@@LSib32 That's what all unsigned bands do. Besides creating and recording the music, they need to organise concerts (negotiate how much they get paid, if they get a share of the drinks sold at the venue, etc...), make their own posters, flyers and/or send emails to promote the concerts, manage their online presence...
I find it ironic (and disrespectful) that often, a label will only sign you if you've already done all the work and have a decent amount of followers!

The tiktok shitty record deal happened to Jeris Johnson and Sueco. They both went dark for about a year or so to get out of contracts

I think Musician founded labels are going to become more and more common and eventually run out the more corporate suit labels. Like Housecore with Phil Anselmo, Blackened Recordings with Metallica, and Dave Grohl with Roswell

A7X is legendary. One of my absolute favorite bands live 🤘🏼
I feel like nowadays, the major perks to having a record label is that they can cover the overhead costs. Production for shows, touring, music videos, having access or contacts who are reputable videographers, engineers and sound mixers are all important and expensive. It’s much more doable now days to try and do it without a label, but unless you have a charitable investor or someone really financially savvy, it does limit how quickly you can grow to an extent. Example: thrown. That being said, I think a new genre of band management will be coming out for established bands with lower overall costs. Mainly because they’re already setup and have their own contacts and recognition. It would take a lot more work to do it themselves while also creating music and instead they can hire out for that side of things at a lower cost and focus on the music. These established bands could also do a number of things to grow their “cash” stash and cover their own upfront costs and reap more of the rewards from their incredible life devoted art.
Speaking of the deathbats club, I tried getting into it, and the cost for a single deathbat NFT is the Etherium equivalent of $250 USD, and it was not clear what that actually got you. Am I missing something, or is just that expenisve, and you do get cool perks?

Record labels never kept up with the technology or development of a way to make money off streaming. Once music went digital compared to a physical product they failed to assimilate
A few months before Dead By Daylight did a Collab with Slipknot, they had also did a collab with, Iron Maiden and they even came out with band shirts between the two 😫🤘🔥

I do have to say this though even though it looks like a label is independent..... Well might not be the fact. Silent partners can invest and even though they supposedly have nothing to do with the day to day biz ....well if your silent investor like Warner Entertainment did i think with Maverick? Madonnas label she "started"???? ......and silent investors do not have to be legally publicly named... Think small independent label and the investor threatens to pull out funding then you still have labels running the show just in the background. Quietly ....that seems shady to me. I researched it a bit so maybe im wrong. I was feeling excited that the greedy labels ship was going down....its not it just appears to be.

LOL all he did was state that a single viral moment on tiktok is not going to sell your band, and also that that's not how they want to fully promote themselves, and you have assets in the comments making stupid comments defending labels lol? There are a lot of shady labels and has been for a long time. If that's all labels can provide to you it's a waste of time money and energy. Ppl don’t understand that A7x would have never been serviced to radio ESPECIALLY in the early 2000’s without a major label. Which is a huge reason they grew so big as a band. Along with cd distribution worldwide when that was still a thing that use to be a very massive role labels played. It’s easy for them to say “fuck the label” now but it’s a completely different game when you have a massive fan base and leverage.

big facts! a lot of people don't know this stuff, though. especially here in the rock community. i'm 40 but i have stayed tech savy and on top of all the stuff going on currently in the music biz and i just have nothing but respect for these guys, showing older folks that record deals are generally a scam for artists. we have no need for record lables, anymore.

Most of these artists go along to get ahead & don't rock the boat b/c they understand what these labels can do to them. Hollywood & the record industry have been an arm of the CIA for decades.
Saying a label's ideas aren't great after releasing an album as bad as LIBAD is rich. And I say that as someone whose fave band for 20 years has been A7X.

Avenged sevenfold is a hit and miss band for me they are fine to listen but still dont get the hype of them they to me too much a try hard band like they want to be a poormans metallica or poormans guns n roses they sold out big time there are somgs i like but theres ones just got too old or sounded stupid or corny so im nutral with avenged sevenfold and their albums🤷

How do you think they sold out? It's the music BIZ not a jam session. My gen also talked crap about Metallica being sale outs ect..... If you think about it Avenged is doing things their way and making sure the fans are the ones they take care of. They really do go the extra to do so while maintaining the business part. Just my opinion though. To each his own. I hated the new album completely but gave it several listens. Once I realized they really were changing things up a bit so that they weren't putting the same ol same ol out it started to grow on me. I still hate We love you but if you listen to it I think it's supposed to be just that. Not liked bc the lyrics are talking about the vile world around us. The end of that song is brilliant though I immediately in my mind could see a train. Steam locomotive. Without that invention the industrial revolution wouldn't have taken place. It's what moved the goods. ....ok sorry I'm done just my opinion
