In Maribor, Slovenia there is a complete rework happening on their public transport. A lot of bus lines will change and there will be 6 Main lines and 13 connecting lines. Also every bus stop will be upgraded with a shelter and 9 more electric buses will be bought till the end of the year 2024 and they will be used on line P18 and G1.

Greetings. Great video. I actually live in Winnipeg. And, I am a person with a disability that required me to use an electric wheelchair. The intersection in the video, Portage avenue and Main Street, is where two 8+ lane roads meet. When talking about closing the underpass, the cost of maintaining it and other things, no one seems to talk about the amount of motor vehicle traffic and how dangerous this intersection will be, without any traffic modifications And by the way, the city didn't really mention accessibility until some disability advocacy grous mentioned it.

I just thought, without redesigning that monstrosity of an intersection allowing pedestrians to cross there isn't exactly "accessibility".

You can take a look at Portugal's high speed rail link between Porto and Lisbon, which is going to start construction in some time. It is going to improve the travel time between these two cities a lot and have the possibility to integrate with the standard speed line.

Those trolleybuses are only temporary solution for Prague airport, there will be train line from Masarykovo Nádraží (city centre) to V.H. airport in 2030 (hopefully…). Construction of some parts already started in city centre (Masarykovo nádraží and Praha - Bubny is curently under construction).

CZcams seems to think my comment is spam because it includes several links but there are several other BRT standard bus projects happening in Boston I can send to you if you are interested, Including one announced since your last video, and one announced just a couple months ago as well.
I must say I agree with you in your last video that many of these routes could support light rail or trams. In fact, all of these specific ones at one point did and BHA was also one of the last to be removed. It is truly a tremendous shame that we tore out the street car tracks and replaced them with buses, rather than protecting their right of ways from cars. I do wish there was serious discussion of bringing back rails on these corridors, as you said some already have the ridership to support it, but at least the dedicated busways get the buses out of traffic and maybe one day provide a clear place to put the rails back in.

1-Even thouh you have 30% higher capacity, you still have 0 dedicated bagage space
2-Between 2028 and 2030 there will be new train line conecting the airport to the city center, afterwards the bus route will be either shortened to Ruzyne shopping center or completely canceled, and these trolleybuses would be moved to the other lines, but as the city changedd its goverment recently, its not looking like the troleybus routes will be built

I live in Melbourne, Australia and there some big things happening in public transport over here. for the past 10 years many at-grade railway crossings have been removed or are in the process of being removed. The Metro Tunnel is scheduled to open in September, but that is quite an optimistic target to say the least.
And along with the opening of the tunnel there will be changes to our tram, bus and railway network. The first 2 are not so obvious yet but there is a lot of speculation about what the changes might be.

i really wished that Nigeria took the old H5 (or was it H6?) subways that they were getting secondhand from the Toronto Subway. Similar to how the Philippine National Railways bought secondhand KiHa subway vehicles from Tokyo, but unpowered and pulled by locomotive on the aging Manila Commuter line.
Would makes more sense as a commuter vehicle than a proposed high speed rail vehicle more akin to a intercity service.

I don't think I understand the Wisconsin thing. I mean, I understand the words you're saying, and I'm sure you've got the facts correct, but it makes no sense whatsoever, right? The trains were ordered and built, and they had a federal government grant to build the line, but they decided not to go ahead with it? Why? Was there a problem with the route that it was going to take, acquiring the land, environmental damage that it was going to cause, or going through indigenous people's sacred land... there must be some reason to pull the plug on the project.

    • @cityforall

    • @WiscoNortherner
      @WiscoNortherner Před 2 měsíci +1

2010 was around the time conservatives in the US were becoming extremely polarizing. That mixed in with both an extreme amount of money from oil magnates to attempting to kill any projects that would pull people away from car dependency and a state legislature that has historically been extremely hostile to the state’s largest city, enacting law after law over the years that only affect Milwaukee and take away most abilities it has to self govern or grow.
So all that in mind, Scott Walker was hellbent on killing rail infrastructure, especially that which benefited Milwaukee. So he rejected the federal grant for a higher speed rail line, leaving Madison with zero intercity rail connections, and defaulted on the contract, which they had to pay for anyway due to the lawsuit. And we didn’t even keep the trains. All to get a “win” for an anti transit lobby and anti-Milwaukee rural voters.
But that’s not all! He also repealed laws allowing for regional transit authorities, killing a commuter rail service from Milwaukee to Kenosha, and got a law passed saying that Milwaukee was the only city in the state that couldn’t make a utility company move its infrastructure on their dime for public works projects, a direct attempt to hamper the city’s development of a streetcar line.
It’s a real shitshow over here!
