Good tip, we often use it or heat a tea spoon and press on the bite, it stings for a second but stops the want to scratch it.
Portuguese say 'Há males que vêm por bem.' So, the 'red card' from the first inspection was a bad thing that brought a good thing, preventing a future hazard.
Those Hazel Quinn products have a very curious retro style. That just reminded me that 2nd hand old-style items are a big business in England, but here in Portugal, the recovery of old pieces is not very common. Perhaps the price of those items kills the business opportunities here in the country, I don't know...
At least there is still some handmade culture in fairs and such.

Thanks for the updates. Hope Sandra's nerve settles down. Glad a crises was averted and the truck passed it MOT. It's like it was meant to be that the inspector poking caused the brake thingy so that you weren't caught off guard with failure while you were driving! Molly, so glad you had a week of the retro surprises that you admire so much, they all have beautiful designs, don't they? Be blessed🌟.
Thank you Ruth, yes was a crazy week and the days are shorter for us right now with the extreme heat during the days meaning we escape the heat in doors until late afternoon when it starts to cool off a little.

@FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife I have a 1999 T4, owned for over 17 years. I would not part with it for a modern van. The only issues I've had in 100,000 miles were a snapped alternator belt (my fault as long overdue) and seized calliper pins on the rear near side (my fault again for not greasing them when I did rear pads).
Prices are appreciating quite rapidly now, I can finally say I drive a classic VW haha.
From my experience sweeping water is peak Portuguese. At least based on my parents and neighbours with cleaning driveways, garages, decks. Only one neighbour has the big floor squeegee for their garage.
The e-bike looks neat, was just talking to my wife that we probably need to have e-bikes for my parents place on Flores, a car is too much for how much time we would use it.

@@FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife woohoo :D I kinda enjoy the portuguese versions, gives a feel for the language... still dread for when I get there and need to learn it (learn better face to face so I can be corrected when I make mistakes instead of continually make the wrong mistake then it is hard to unlearn when using an app) but listening to it and get a feel for it is really helpful
Be aware some apps are Brazilian Portuguese not Portuguese and that won't help you unfortunately.

Can't really pass comments on this one apart from the Oleanda which isn't just poisonous , its the most deadly plant on this planet and puzzles me how the sheep and goats know , I've got some big oleander shrub / trees here and the sheep and goats never ever touch them , nibble them at all , its amazing how they know not to touch , even the lambs and kids don't try them out for a taste
Yes even the little ones that we watch, they will gently put a leaf in their mouth and then leave it, it is like the taste tells them, that and watching mum 🙂

Lots of people seem to collect drinking water from publicly tapped springs.
We are off grid with water but our local water is bottled by Fonte da Fraga, one of Portugal's leading spring water companies, so we drink fresh spring water, better than anything out of a tap 👍
@@antoniodasilva1230 we do not have water from the municipal. We use spring water for our house to wash clothes etc and shower but we drink water from our local fonte and bottled fonte da fraga water.
