A lengthy story to justify whatever price they give it. A ratchet and clank style 3rd person shooter. Being able to play as the other characters, use the moves fox has I smash. An awsome multiplayer, returning characters such as The sf2 pilots, Katt, Krystal, Bill, and star wolf. A brand new story with no forced hardware gimmick. Boom, there you go a new star fox game for the modern era, probably be a soft reboot to start the series in a better place without returning to 64s story but also not retconing anything.

I still think it's strange how during the N64/Gamecube era, heck, even Wii, Fire Emblem was barely known about in the West, while Star Fox was considered a major franchise....
Then Star Fox got delayed a bunch, and Zero/Guard didn't do well.
Meanwhile, Awakening was meabt to be the last Fire Emblem game, but sold so much that it revitalized the franchise, and subsequent games like Three Houses sold incredibly well, to the point Fire Emblem as a franchise now has outsold Star Fox by 2:1.

It actually could work if we got a Donkey Kong game to come out in a year or 2 since we just got Mario Wonder. But that might get lost in all the exciting big games coming out so yea…2024 would make the most sense. Not sure if they planned ahead though.

Can't really say this as Covid really did put A LOT of projects on hold during late 2019, 2020 and the first half of 2021. We really don't know what could've been possible if non of it happened. I do agree with the comment though. We either get nintendo making it which will be lylat wars again to yet again be drowned by a gimmick again and remain as a smash character. Or let a 3rd party who even thought they haven't made an exact 64 gameplay wise, still shows more willing to move past 64 and the hardware gimmicks. I'll take a star fox game that doesn't play like traditional starfox over a game that tries to recapture 64 but then suffocate it in the end.

With the benefit of hindsight, I completely understand why Mario and Luigi are separated. Nintendo and Illumination were testing how audiences react to Luigi carrying screentime on his own.
A lot of it is based in psychology. In February 2022, Charlie Day talked about his son playing Luigi's Mansion. He then expressed interest in the game being adapted. Fast-forward to March 2023, when promotions for the Mario movie are in full swing. Not only is Day completely in favour of a Luigi movie, but Chris Pratt brings up the "NCU" and specifically mentions Luigi's Mansion.
Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri are reading every complaint about Luigi's screentime and quoting the Hulk: "I see this as an absolute win".
To an executive, that means two things. One: the fans want Mario and Luigi to go on an actual adventure together in the inevitable sequel. Two: the fans want Luigi to have his own movie.

I would be so down for Star Fox Adventures remaster/remake that one was my favorite of the Star Fox series. However, I would want them to do it on the condition that they make General Scales an actual boss like second to the final boss. That was so stupid how we don't get to fight General Scales. Don't get me wrong, I loved how Andross was the true final boss but there should have been a boss fight with General Scales since he was the villain that we have been chasing after all this time from the start. The cutscene that happens when you to go to where the last Krazoa Spirit is supposed to be where Scales drops down and ambushes Fox, it gets you all excited like "Alright! I'm ready to fight this villain!" But then just as you draw your weapon on Scales, it does the cutscene where Andross's voice orders Scales to give Fox the last Krazoa Spirit and then you're all like "That's it!? Are you freaking kidding me!? We've been chasing after this villain since the start of the game and we finally catch up with him and don't even get to fight him!?" That's what happened to me when I first played that game. I would hope they add in a boss fight with General Scales and have the Andross voice cutscene be right after Scales' health bar reaches zero.

To add further evidence to this that about a year or two ago both Necro and Zippo (people who are on the opposite ends of the believability scale) talked about how nintendo is working on a new game that would tow the line between sequel and reboot. They also said that this would play apart in their expansion to other media, in other words movies.
We haven't heard anything else about this in awhile until now which might mean that we might be getting a new game along with a movie or show. A sequel reboot gives me two options.
    My thoughts:
    1. This new game could be a sequel in the sense that it takes place after command or Assault. If its a sequel to command but also a reboot then the ending they choose to be canon is "Goodbye Fox" were fox retires and has a son name Marcus who grows up to form his own star fox team. We would be following Marcus Mcloud in this game.
    2. Another option is that it will be a sequel to Assault and retconning Command. The reboot aspect stems from things that happened in past games appearing in it but acting like its always been there. Like Krystal has always been apart of the team or they just don't acknowledge the past games but keep moving from there anyways. Think of breath of the wild in that regard. Also gameplay would be re done to set itself appart but also more appealing to a broader audience. Also new villain.
I rewatched the video that covered it and thought it added a bit more to your theory.

