      @@MayoCarsDR hey man, I want to get this done to the 2AZ of my highlander, I know there's a updated piston kit to fix the oil comsumption problem of this engine, as the Car care nut said, but I cant find this updated kit, are you using one of those? can you put out the part number? or in this case, the list of parts I have to get for this? thanks!

    Is it ok to use lucas assembly lube or is 5w-30 better? I thought new assemblies need certain metals added in assembly lube?

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Both are fine, after that the engine has to run only with oil

    You make it look very simple, great video. Question: I don’t see the Cylinder Block Spacer/Water Jacket. The reason I ask is because I was told by my mechanic as my car has been heating up in occasion that we need to remove and get rid of the water jacket/Spacer for good. That it’s not of important, can you shed some info on this. I have an 2002 Camry 4cyl. Thanks

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes,It doesn't have to be, it's okay if the jacket is there, and if it's not, it's not a problem.

    • @kramnull8962
      @kramnull8962 Před 2 lety +2

      If you take it out it will only take longer for your engine to start to heat the coolant and in turn the air in your car. ie defrost
      That spacer simply displaces the amount of water allowed inside the water jacket. Like putting a quart jug of water in the back of your toilet at home. Essentially it saves you a quart of water that is used in each flush.

      The engine must be pulled out without which you cannot replace the crankshaft bearings

      And when you open the engine, before you open it, check where the oil is coming from, maybe the oil is leaking from the crankshaft bolt.

    You used oem pistons??? Yep... ur gonna burn oil still after it runs for a few thousand miles. The updated pistons arent that great. I used enginetech pistons. The rings were same width as sbc... the updated pistons and rings that are supposed to fix the oil burn , are still too thin and they burn lol
