!

Ive been meaning to pick up an external hard drive so i could just download all my music off bandcamp/mp3 files and ditch Spotify. I did it when i was in jr high its can't be more difficult now right? I have always been a cd collector, and have expanded into cassette and cd. Exactly like you said, I just really want to support my favorite bands. Spotify does have me in its social media features, like blend playlists and being able to view what artists my friends are listening to. Great video though! Glad to hear your thoughts
