Basically Takahata said that he figured Alucard's personality from thinking that to remain sane while being immortal he must have developed an extremely morbid sense of humor. The script soon wrote itself.
Fun fact: the scene where Alucard comes up the river on the boat is actually a reference to a scene in the actual book Dracula, where he arrives in London on the ghost ship Demeter with fifty coffins filled with his native soil. AirierGames Yeah, the anime is actually full of various cultural references that can be very easy to miss if you haven’t researched them. Like that shadow dog thing Alucard has is the “Dark Hound of Baskerville”, in reference to the Sherlock Holmes story “The Hound of the Baskerville’s”. There’s a couple more, but some of them might be spoilers. You really should check out Overly Sarcastic Productions by the way, they’re really good!

TFS always does such a great job with their abridges.
It's crazy the level they regularly reach. Definitely a high bar for other Abridged creators.
That said, I can think of a few other new series that do rise to that level, too.
Their progress was killer watching episode 1 compated to the latest installments is so weird now.
Yeah, Alucard did say that he "liked her" when talking about Heinkel. It's not mentioned in the manga or the anime, but the side story of the manga does show us that Heinkel is actually a girl(though dressed as a guy in priest clothing).

I absolutely LOVE TFS's use of the Big O soundtrack in this episode (When Alucard is having a moment with Seras, and then when Anderson arrives). Fit SO perfectly.

10:24 was great, but I still wish they'd kept is as "My Seras Victoria". Apart from that an amazing episode, my only other small gripes would be, I think it's a shame to bring the devil into it, rather than keeping Alucard as mankind's darkest creation and the "we will live forever in God's grace" is very different from the damming themselves so they can continue to slay hell's denizens on their home turf.

fun fact in this episode Drakula well when hes not Alucard has actually the first time in the whole show called Seras by her real name and not just police girl she finally gets respect i love that moment ^_^
What I love more than anything! is how yours and her reaction are. In a way. A complement of each other, I mean she is like in a suportive roll, at least in this one, because she is like there, as a girlfriend sharing what you likes are !!!

This one was. I had done a live reaction to episode 8 the night it came out. And this was actually a clip of a livestream where Pretty Guardian and I rewatched the entire series in one sitting. I just broke it up to make it easier for people to find the individual segments.

If you were going to react to this with Pretty Guardian, why watch it by yourself the first time? You can do it of course, but the reactions always seem more.... disingenuous the second time around. 🙁
This was actually part of a livestream we both did once the new episode came out. I broke it up into separate episodes to make it easier for people to find (the original livestream was us mostly talking to everyone live for about as much time as we spent watching the episodes).

Not quite. I went back and cut out everything but the bloopers from the live stream version. And put up all the individual reactions so they're easier to find on their own. it just took awhile for the actual processing section go through it so I left up for about a day before doing that.
