That’s all fine to say, but those players aren’t available at the deadline
why? makes no sense to me.
The Jays will always be around to hunt for a wild card spot despite how pathetically their offense is doing...because of their starting rotation.
Most didn't come to play this year for the Jays, but the ones who did are grinding.
I've never been a fan of Joc Pederson. He's the guy you get to "Maybe" help you out in certain situations but he's never going to be the key.
They need to get a couple of sparkplugs offensively, .280+ hitters who have power. But, who would they replace?
There are so many Jays that are struggling this season. Turner, Springer and Kirk come to mind. Bichette will figure it out. IKF should be the starting 3rd baseman. It's tough with the horrible schematic that John Schneider has set up.
Keep dreaming with Atkins in charge and the tough competition coming up jays will be way out of it by then , they can’t hit
This team needs to go get us some offence and bring excitement back to this team to the players and fence or we need to stop watching and going
Why dump Bergers? Wasn't their a new fantastic analytics stat that revealed that Bergers was the best hitter in baseball? Pretty funny.

The situation with the Jays right now is that they don't suck bad enough for a total tear down and they have been lucky enough to move within scraping distance of the WC.As long as they are within sniffing distance, nothing major will happen
I would say out of any of the players you listed Joc and jack Flaherty make the most sense. Both “good” veteran ball players.
What would a trade package look like for Joc or Jack? Not to high of prospects right? Like a Turner and Mayza type deal?
I believe the team will stand pat. The big moves will be in the offseason and getting free agents.
The Jays have a bad habit of getting mediocre players with a hope to catch lightening in a bottle.

Sanchez (in triple A)
And potentially Votto
I have not seen them go all in on a stud player since Alex Anthopoulos did it in 2015.
because the management that is running the team has to change.
They 100% really don't have much to offer in the Tray package
Listen, they need to bring the AAA team up and send the veterans in town who play any position besides pitching?
Oh what could be fun is bringing in Pedersen and Pham, they would have to kiss and make up though, after their spat from a few years ago.
Atkins and Shapiro need to stop getting rid of players and add . We need a top bat our offence has been horrible . We also need a top relief pitcher as we only have two pitchers who have produced green and Garcia .
At this point with Turner not hitting who cares if you have to sit him and let someone else dh like pedersen
It's unlikely the Jays will get any of those players or any impact players. Players don't want to come to TO and the payroll is maxed. At best, maybe a BO or Springer trade may happen or Jays will acquire some low pay utility players as they like to do. Jays have Turner at DH along with others they can swap into DH and youngsters they want to get playing time.
Nope I think they will sign Bo Bichette and Vladdy long-term contracts with Toronto Blue Jay's

Looks like they're currently just $3M away from the threshold. Promoting guys from the minors will chew into that as well.
I suppose they could do what the Angels did last season, buying at the deadline and doing a waiver dump a month later to get back under the threshold if things aren't working out.
What are you talking about? Our management keeps telling us for the last three years. Internal players will fix the problem and I'm sick of them.
The Jays need power bats. Badly. But will anyone want to come to Toronto? I doubt it. They need to sell.

Pham is a hard pass for me. There’s a reason he’s bounced from team to team.
But he can hit the ball and he showed last year in Arizona that he can be a team player and we need to stop with feelings and get baseball players
