Just changed my ac AC electronic control valve last week. Took it to a shop to evac the refrigerant R134A. Then I changed the valve took it back to the shop they filled up the R134A they evacuated. Worked great. Got the valve from Ebay. AC works like brand new. 2013 Kia OPTIMA LX 96k miles. 39° F after the change.

Did they have to add oil to the system when they recharged? Or does the oil stay in when they evacuate the freeon?

Also I heard that you can damage the compressor by driving it with no freeon in the system....you had no issue? Maybe it was a short drive?
I heard since it is clutchless compressor it is always running and if you don't have refrigerant in the system then the oil won't circulate and the compressor will be damaged
