- Triax is a multifilament string that uniquely includes polyester filaments in its composition for spin, durability and control. In this review, Stephen tests Triax in a full bed at 55lbs (lockout machine) and in a hybrid with GrappleSnake Tour Sniper mains at 55/55lbs (lockout machine) in his Volkl V8 Pro. Beckett tested Triax in a full bed in his Yonex VCore 95 at 55lbs (constant pull machine).

thanks for the review!
Been a poly player forever, but really loving this string. Gives my arm a break and not noticing any balls flying long. I play with the Yonex Ezone 98 2020 and strung 16 1.33 at 52 pounds.
Love the videos!
we were quite impressed with the control of this string relative to other multis!
Had a hit with this morning and absolutely loved it. Think technifibre are onto something with this. Used the 1.33 gauge indoors so might not feel as good outdoors when the wind and dodgy bounces are taken into account but I felt like I was getting full bed of poly control with only a slight drop off on spin. I use a Prince heritage tour 100 with the o3 ports as it helps my tennis elbow, I’ve got the other 2 gauges as well so will string them up tonight and see what’s what.
Totally agree with your analysis
Thanks for the review. Is Triax, in your view, a viable alternative to a basic hybrid (poly/multi) for 4.0 player when it comes to control?
so hard to hear you over the music
Great review. Thank you will try a full bed. I have a question that's been bugging me. If the numbers on Tennis Warehouse for stiffness rating are the same (Triax has 162) with all things the same (gauge, tension etc) if you compare a Multi vs. a Poly, will they have the same comfort level or will the Poly always cause more stress on elbows, wrist etc. because of the material. Just curious. Thank you and keep making the videos!
Thanks for the question Sammy! It’s not something I’m an expert on, but I would say the multi would still be more stretchy, so therefore being more soft. Thanks for watching :)
You and Gill Gross should have a match!! Although I don't think he'd have a chance. 😄
That backhand is fire 🔥🔥
Di you try it as hybrid with poly? Which is better fullbed/ hybrid from someone who is a poly user wanting the same poly snapback at a more softer feel
Hi sir what tension do you suggest for radical pro (2021)?
it would be great for a comparison to say NRG2 or X one biphase or something else. Or a different multi like Velocity MLT or even a gut like VS
Yet another stellar video by The Slice
Excellent review! Why that music though?
Hey I like that music, lol!
I’m switching poly (WC Ultra Cable) at 42 lbs..what should I string this at. I know it’s a totally different animal.
Thanks! You are switching to a poly or away from?
The Slice Tennis
Well I’m playing with both in different racquets but have been playing with poly or poly hybrids last couple years. Thought I’d try a whole bed of this. Just got it last night so I’ll try today!
Just posted my review of the Dunlop black widow string. You have a chance to try that one? Good budget option
It's good for a player that is transitioning from nylon hybrids or wants a more forgiving stringbed. I don't love the tension maintenance out of that one though. -Beckett
The Slice Tennis spot on
Never really been a fan of multi-filament strings myself but looks pretty sweet
Worth a try if you are coming from poly and need a more comfy setup
Cant hear a word your saying! Crazy!
Would you say this is best strung mid tension printed on the frame? For me that's 55lbs (50-60lbs)
That's usually a safe bet. I personally wasn't able to try it at different weights, so I can't give a detailed answer on that. Thanks for watching!
@@theslicetennis thx
How does this compare to tecnifibre Hdmx?
Never played that!
That slight pink shirt is sick man. Brand?
Uomo Sport! Use our code SLICE10 if you're going to grab some. Best tennis clothes I've ever worn
Why that music? -.- :D
wonder how this compared to x-one biophase?....i wish multi would last little longer!
Hmm never played with that. Who makes the X-one biophase?
@@theslicetennis It's actually Tecnifibre and another popular multifilament string. It's one my fav string mainly for the comfort/softness and power. But I'm eager to try out Triax but it's not available in Canada yet.
My bad, it's spelled x-one biphase
Thank you for through review. How would you compare Triax to Head Velocity MLT?
It’s hard to hear you over the music
Background music needs to be dialed down a tad. Otherwise decent video.
Yeah there was a technical glitch :(
Music is way too loud
Durability ?
Not as good as a poly/nylon hybrid, but better than almost any other multifiliment
@Federer K Yes, but mostly because you don't have to worry about kinks or moisture
What the hell is all the background noise ???????
Music not needed
@Thinkforyourself TotalTennis dont know why they have music louder then their voices
Technical glitch
in retrospect, I may have over rated this string's spin... I was just feeling amazing from destroying Stephen earlier that day
@Thinkforyourself TotalTennis I'm flattered that you think my body can go 3 full sets haha
Thinkforyourself TotalTennis I like it! Beckett is scared of going the distance with Boughton ;)
@@theslicetennis so true. Fast 4 is all I have in the tank
@Thinkforyourself TotalTennis just the same as i feel anytime a win a point on a net cord!
Sound is very bad. And the video looks very commercial, desapointed with this review.
You really ruined the video with that distracting background music. I stopped watching after 2 mins as the music was so annoying.
