I remember thinking the selectors were nuts for choosing Jason Moodie instead of Anthony Minichiello, who was the form winger at the time. Carlaw brushed Moodie like he was nothing when he scored that try. Moodie never played Origin again and Minichiello went on to play fullback.
Carlaw would of brushed off minichiello aswell....
I haven’t even watched this yet. But I am keen to look back at the good ole raging bull!
Jeez we were spoilt for choice for sport in 2002. State of origin, World Cup soccer and Wimbledon.
Um yeah, you are aware state of origin and Wimbledon happen every year and the soccer World Cup happens every four years so by your logic we were spoilt for choice in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022, nothing that special about 2002.
@@jamestayla4701 my comment was more about the quality of competition we had. I am well aware of the frequency of events. I lost my passion for the olympics, tennis and world cup soccer and the brad fitler years of coaching origin was dogshit.

When I saw it first, tele- text said about Ron Goodness and 2000 tribes? But Rabbits Ray Warren in 12:18 is referencing Penrith Inside Center (3/4) Ryan Girdler's record of 5 tries in the year 2000 state of origin series, which at the time he made the referrence Lote Tuquiri had just equalled it with his 5th try....

The old guernsey's were fabric of the time, phased out due to advances in fabric design (nylon polyester), mainly introduced due to guernsey grabbing and guernsey slinging tackles like the one Tallis did to Hodgeson
