- For many users, HUB-8 is often used to route MIDI messages from MIDI IN/MIDI OUT ports. This video is a tutorial on how to configure the routing of HUB-8.
Notice:
1. HUB-8 needs to be connected to a computer before it can be used.
2. On the MAC, MIDI Group1 can only be routed to MIDI Group2 or other USB MIDI devices, and each MIDI port can only be routed once.
3. But on Windows, each MIDI port can be routed multiple times.

If the unit retained settings without having to connect to a computer every time , the multitude of music creators who have a DAWless setup would buy it… a bigger market share for Doremidi?
Hello, thank you for your feedback, we will launch similar products soon.
Do these configurations persist, even if I unplug from the host computer and use the groups for MIDI merge and thru? Can I still use host 1 and 2 USB ports for USB-midi controllers?
Hello,
HUB-8 cannot be used alone without the computer, it needs to be connected to the computer before it can be used.
After HUB-8 is connected to the computer to configure MIDI routing, the configuration will be retained when reconnected.
For Windows systems, MIDI-OX software needs to be restarted.
USB HOST1/2 can connect USB MIDI devices.
It would great if it worked standalone! It would be great if there was a iPadOS app too! 😅
Will this work with IPadOS?
Yes, but you need a USB-A to USB-C/Lighting OTG converter.
In addition, there is no software that can route MIDI on iPadOS.
this work like midi thru?
Hello, yes, this needs to be connected to a PC, and the MIDI message direction is configured in the PC
On Win - When quitting Midi OX all configuration is lost. Is that meant to be?
Currently, routing of MIDI messages requires keeping MIDI-OX open in Win.
In the future, we will release new firmware to configure the data direction of the MIDI five-pin port (without a computer), but the direction of the HOST port cannot be configured.
