I had high hopes for this album, but I didn't expect it to be a 10/10. Best album this band has ever made, and I was already a fan. This was such a beautiful album.
Isn’t it great? It’s nothing like what hooked us on A7X but I hold nothing they’ve done higher.

This album speaks to me almost the way The Stage did but even more so and in a much deeper way. This one is different and I apparently needed it. Can't expect them to always have the same sound. They have grown and evolved and are exploring their craft and having FUN. They have proven themselves already. We didn't need some mainstream album, they gave us ART! Sorry it wasn't for you.
Art imitates life...life imitates art. Both are their own mess. Can't we just enjoy the brush strokes and the moments instead of putting all of the emphasis on the finished piece and destination? This album just "is"...
I didn't love the stage but I love this. The stage was a preparation for this

As a non-musician I struggle to grasp how good this band (if I even dare call them that) really is - you actually have people, who are seemingly quite good musicians in their own right, making CZcams videos on how to play AX7 original compositions. I’m going to go out on a limb here, but I would say AX7 is the definitive best rock/progressive/“whatever you want to call them” group on the scene nowadays. Every single member is talented beyond belief in their respective craft. Hail to the King(s)🤘
Damn, listening to this album gave me such a joy and while listening to cosmic, I sobbed. I felt like I was a kid .

A7x ur the best band ever.I’m 47 I been around l listing to some. Awesome records in my life but this just blew my mind.
I have been an A7X fan since I was 10 years old. I love that they continue to let themselves be creative and write the songs they want to write rather than what mainstream tells them to write.
Notice it’s nothing like anything you’ve ever heard before, and it’s absolutely phenomenal.
A masterpiece. I had high hopes for this album. I had heard them say how differant it was but had no idea what to expect. I could have never imagined this. A 1 or 1 album. I’ve never heard anything like this and there is nothing else that even compares. They achieved something with this album that they’ve never done.

I’ve listened to this album every day all day since Friday! I seen the leaks but forced myself to wait like a good boy… and I was mind blown by the whole album!!! 10/10!
Solid album, definitely is different for any listener for an A7X fan. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend I love the whole thing like most interviewers but I appreciate how the band expanded their sound

They’ve conveyed the progress of going from potentiality to actuality. All the emotions. All the growth of a human individual within each’s Antecedent Causes and the Universal Sympathy of all.
In the running for album of the year for me. I see a Grammy in their near future. The album is fucking phenomenal.
And this is coming from a casual A7X fan. I like them but not a die hard fan. This album has changed that.
The only reason I don't see a Grammy is because this album isn't mainstream. Which is what makes it great, but people don't appreciate that today.

Loving this interview! I could listen to M. Shadows talk all day. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this album, I figured it wasn’t gonna be like the last few, but I was pleasantly surprised. So amazing hearing the work and thoughts that went into this album

Agreed. I'm an atheist but as I get older (41) and find more spirituality through life and hallucinogens I fully understand the evolution here. Life is short and regardless of origin, it is undeniably a trip.
I've been a fan since '03-'04.. To see how far they've come since the first album is fucking nutz.. No other band has evolved as much as they have.. nothing even compares to their catalog, not even close... This new album solidifies them as the greatest band of all time in my book...

I could listen to Matt talk about music all day long, can't wait to see them perform these songs next month (Detroit show for anyone who's gonna be at Pine Knob). The Rev would be so proud of how wild this album is!

Dude I went from absolutely hating this album, because I was expecting it to be like hail to the king, shepherd of fire kind of stuff…to completely loving it.
I took another day to listen to it, i went on a slow drive and it just changed my perspective of the album. Especially the middle part of “Cosmic” that’s my favorite part of the album so far
What you mentioned is sadly the mindset for most people, expecting the same-ish past stuff all over again and then getting something else without giving it a proper chance. I think its a phenomenal album tackling a very hard subject of life with great lyricism and musicianship, good thing you gave it another try and liking it!

The first month I hated this album but as I listen more the songs are pure beauty
Played their cover of God Only Knows at the bar, and when it eventually came on, I thought "wait, did I play Beautiful Morning?" Its crazy how much you see these nuggets that reference moments from other a7x albums and even other artists.
One of the best listening experiences ive ever had. Truly incredible album i want to know of someone was influenced by "The care taker everything at the end of the world" there is something so off about the album in a delibrate beutiful and terrifying way. Like this fucking dread follows each song until the last words sung in "dead" then this piano masterwork that really drives my point home. There are motifs through out the whole album and they pop up (amongst other songs on the album) all over the life is but a dream. Its incredible

Something to do with the crappy algorithm. If at some point the channel has taken a pause or been slower and inconsistent with material, it screws up the algorithm. I think it’s ridiculous, but it’s their way of getting people to pay for traffic.
I hope Matt shadows can see this one day but I want to hear lips of deciept in concert!!!
Was always an A7X fan, but would not have put them up in my top 10 of all time, but this album (plus The Stage) and watching a few interviews on how the record was developed, their thought processes and beliefs...yea they might move into top 5.

Glad one of my favorite bands makes the music they want to make, not forced to make.
Initially was very disappointed, I guess I didn’t know what I wanted from them.
I’ve given the album several listens and it has grown on me exponentially.
There’s definitely great artistry in this album but maybe I was hoping for a Nightmare 2.0 so I feel it fell away from my hopes.
That part about Mattel MAKES SENSE, love the album but that bridge I cannot get outta my head absolutely makes sense

LIBAD and Hushed & Grim (Mastodon) are some of the best music albums that metal has ever gifted to the world.
Anyone wonder the meaning behind them without shirts on? Perhaps as a way to show there age and that what we think they look like as “Rockstars” isn’t always what reality is

I’m not a fan of the band but love Brooks Wackerman, so I gave this new album an honest listen. It’s really great. Avenged meets The Beatles, Rush, and Zappa.

The thing that held me back for a bit was the vocals
I think Matt hurts nobody studio version but live he has a bit more power into it and it’s made me appreciate the song a lot more

I didn't like the album on first listen. 2nd listen was a good. By the 3rd listen, I was in love. Now I've got the album on repeat.
I have that feeling with Be by Pain of Salvation. A marvelous concept album but it was maybe too much for the time it came out. But yeah, neither is it as catchy as this one, which makes me give props to Avenged Sevenfold, catchy, while complex and artistic is not easy. It is looks simple, that is the biggest I think one can get.

To people defending this album, compare the feeling you got the first time you heard Nobody to the first time you heard Bat Country or Afterlife.
I absolutely loved city of evil and remember lots of friends drop A7X during them school years because of it. I had one random kid come up to me wearing a city of evil shirt and say how much he loved to see someone else like the album. I had that album on repeat for almost a damn year. I loved the way A7X has evolved and gone through different ways to play.
I really hope they release another album in a year or 2 because I was so excited and honestly kinda underwhelmed

easily the worst album of their careers. This isn't rock or metal or any sort of genre. it's m shadows singing in the same monotone in almost every song.
I’m not sure there’s anything close to “music” on this album. It’s more like a splattering of weird art that makes no sense to me.
