Nationals are 1 game under .500 they’re definitely not “bad” and should be in the at least okay column
Especially when you take into consideration that half of the NL is hovering right around .500. Nationals are definitely within range of the playoffs.

As a fan I can tell you they suck, in fact nearly all the NL central is bad, Brewers are mid. Cards will get better though after they get Noot and Contraras back and Walker is good enough to move up from AAA.

How do you think Helsley is the only good bullpen piece for the Cards? JoJo Romero, Ryan Fernandez, Andrew Kittredge, and John King are all solid at worst. Marc just has some hatred for the Cardinals he hasn’t gotten over Yadi and Waino shitting on the Mets in 2006😂
To put the Reds over STL is asinine. Not saying Cincy is bad, but to put them in postseason and the Cards in you're bad is crazy to me.

But there is something deeply wrong with the Astros. I love it, I'm a Mariners fan, but something is off and I can't see why. It looks like the entire team has regressed all at once. They've lost that crucial half-step that pushed them to greatness.
@@kythian it is very bizarre, I hate to even suggest it because I couldn't stand him, but it might be Dusty Baker retiring. I always thought he was super overrated, but maybe he played a bigger role in their success than I realized. Nothing else has changed significantly about the team, other than the pitching injuries, they should be doing fine. But nothing is clicking. They just got skunked 2-0 by the Whitesox🤣

Bro what? we are getting DESTROYED by injuries. We definitely derserve post season team bro. The only reason we are struggling is the offense but do you really expect Adolis and Lowe to keep being this bad? Lowe is a silver slugger and so is Garcia. Also Josh Jung is coming back which for some reason in the past improves our team a lot and the pitching is only getting better. Carter will come back soon and hopefully return to his former self. Langford is starting to heat up and Josh smith is hitting .300! Things are only looking up from here

Can someone explain how the 5 game under .500 Chicago Cubs are on the same tier (or apparently even better according to this dude) than the 3 games over .500 Boston Red Sox who've won back to back series against the top 2 teams in baseball? This guy marc makes no sense!

The AL East is easily the toughest division in MLB.
So, being three games above .500 in THIS division is equivalent to being 10 over .500 anywhere else.

I don't see how with any discernable stat you can put the Cardinals in bad. Since Mother's Day they've been the best team in the NL and are currently holding the 2nd Wild Card.

@@wolfboy8667 Two teams with negative run diff went to the playoffs last year, one went to the WS at this point no one should care about RD. And we lost a series because of injury and Oli being dumb with the BP. And even despite losing this series we haven't lost the 2nd WC.
@@reorulz rd is a good stat to understand if a team is good or not, not whether it’ll make the postseason, it would be better to look at team stats, all of which the cardinals are bad in, they are below average in hitting, pitching, and fielding, the Washington nationals stink at hitting, by WRC+ they are 27th as a team but are about 7th in all of baseball with pitching, which makes me think that they could be a postseason team, the cardinals stink at everything, they have been getting lucky but there will be regression I think
@@wolfboy8667 RD is an extremely vague stat when given no context and then gets immediately exposed the second you start comparing teams. On May 11th they had a -52 RD, largely due to the fact they had a bottom 5 offense and had given up 3-4 blowouts. Since then they're +12 during this stretch, what changed? The offense went from bottom 5 to top 10-15 and they're missing Contreras, Nootbaar and Edman. All of which improves the offense, all of which improves the defense.
ERA+ they're above average. Our bullpen has been elite outside of mishandlings by our manager. So idk where you're getting that we're terrible at everything.

I'd take the Red Sox over the Astros and Rangers. Also St. Louis in bad? There currently in the playoffs dude. I would also move the Guardians up to World Series contenders, and take the Diamondbacks over the Reds and Padres
Not against your take but if you’re not the first WC it really doesn’t matter if you’re in it or not. Because basically every team in the NL is a playoff contender if you look at the WC standings

Marc I beg of you to actually look into the Cardinals stats. Your hate throughout your years is crazy... What sticks out is your take on the bullpen: it's ELITE. Helsley, Romero, Kittregde, Fernandez, King, and Liberatore have all been amazing; Kittredge is the only one with an ERA above 3.00 (3.27).
The rotation is boring, but has been solid. Gibson has been great and Mikolas has figured it out with a 2.76 ERA (3.51 FIP) in the last 7 of his 15 starts.
Once Nootbaar and Contreras - who was a top-5 hitter in all of baseball are healthy, this lineup can be great. Add the potential of Walker coming back up (160 wRC+ in his last half of AAA appearances), and it gets even scarier.
I'm not saying they're a World Series contender, but they're definitively the 2nd best team in the division; they have the best record in the NL over the last month at 21-11. For that reason, they - at worst - belong in your "whatever" category with a placement in "postseason team" not farfetched.
Genuinely curious as to why you don't delve into this team like you do others.

This has got to be hard this time of the year, since about half of the NL is hovering right around .500. Season isn't gonna end that way, you have to use a lot of personal judgement to guess which teams are going to rise above and be the top mediocre teams.

I think the Nats should be in the ok column. I know the NL is really weak but the fact that they’re even in the wild card conversation counts for something given how bad they’ve been the past few years. Even if they don’t end up getting the wild card, this should be seen as a year of progress and future potential for a rebuilding team

Cardinals at bad is insane even though we have some people doing bad offensively, we have had the best record in the nl since may 12 and have scored damn near 6 or 7 runs per game during that stretch. And our bullpen has one of the best big three relievers in the game imo. They are at least in the top of whatever i guess

I dont think the Jays are looking good (especially with Bo out for a fair few games with his injury) but I think as of late they've deff been good enough to at least get out of the "You're bad" tier.
Split with the Orioles, took 2/3 from the guardians. It really depends if their hitting can start existing again, but the team looks to have life in the bats again with the new wave of buffalo guiys they've just brought up (Horwitz, Barger, Martinez)

The thing with the reds is that we get Noevi Marte back in a few games, which will help, and in august/September we get McLain back which will be huge for the last month and postseason

As a Cardinals fan, we've done good despite our offense. Also a good chunk of the starting lineup has been injured basically all season. If they get back up to average they will be a ws contender. If they don't, then I think they have a wildcard chance for sure
The fact guardians aren't elite or at least ws contenders instantly invalidates this whole list. They're one of the youngest teams and have the 3rd lowest salary cap in MLB. The fact the Orioles are put at elite and not the guardians is wild.

sorry but A's and Rockies arent dog water. theyre definitely bad but theyre not close to being on the same level as the Angels and White Sox. At least Rockies & A's can put up runs with the better teams in baseball. A's pitching isnt awful, they have a handful of good pitchers that can keep them in games and Miller as a closer to almost 95% secure wins.

Bro have you watched a dbacks game past opening week?? We have the 2nd best record in the league for June, Corbin and lourdes have both REALLY started to heat up and are playing much better than the start of the year. Corbin nearly has a 20 game OB streak. Not to mention we were absolutely wrecked with injuries to start the year and we still missing key players.
Braves fan here. I was expecting Postseason Team, especially due to the Braves hate. WS Contender is more than fair. We’re obviously not elite with how cold the bats have been, although the pitching has been a pleasant surprise with Strider out for the year.

As a mariners fan I don't think we are WS contenders unless we can get one or two solid bats at the deadline. Our pitching is mosty the reason we're in the position we're in, but it won't hold forever if our offense stays where it is.
