First and best game I ever saw. I'm American and I randomly one night was looking at a sports stream site and saw a link to this game, not ever having seen a rugby game and not knowing it was a final. I just saw two interesting team names. I clicked and watched the whole game and got hooked on the NRL and immediately became a Roosters supporter.

As a Manly supporter this is so hard to watch, 2 trys for Roosters were forward passes, touchys let them go as well. It was a great game though.

What a classic Manly team, especially the back line - Brett Stewart, Kieran Foran, Cherry-Evans, Jamie Lyon, Steve Matai, George Tafua and Wolfman. Im not a Manly fan but I always loved watching those players together.

The commentators said the Roosters wingers didn't do much because of Manly's defence but what about the Roosters defence Manly's outside backs didn't make any breaks either

great game. but i remember watching this back in 2013 and laughing at the shocking refereeing calls, like that try from Guerra (obvious forward pass in the lead up)
Didn't even know who played the 2013 NRL grand final. Never followed a minute of the entire season, and for years before and since. The only Easts / Manly grand final since 1972 ? They were the preliminary finalists in 1975, if only because Easts let St. George first into the grand final. But, then again, St. George must have done Manly in the first major semi for that to happen. Say, same top 3 for 1972 and 1975; Easts, Manly, St. George. And, get this, Easts and Manly the top 2 in the minor premiership for 1972, 1974, and 1975.
I had not watched this since the actual gf. I'd forgotten that if not for a few unlucky moments and an inept wolfman Manly looked the better team.
