Avenged Sevenfold’s Zacky Vengeance Dives Deep Into The New Album "Life Is But A Dream…"

- Wow! What a great conversation with Zacky Vengeance from Avenged Sevenfold. Their new record “Life Is But A Dream…” drops on June 2nd, and I’m very excited! The two tracks I’ve heard have blown me away!
He told me about the first couple shows. They haven’t been on stage in about five years. “We have to put on a show that compliments the music, and do something different than we did before.”
He talks about how every member of the band brings their creative thoughts to the table, nothing is off limits. We talked about the artwork and what went into creating that.
What keeps the four original members so tight after all these years. “We feed off of each others energy.” He went into much more detail on this topic. Really interesting to hear his answer.
We got to talking about the album. Like I said, I CANNOT wait to hear the whole record. He had a ton to say about it. He talked about how these songs are everything but cliché. “It kinda puts you in a mood and vibe” as far as the opening single, Nobody is concerned. “We tried totally different things” when it comes to the other song they released called We Love You All. “Whatever we do sounds like Avenged Sevenfold.” He talked a lot about how they really tried to test the barriers on this album. “We did it pure and true on this album”
He told me how they recorded the orchestral parts for the album on a very famous soundstage. “It took us an extra year and a half.” We talked about the influences that shaped the record…you might be surprised.
That’s just the tip of our conversation on the new album.
I also asked him about a funny story M. Shadows told me about a show early in their career, and about his favorite Beatle songs.

@@ddawg3974 I really can’t tell if you’re being obtuse on purpose… This is a channel owned by a popular rock station in Detroit, the number of subscribers they have on CZcams is meaningless because this would have been heard by significantly more people on the station itself. Anything they gain on this video itself is just extra. People need to quit acting like view counts/sub counts, etc. on CZcams are the be all end all of anything.

@@marcussilva4961 yes the main riff from that song was zacky, all the riffs on their debut were also Zacky’s because Syn wasn’t even in the band at that point.
Mostly true. Matt writes a decent chunk of their music. Namely riffs from critical acclaim, bat country, the chorus from unholy. Especially on their first album it’s Matt and zacky.

Nightmare (song), HTTK (song), The Stage (song), and Nobody have same formula and feels on the chorus. Not hard to tell that "Nobody" is their "normal" song. And "Game Over" has certain Eternal Rest feels.
Zacky is the man, great to see him do a long interview like this, mainly just seen shadows everywhere doing press for the record

This album showcases the absolute talent from each member.. The premise of this concept record is right in the title. Life is but a dream. Because life is just a dream...when we sleep the dream becomes our true reality. The conflict is between living and death and what is real and what is not. Although we prepare for death because ultimately that is our fate. Cosmic and Mattel are badass

Zacky is sooo Underrated, LIBAD is an album that feels like Hybrid Theory for me, I just can't listen one track, I had to listen at least mid album.
PS: GOD are so wonderfull tracks to be played live a Mashup can work very well...

38:30 i think this is so important when it comes to art. The internet is so full of judgement and it's like people look for reasons to dislike things that don't immediately click with them instead of looking for reasons to like it. Art should imo be at least somewhat challenging because that's what makes it interesting, otherwise you're just consuming the same things over and over again and there's no evolution.
Man, I think that artists need to be more hard to it, I see much more positivities comments about a lot of things, I just though that bad comments use hard words and it shocks more. Haters gonna hate, so let it be...