You know Starfox Assault was a really good game I played as a kid on the GameCube which is one of the best Starfox Games I've ever played and seeing a new Starfox game being like Starfox Assault would be awesome to see.
It would be cool to see Super Smash Bros Movie like seeing like Nintendo Characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Rosalina, Daisy, Wario, Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K Rool, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Inklings, and Pokemon like that would be cool to see just like in the Marvel Avengers. But I know that the voice actors would be from The Super Mario Bros Movie I think Makiko Ohmoto would voice Kirby and also Antonio Banderas as Meta Knight, and Ted Lewis as King Dedede in the Super Smash Bros Movie as well as the Kirby Movie too and yeah. But seriously I mean just don't make Kirby talk make him say Poyo and I'll be fine with that.
But okay so I know that we have a Kirby Movie based off of Kirby Right Back At Ya which was Kirby Fright to the Finish so I don’t know if the second one is going to be about Kirby Right Back At Ya again or the Kirby Games?
Cause what I think the story could be about Kirby as cute pink puffball baby that says Poyo and does not fully talk crash lands into Dreamland and then Tiff and Tuff come up to Kirby and they take good care of them because I mean in the anime Kirby did crash landed into Dreamland and then he meets Tiff and Tuff so Nintendo needs to add Tiff and Tuff in the Movie since Fright to the Finish so Tiff and Tuff take good care of Kirby and then King Dedede alongside his snail servant Escargoon and the Waddle Dee with a Bandana on his head and his spear Bandana Waddle Dee. And then King Dedede orders the Waddle Dees to take all the food in Dreamland and then Kirby, Tiff, and Tuff noticed this so then they take Kirby to see Meta Knight so that he can train him to take down King Dedede but Kirby has to take down some the famous bosses that Kirby has to face like Whispy Woods, Kracko, Lololo and Lalala, Kabula, Heavy Mole, and Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright and then Kirby takes on King Dedede and when the fight was over King Dedede was being possessed by an unknown figure which is Dark Matter and his leader Zero which he wants to takeover Dreamland and Planet Popstar so then Kirby takes down Dark Matter and takes on Zero in an Epic Battle which Kirby uses the Lovestick or the Starrod to take down Zero and when Kirby defeated Zero Tiff and Tuff celebrate Kirby for his victory against Zero and also Meta Knight congratulates Kirby as well for his win and then King Dedede tells Kirby sorry for attacking him and then Kirby hugs him and then King Dedede decides to be friends with Kirby and then in the post credit scene it shows Zero turning into his second form 02 or maybe Marx shows up standing on his ball. So yeah that’s what I think the Kirby Movie should be like and yeah.
And for the cast for a Kirby Movie I think it would be like Makiko Ohmoto as Kirby, Kerry Williams as Tiff, Jacob Hopkins or Kayzie Rodgers as Tuff, Antonio Banderas as Meta Knight, Scarlett Johansson as Susie Haltmann, and Ted Lewis as King Dedede and Escargoon.
And also if the Kirby Movie does very well like doing pretty good then maybe Nintendo and HAL Laboratory can make a reboot for Kirby Right Back At Ya like having the original characters like Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Tiff, Tuff, Escargoon, Sir Ebrum, Lady Like, and the Cappytown Citizens and also adding new Kirby Characters like Bandana Waddle Dee, Adeleine, Ribbon, Marx, Magolor, Taranza, Susie, Elline, The Three Mage Sisters, Elfilin, Clawroline, The Beast Pack, Galacta Knight, the four colored Kirbies Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green, Shadow Kirby, and even more. So I hope they do make reboot for Kirby Right Back At Ya since Nintendo is now doing entertainment which is doing Movies and TV Shows like The Super Mario Bros Movie so hopefully we do get a reboot for Kirby Right Back At Ya. But Nintendo and HAL Laboratory they should not just let Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon go because it would be cool seeing them in the Kirby Canon like in the games cause I know Escargoon and NME were in Mass Attack but not Tiff and Tuff so why not add them in the Kirby Games since the Anime is now done. But I really want to see Japan make official plushies of Tiff, Tuff and Escargoon because that would be cool and I would love to see that happen. But yeah this show was great and adorable and hopefully we get a reboot for it like keeping Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon in it, adding new Kirby Characters, and not making Kirby fully talk cause in the anime I know he did talk in episode 1 but at this rate I don't want him to talk at all because it would might sound weird and I don't like that at all so hopefully in the reboot they can keep making him say Poyo which I'll be fine with that.

