Thx to Jeffrey Jacobs for letting me use footage from his fantastic Jon Dobson Documentary: • A SIDEWALK ASTRONOMER ... - Zábava
Rory's videos are like rare celestial events - you have to wait a while but when you finally see them it blows your mind!
Agreed!
Agreed!
Yep!
I agree hahah, soon as I see a notification for his uploads I get stoked.
relax…
Massive congrats to the young lady who discovered the planetary neb, she was rightfully so elated and it just goes to show how much amateurs can contribute to our understanding of space! Brilliant!
What is her name?

@@AnthonyScandurra thank you. It sounded like Rory kept saying "Leafy"
@@veerastro7969 Old enough to count old enough to mount
Astrobiscuit rarely uploads in his channel but every video is really well made, not boring, and you can learn a lot about astronomy.
that's why I like his videos, He's the reason I got a telescope I like how He rarely uploads that means it would be a great video.
@@NorthenCaliRefuse He's the reason I got a telescope too. I didn't realize how emotionally moving astronomy is.
It’s easy for some to underestimate the amount of time it takes to create even mediocre content. Really appreciate the work Rory and team puts in to these masterpieces. Thanks! PS, just bought myself an 80mm F5 Achro (I didn’t even know what that was last week 😂)
The editing is really top notch
He's the best
I got to meet John Dobson at my local club's observatory about 15 years ago. He was really fun, gracious, and obviously loved to talk with the stargazing public. He even autographed the inside of our observatory's roll-off roof. Great memories. I'm a new subscriber and I love your channel, Astrobiscuit. Clear skies!
cool thx Jackie
That's awesome
Noice
Finally, an Astrobiscuit video after ages! So excited seriously. But I'm already worried about how long I'll have to wait till the next one comes out lol
Omg I'm so excited it's so rare that you upload and when you do it's brilliant
Exactly!
Words out of my mouth
I love your piece about John Dobson. I live in San Francisco and have a 10-in collapsible dobsonian. I take it out onto the street corner several nights a month to show the planets to passers-by. Unfortunately John Dobson and his sidewalk astronomy organization are no longer around, but I am proud to be following in those footsteps. It's well worth standing on the corner for 2 to 3 hours just for the reactions I get from people seeing the rings of Saturn when they we're just planning to go for dinner with a friend.
sounds cool, its something i might try in London
Where do you normally set up?
A guy in Austin did that all the time was really nice, so clean it looked fake lol
YES, NEW VIDEO!
I’m not into astronomy at all, but I am sucked into the sheer passion. I love every bit of this.
Beware the pipeline
We're on a rock floating through the universe and we really have no idea what's actually going on. You're into astronomy whether you like it, or not.
My excitement for a new Astrobiscuit vids is very similar to waking up for Saturday morning cartoons as a child. Love it!
As always, amazing content. Thank you for making our hobby so accessible, easy to understand, and fun! You and your crew are AWESOME!!!
Thank you Astrobiscuit!!!
I've watched every video of the @Astrobiscuit channel at least 3 times ( most over 10 times ) and what can I say... I think this is the most underrated
and most entertaining Astro youtube channel in the history of the internet. I really appreciate all of the Astro videos and I think I might developed an
addiction lol. Thanks for everything Rory! :D
Clear Skies!

Rory, these videos are brilliant. Seriously man, as somebody who's finally found the means to build the humble arsenal I've been dreaming of for years, your videos have been indispensable. I've been watching for years, admiring your work, and dreaming of the day that I can manage getting a decent setup. Now that that time has come, videos like this are a massive help.
I've always been dirt poor. This hobby started with a cheap Newt reflector I inherited. Shortly after, I got access to a 70's C8 and learned planetary from your videos and others, and got some exceptional images with my thrifted 1200d. I lost access to the C8 nearly 2 years ago and have had a void in my life since, that I partially filled with untracked Milky Way shoots. I recently acquired an EdgeHD 9.25 through a generous trade, and am picking up a mount for it tomorrow through another generous offer. This community is incredibly kind! I also got lucky trading for a CPC1100-XLT that will be in my possession soon. All that's left is a small refractor for wide shoots, and I'll basically be set for life as far as OTA's go.
Last thing I want to say is that I appreciate your humorous tone. Most people in this community are very dry and to-the-point. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it's refreshing to see somebody exude the joy and excitement that I feel from this hobby. It's infectious and really motivates me to get out there.
Thank you, Rory! I genuinely appreciate you!
The Biscut lives!
Binged all your videos when I found your channel and didn't notice the slow upload speed due to how long it takes to get all footage amd make the video. I've just been patiently waiting for a new video and the time has finally come and was worth the wait.
So glad to see more content coming from you!
