Mitakuye Oyasin, Pidamaya!
WOW! Awesome video. Thank You for this lesson. A lot of questions were just answered. But, I will keep this video for regular viewing. Maybe someday I can make a Tipi for my family. Awesome job for the both of you ( Camera Person and Construction Person ).
good bee. thanks for shooting through the video. you were so cute to look at. and funny
Thank-you so much ❤.
Thanks Dale..great video..and may your daughters soul RIP.
Thank You Dale & Crew for the very best instructional "Tipi Setup Demonstration" I've ever seen. I've read countless books on this subject, but I am also a visual learner at best. Having read some good accounts, I knew what I was seeing here to be true and accurate. I wish I still painted portraits, I would love to paint Angelica Aadland as she was such a beautiful Lakota Woman. Best Wishes, Jay
i really like the look of the smoke hole. it must be lovely to look out at the stars through it.
Thanks very informative!!!!
THAT IS A REALLY IMPRESSIVE STONE TOOL YOU USED FOR DRIVING STAKES.
Dale has spent most of his life researching the Dakota tradition. Thank you for watching Steve!
Thank you
Nice tipi!
And the women of the tribes set these up.and take them down when having to run from war.Strong people.
Thank you very much.
I build a Tippee for my family and the neigborhood children. I think i will buid the Tippee the same steps for any time! 😉
Thx and Regards from Germany
Спасибо, понятно и доходчиво ))
Angelica was absolutely beautiful. I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you, Dale & team.
I am in the process of making my own tipi and have been reading The Indian Tipi. It has slightly confused and overwhelmed me, however. I am much more of a visual learner and this video has helped me greatly! So thank you! :)
David
Hopefully Dale will be coming out with something new soon. He's such a source of knowledge. Thank you for watching David!
have you looked at the book :Tipis, Tepees, Teepees: History and Design of the Cloth Tipi It has better directions and patterns than The Indian Tipi.
COOL!!
well, that makes sense then
Just wondering why you wrapped the rope on the outside of your cover. I’ve always wrapped my poles before I put my cover on with the lift pole. Even when I look at the Laubin’s book, it is the same way I do it.
0:26 I've got my own version my friend ❤️🇬🇧💯 1:04
good video ! all this setup tipi from few videos up here looks almost rocket science...I was thinking to buy one....but now when I see how hard work is this setup....not sure any more... ;)
Go for it! Make it your own, find a community to put one up together. It'll totally be worth it. :)
Tks.
Dael hello hope you are fine in the company of his entire family, I have some questions for you. when you say 18 ft is the height of the teepee? and how many stakes placed around or how far are I hope and I can help with that, greetings from mexico
What type paint do you use ?
what did you use to cure or seal your poles....
☀️☀️☀️🦅🦅🦅
at 42:40 i saw a bird fly in there. :)
+Grady Bledsoe I saw that! It was the Tipi Spirit entering to Bless the Tipi!
Lesson 1: never step over tipi poles
Thank you so much! I wish we could get an American Indian to run for president, He would win.
Can't see you locking dor! Or latching.
why are you walking all over the canvas like that? doesn't it ruin the canvas eventually
Dale had taken his boots off before walking on the canvas. When we are preparing for a setup we usually lay it out to check for any rips/tears or wears. We haven't seen any connection between us walking on the canvas to any weak spots.