Bandai Namco just publishes their Dark Souls and Elden Ring games they don't own them like Nintendo owns Monolith Soft. Secondly I think they're style clashes heavily with most of Nintendo's IPs. Even Zelda which From Software's games take quite a lot of inspiration from gameplay wise probably won't be allowed to go anywhere near as dark as they'd want to.

That said, it would be cool to have an Omni tool or a light saber. I think that the game should be 3rd person but resemble a call of duty campaign or ratchet and clank gameplay. Can we see some smash tech appear in the game? Don’t rely completely on dog fights. To be honest they can tweet the cast and add new characters. I'm a casual when it comes to starfox and the reason why is because it doesn't interest me at least the characters doesn't interest me they look generic anthropomorphic animals to me I don't know why but the same thing has happened to me before with king dedede from Kirby he looked generic and never care for him but now with his redesign he is really cool. Maybe they need some kind of redesign. look I'm not sure if I am the only one that think this or not but it will be really interesting hear everyone thoughts about this maybe that is the reason why it doesn't sell that well but who knows. I think they have made the same game 4 times already before and is still not selling that well. If they make a new one I'll give it a chance like I did with metroid 3, 5 and prime and I'm playing fusion right now with nso, such a good series man.

I'd like them to eventually port Zero to the Switch or Switch 2 as well. That game gets too much flak for it's control scheme and I can see them making it play more like a traditional Star Fox game and polishing up the levels so it's a much better experience. I do think they'll probably do that after a new entry releases and does well as I don't think they've got confidence in Zero itself. Whether or not they actually make a new entry though... Who knows.

They would not only have to retooled the controls but the placement of enemies to get it all to work. But at that point would it be worth it? It's just a retelling of 64 at that point, nothing special. They could pull a Bowsers Fury and reimagin sf2 or Adventures to add something new and bring back something old.

@@kurokamina8429 I mean the assets are already made and all that would need to be done is restructuring some of the levels so they work better with a traditional control scheme. I can also see them adding in a couple more levels like Solar or Aquas for a Definitive Edition too increase play value of the game. It'd honestly be a quicker turn around than making a new game.
It might be a retelling of 64 , but I can see the new game doing the same thing as well. Nintendo likes to play it safe most of the time and when they deviate especially in the case of Star Fox the results can be mixed.
Platinum has mentioned they want to remaster this game as well so I can see Nintendo giving them another chance at that especially if it releases on the Switch which has more than 10 times the install base the Wii U had. If it or a new game can get over 1 million units sold that'd probably be good enough to bring the franchise back on a more regular release schedule. But if it hits just 600,000 again I can see Nintendo letting the franchise go dormant again.
I don't think Nintendo has a lot of confidence in this franchise unfortunately and the same goes for F-Zero. Us fans might be saying we want this and that franchise to come back, but money talks.