Your videos inspire me to finally go and do this, thanks + epic soundtrack as always
I haven't seen a new video in a long time
Glad you're back!
Very nice to watch a new video from you. love your content. Keep it up!
I can't explain how much I enjoyed watching this video. I just recently got into astrophotography, mostly taking photos with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The quality of this video is astonishing and full of all the necessary information but access to even more. This video was very entertaining and easy to watch, so thank you so much!
cheers Michael👍
Dude, youre release days are hollidays in my calendar.
And Ricktenstein killing it on this one 🕺🏾
I’ve only started just watching your channel. However, it is by far my favorite channel of all of CZcams thus far congratulations and thank you.
Absolute quality as always brilliant start to the weekend 👏
Sweet,Looking Forward To It
Just ordered my first telescope, an 8 inch dobsonian. So excited for it to arrive! Also great to see you recommend them too
hope you used my affiliate links they really help me make videos👍
Sorry had to order it from some other website because astroshop's shipping into switzerland for some reason would have cost me almost 200 quid for a package of this weight. Amazon didnt ship to switzerland either. Love your content though!
so refreshing, love the channel!
Great video! Happy to be a nerd on your discord, always wonderful to bring more people into astronomy.
glad to have you👍
I only discovered your channel yesterday and I'm already racing through it. Awesome stuff, lots of info that I wish I'd had 20 years ago. Plus you seem like a really nice bloke too.
Great video and once again super insightful content with a good dose of humor! Looking at the more antique telescope designs I was thinking that maybe a good challenge to take on for you would be to take an antique telescope, select a DSO or something interesting people were looking at waaay back in the days and try to capture it through the antique telescope with a modern camera!
HE'S BACK
This was super entertaining and interesting. Thanks AB!
This was my very first time watching @Astrobiscuit. I had a conversation with a work colleague of mine and we talked about astro photography among other things and he told me about this page. I have always wanted to get into looking at the stars properly, especially from one of my places on the island of Boracay in the Philippines which I am very lucky to own and just on a normal night you can just look up at the sky and see just the most amazing sights. I am now going to binge watch many more videos so thank you very much. Your first video was amazing and I cannot wait to watch some more. 🙂
Dammit Rory! You've done it again. Your videos are amazing.
This is simply the most entertaining Astro channel ever!!! Love it.❤
Can't wait to see It!!! So long since your last video!!!!
Glad to see the small Tak after its unfortunate fall earlier this year! Awesome, awesome video Rory!
Great video! I use an 8" newt as well! Glad to see it's getting recognised for its power!
Love these videos Astrobiscuit 😃
Your videos are very professionally created. Well done!! Your enthusiasm is great too!
Saved this vid until I had some peace and quiet, I love this community, A massive well done for the Neb find, Amazing!!! Brilliant as usual Mr Biscuit, big shout out to all the people that make help the Biscuitmiester bring these videos to us.👍😉
great content as always!!! Never stop
Absolutely amazing vídeo Rory!!! Have a very good christmass too!!!
Rory I just came by to press the like button.. will watch the video later or tomorrow, I know for sure it will be fantastic!
Another great video. I love refractors, have an ED80 and ED50 (evoguide), and also a GSO 8" F5 which sometimes I'm too lazy to take it out but when I do, I get really nice results. Congrats to the young lady from Germany for her discovery. BTW, the optician gentleman looks like the right doctor for your tak60, perhaps you might ask him to have a look into it? Funny detail: when you said Rho Ophiuchi, TY captions said: row of UK. Merry Christmas!!
im not even in to Astronomy, but i love this channel and the good vibe emiting from it. thanks
Superb work Rory! And so happy for Lyaphine, inspirational! :-D
thx buddy
It's always a good day when astrobiscuit posts a new video

Great watch! Thanks.
Amazingly well produced !!! Keep up the great work. I am your newest fan 🙂
I'm looking forward to rewarding myself with this new episode of His Royal Biscuitness after getting my chores done tomorrow morning. Still waiting for the resolution of that Svbony cliffhanger from the travel telescope episode, though.
Love it ! More videos please !
I enjoy these videos so much!
Bass, space & humour this channel is golden
Finally back at it!!!
Great video. Worth waiting for. Clear skies
cool
Love your work once again, Rory!
Catch you on the discord again sometime soon.
Cheers from the AstroDad!
Good innit... ;)
Wow December got here fast!
Rory I got way to exited when I seen this in my feed! Love the video man and you have the best discord!
Ahh thx man, and the discord is really thx to great mods and great nerds
@@Astrobiscuit the nerds in there have saved alot of my images with their insane processing skills!
Can wait hurrryyyyy
Great video, thank you so much for it. Es Reid is a great chap and a proper gent!