@@SacrificAbominat true, the assets are right there but just because they could doesn't mean they should. That game is now notorious for being one of the worst starfox games and currently the reason the series hasn't shown up on the switch. You tweak the game and it might do a little better and I say little because there are still problems with that game outside of the controls.
Nintendo does play it safe with some of their ips but for starfox that opportunity is gone. It has been gone the moment Adventures and Assault was made and released. Because despite the reception those games got at the time it did different things that people did like. Those things can't be thrown back into the bag because it's out, it exists, people can play it and say they want more of this. Now mario and zelda can get away with it for different reasons. Mario has always been largely about gameplay but even though the concepts have been the same the context around it has changed enough to not matter. Zelda is a bit more narrative focused but they keep bringing back Ganondorf and they can do that because they created a narrative that allows them to do that. But also because they also have some new villains sprinkled here and there. But when starfox does it, ITS LITERALLY the same story. Make small changes but when the narration talks about the betrayal of pigma, the death of James and Androsses banishment over and over, you feel like your on a treadmill going no where. If they did port zero over it would continue that feeling and would push this narrative that there's only one starfox game.
Then there is the gameplay and price. Should starfox, now in the 2020s continue to be an arcade on rail shoot. It's a dreadful question but it's one that clearly needs to be talked about because it dictates if we could continue to get interest from people who never play which in turn help get more games. Would one play through and high scores be enough to get people to want to play another hour or two to play the other paths? Personally I want to continue to playing starfox games with on rail gameplay but reality is knocking at the door and so whatever new gameplay style we get, we shouldn't look at it from is it starfox because it has A and B but is this the starfox I'm satisfied getting even if it's not like 64.

nintendo fans need to realise how niche star fox actually is.
realistically, there isn’t big plans for star fox in terms of like a movie. it makes no sense for nintendo to give a mainstream movie to one of their most niche and worst selling IP that hasn’t had a single game released in over 9 years, and a full console generation.
yes it’s a fan favourite franchise to nintendo fans, but it isn’t as a big as nintendo fans make it out to be. stuff like this comes across as just wish fulfilment. the insider probably heard mario movie 2 rumours and also saw people talk about how they like star fox and how it could have a decent movie, and ran with it. shit like that happens all the time for movie industry leaks.

    • @kurokamina8429
      @kurokamina8429 Před 4 měsíci

      "Can't let you do that"
Okay first off it actually does make sense, a lot actually. For starters Star Fox was always looked at or described as an interactive movie or show, at least starfox 64. An interactive movie or a Saturday morning cartoon with episodes that have self contained narrative. It also has a lot of inspiration from scifi movies and shows such as star wars, star trek, independents day, thunder birds, and even Gundam. So star fox is actually a perfect ip for a movie or show in that regard as opposed to something like mario which still worked but that was because they actually added a lot of original content to fleshed it out and made the fun of mario translate over very well.
Speaking of which the gameplay translation can work very well as evident by something like star wars, independents day, or the top gun movies. Or better yet look at a fan animation someone made using an epic cover of the corneria theme. I think it was called star fox corneria remixed remake or something, it gives the idea.
But narrativly it is just crying out to be made as fan projects and an offical projects shows just how fat the ip can stretch. Look at "A Fox In Space episode 1 and 2" which is a more serious reimagining of starfox with a sort of adult swim art style. How about something like "Star Fox Remadventures episode 1" or even an official nintendo starfox project like "StarFox the battle begins anime short".
But the biggest reason why it does make sense is one name. Miyamoto. I give this man a lot of crap for how he got the series into the position its currently in but it's because of him that we got more games at all. One of the reasons F-Zero hasn't gotten a new mainline game is because Miyamoto doesn't like F-Zero. He loves Star Fox, he expressed it in plenty of interviews. Look at the Marketing for Star Fox Zero, they went above and beyond, even bringing back the puppet look from the original material. They saw the wonders of releasing a movie adaptation before announcing and releasing a game. There's no doubt that they won't take advantage of a movie to promote a new starfox game to boost sales.