That was a great video and hopefully progress is being made with the travel scope.
yeh travel scope should be amazing... fingers crossed we get it finished
It’s alive! 😋
What is?
Mr Biscuit…
I came across your channel last week and it ignited a long dormant desire i had to get into stargazing. Your content is both witty and informative. Very entertaining. I bought a celestron astromaster 80az and wondering if it'll be any good for viewing neighbouring planets?
Great stuff man!
AstroBiscuit and King Richtenstien are both totally legendary chaps. This is by far my favourite CZcams channel ever. Top quality content, music and entertainment.
I do watch a couple other CZcamsrs for astro stuff too. They may have more subs than here but they also laughed at me for suggesting they do a budget/cheap old scope video. I can only assume using top end gear all the time has made it so they cant or don't want to fit in the additional knowledge for older scopes.... but still video content is supply and demand. There is a huge demand for videos exactly like this.
Thank you!
@@Riktenstein P.S You sir do not get enough praise and recognition for your talents :) Because of you watching AstroBiscuits videos is the perfect combination of music that propells the narrative, tells the story and evokes emotional response. Genius work.
@@Wigalot Thanks again, much appreciated.
Can’t wait Astro love your videos from Manchester
Very entertaining and interesting. Thank you.
after 3 months he is back with another great video.
The Baader semiapo filter revolutionized my Celestron 120mmx1000mm refractor Orion 120mm short tube and removed the blue to nothing noticeable. Wonderful and use them on a LX 70 EQ motorized mount.
Quality video mate. Some people think I'm the cool dad that's into astrophotography, after looking at the results that is. However, once I explain the process, I'm the dad that's good at putting people to sleep. I find that a rather good accomplishment on my part.
Yay new video!!
I already can't wait!
Nice video. The Dobsonian mount is - well, a system of mounting (usually) a Newtonian reflector. Regards.
HAVENT EVEN SEEN IT AND IM EXCITED - SO HAPPY
So glad you shared your best, which I agree with, without throwing shade on the rest. Co-operation above competition. While I’m building my 10” newt, hope to contribute to BAT one day, I still love my old 60mm achromat. Gave me one of my best Jupiter nights ever.
Thanks Rory.
thx fella
Oh Man! Christmas has come early!! Santa Biscuit is here with the goods!
Fantastic video. Inspired me. I love the Pulp Fiction shirt.
amazing! and thank you!
Great Video! For the curious, the nebula person is Sophia Paulin. She is the Teleskop Service (TS) Ambassador, and really takes her astro seriously with 100hrs exposure on some Astrobin images such as M81/M82 under username lyaphine. I have been imaging 5 yrs, and in 2 yrs she has more hours. Maybe my weather issue vs Germany.
New subscriber, love your videos so much. Love your enthusiasm and love for space. Me and my 8 year old daughter Abigail would love a scope. Maybe one day. Thanks from Bill, rural Hertfordshire.
Very, VERY pro production value with a TON of humor and interest! Documentary-style of a top-notch! Worthy of BBC or National Geographic.
Twice this week I've seen my mug on some sort of mass media. This is great, Rory. What a good idea for a vid! Well done.
clearly you're destined for stardom
;-)) Nice one again! Enjoyed it very much.
Great video as always. Would love to get your take on where Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrains fall in this spectrum. The Cassegrains would capture less light, have minor spherical aberrations but they are more portable. Could something like the Celestron 6se or 8se be a more expensive / portable option for viewing and astrophotography?
Pretty awesome stuff. I started the hobby back in 2016, but have been doing it at a very slow pace. I have thought about dabbling in astrophotography a few times, but don't think I have the patience for all the image editing afterwards. That and I have no desire to tinker around with computers hooked up to my telescopes. I suppose I could always just go with a DLSR to avoid the computers, but again, don't think I have the patience for editing. Still, may give a simple setup a try sometime.
Outstanding!
!
Wow! Glad to see the good old Newtonian get some love here. It has actually further encouraged me to buy an EQ6-R pro to put my 200p on! Should be a killer combination once I get it ordered (and bring myself to spend the best part of 2 grand on it ...) Currently on a homemade Dob mount, but I just want a bit more out of it for photography and have the ability to track things properly.
OMG new video ! made my day and i havent even watched it yet
Nice. I'm kinda interested in getting a new scope and having my old one tuned. But my old one is a homemade reflector telescope my great grandpa made sometime in the 60's-70's. The aperture is 6 inches and the tube is about 4 feet long. Still one of the best scopes I have used but an absolute hassle to set up and position.
I'm currently building a 20" F3 telescope. I have already done 2 six inch ones and a 12" also. I started less than a year ago.
Cheers mate! Long time no video! Let’s goooo! 🥃🤙📸