@@kurokamina8429 i’m not saying Star Fox couldn’t be a movie, I agree with you that it could lmao. Outside of Mario, most nintendo games would be easy to; and they did it with him so others would be fine.
the issue i’m raising is that Star Fox is literally not a popular enough franchise. The Mario movie cost like $200 million to make, and including marketing we can estimate about $400 million. It made just over a billion so it made its money back.
Mario can do this since he is literally the most popular video game franchise ever; his best selling game is in the 60+ millions, and has like 15 games selling over 10 million.
Star Fox is a niche nintendo franchise with about 5 mainline games, with none of them selling over three million, with the last 3 games struggling to sell between 0.5 and 2 million. And the franchise is less relevant now than ever since it hasn’t had a new game in 9 years.
It wouldn’t make sense to invest a movie budget into a franchise like that as literally no one would care for it; the general public already don’t know what Star Fox is (it’s a niche franchise, you only know of it because it’s big for nintendo fans).
Star Fox is another franchise like F-Zero, Earthbound, and sometimes even some Fire Emblem characters where if you ask the most mainstream average person when playing smash who certain characters are, they would say “idk i just thought they were a smash character”.

@@cwega2463 okay and who said that it needed to piggyback off of the games? My mother knew nothing about about the last of us and yet watched it all the way with my sister who also didn't know what it was.
Nobody knew who the Guardians of the galaxy were and yet people showed up and loved it. Nobody knew who Iron Man was but it made its money back. Moon Knight is a character that I never even heard of but then when they made the show,, I'm never gonna forget it. These are massively successes movies and shows on characters that were either unknown or not popular at the time but they ended up being big successes. Iron Man got shot up to being THE face of marvel. Guardians of the Galaxy is still doing incredibly strong meanwhile other projects on more popular characters are flopping.
So I don't take that argument seriously because if these obscure Marvel characters can make a comeback in movie form then why not Star Fox? My mother knew nothing about Uncharted, she didn't even know it was based on a videogame yet she thought it was interesting and wanted to watch it. Same went for The Last of Us show, I didn't know my sister and my mother were watching it until I caught them watching. Again didn't know it was based on a video game. So in a hypothetical Star Fox movie parents or just people in general could look and see a trailer and if done right would catch people's attention. Looks like a fun family movie, even if they saw the nintendo logo on it they'll be thinking of the mario movie and how enjoyable that movie was and decided hey worth a try.
All you really need to do is translate the starfox story into an hour, hour and a halve movie. A strong narrative to get the normies to care. Write the characters to be even more likable and relatable, add more background to the characters and universe. But most importantly have a director and writer who know what they are doing and care about it. It not like there aren't people who don't, years ago the artist of the God Of War series did an awsome art of Star Fox characters and the writer and or director of the Rouge One movie saw it on Twitter and commented that said "I want to make this movie".
For good measure, star fox has some of the most iconic furries in the furry fandom (Krystal). Just saying.

@@kurokamina8429 stuff like Guardians work because it was the 11th film in the biggest film franchise in the world and people wanted to know where the story went next. and it established them as popular mainstream characters. it wouldn’t have performed well if it was like the second or third movie. even the MCU’s first few projects didn’t do amazingly. it was really only Iron Man and then avengers. Iron Man wasn’t insanely popular but was still a very popular marvel character, directed by a famous director and staring one of the biggest actors from the 80s and 90s in a comeback role. of course it was going to succeed.
last of us is also incredibly successful and mainstream. moon knight is less mainstream but was made as like the MCU’s 30th project after it has proved itself in audiences eyes as a mainstay brand.
star fox is on the popularity and sales numbers of a niche indie franchise.
i would love a star fox movie but no company in their right mind would make their third venture into the movie business an obscure and niche franchise that hasn’t had a game in 9 years; and hasn’t had a game that sold over a million copies in over 15 years; and it’s best selling game (3 million) came out almost 30 years ago.
for it to be an insane success to get break even at the box office (around $400 million) it needs to be popular. that’s why even marvel movies now are losing money. public interest matters.
it’s why shows like Moon Knight and Ms Marvel failed in terms of view counts. there was a huge lack of interest.
and no, nintendo wouldn’t be swayed to make a whole $200 million movie because a character from a spin off off the niche franchise is popular in the niche furry community.
