Thank you for the link. Much respect, sir.
Thanks to everyone for the lovely comments. Great to speak to the team at Ladbible, amazing professional people.
Hi David, I’m from Glasgow and vividly remember when Vikki went missing. Thank you for catching this beast.
Do you think Tobin was also Bible John?
Thank you for your work Mr. Swindle.
@@garywilliams7086100%
Ur a legend sir. Please give your thoughts on the Bible John link with Tobin would love to hear your side
Do you remember Jackie McLaughlan (Gallagher),Paisley 1996?
i love how he prioritizes the victims, remembers their names and their stories. i feel like most of the time the murderers are the ones that are talked about way more than the victims.
A true good cop does it for the victims. A not so good cop does it for the name and recognition.
@annika.a that really touched me too (that he remembered the names of every victim). Feel lots of respect for this guy.
What a genuinely nice guy! Could listen to him talk for hours. Can tell he’s so proud of his career
His show is touring the uk just now it’s absolutely brilliant. Such an interesting speaker and he comes out to speak to everyone at the end too.
Unlike so many detectives in his position, he seems to have so much compassion and light about him. 🥰
Subtitles wouldn't have hurt
@@samuelkeogh1058they have subtitles…
I am humbled by Mr Swindle. I was a detective in the Met and retired in the early 1990's, and I had forgotten that there were men like him.
In the last few years I have been embarrassed and furious and ashamed at the way police have behaved. Thank you for your professionalism Mr Swindle.
I think it’s great when people who work/ have worked at the police can look critically at that organization and wish for change. It feels like especially in America not many people are capable of that tho but of course I could be wrong.
You voted for it
Have fun in your sharia Englandistan no-speech police state
Thank heavens for people like this gentleman. His eyes looked so sad at beginning, the things he must have seen over his career. Grateful for his service 🇬🇧
I could listen to David Swindle for hours. He's so respectful, knowledgeable and interesting. You can tell that his work was a life's calling, a vocation. I wish he'd do a podcast with some other former/retired SIO's and Forensic investigators. He comes across as a throughly decent bloke.I wish him all the best Great interview, thanks.
The police get a lot of bad press… it’s people like you that remind the rest of us that we’re blessed to have officers like you solving the horrendous crimes the rest of us do.
Excellent interview and great insight.
The police have a bad rep because of their behaviour. No doubt though that there are great apples like David among the rotten bunch. I only hope that one day the rotten bunch will be called out and won't be able to hide anymore.
So all the police brutality is ok then, since we've got one good police officer in front of us? All the other shitty or downright corrupt investigators don't matter as long as this one guy is ok?
I like this guy, don't get me wrong, but the police are far too flawed and far too necessary to make sweeping statements either way.
@@CoRLex-jh5vx I’m not making sweeping statements. Where? I wrote the police get a lot of bad press… they do and often even deserve it… however I specifically spoke about this officer and didn’t in anyway give the force as a whole a clean bill of health.
@@DailyDamage "they get a lot of bad press" with no clarification that they deserve it 99% of the time definitely comes across as you defending them from all wrongdoing, whether that was your intention or not. 'Bad press' puts the fault on the press, not on the people they're reporting on for doing the shitty things that are then reported on.
Never argue with someone who believes the majority of the police are corrupt. You’ll never win.
What a brilliant honest detective. You will be sincerely missed by your colleges now you have retired. Thank you for catching those evil monsters who should have hanged for what they had done to them poor innocent girls. My heart goes out to those innocent young girls and their families. Thank you again.
Watching from New Zealand it doesn’t surprise me David was such a great detective. His memory of dates and names and instances is razor sharp and his compassion and determination for the family shines out of him. What a brilliant career.
This man is a credit to the human race. An absolute stalwart of society. Good luck in whatever else you choose to do. 😊
did you just want to say stalwart?
@@anonymous6694 you seem like you have a problem with that.
Minutes With is always interesting . keep it up guys
I've watched his show at the theatre. Really informative and fascinating insight into his career catching serial killers. The stuff he told about Peter Tobin made you feel sick!
I watched it in theatre also! Couldn’t agree more…
Thank God there are people born with such passions, to work in those fields, for the benefit of society
*My heroes are not celebrities or sportsmen, but people like this gentleman, dealing with such tough jobs.
Very well said.
Lets thank god for putting these murderers out there too or else those people wouldn't be able to benefit from them right? thank god for that
@@puremojito Jesus man, it was a figure of speech, I'm not fundamentally religious even, cool your jets will ya
Oh Jesus... how people can do this job and retain any semblance of normality is beyond me.
An amazing interview with a truly amazing, caring and dedicated person.
What a lovely man… he should be so proud of his life ❤
Absolutely riveting interview. What a terrific man David Swindle is
And we’re proud of you, top man, top officer. Fabulous example of incredible investigation conducted by a compassionate individual. Bless you Sir 👏👏
Need a whole episode
Wow, what amazing guy and detective! My uncle was a detective and it does take its toll on a person.
You should do a podcast, I think it would be extremely interesting.
Swindles search for the truth is a voice for victims, you can hear it wherever you get your podcasts 😊
@@TheDavidSwindle Awesome! I’ll have a look in a mo. Thanks
@@TheDavidSwindle I found the podcast on Spotify, I’ll be listening a lot. So glad I randomly saw this video. Best wishes
Thank you David for your hard work and dedication for getting justice for the victims and their families xx
Wishing you all the best x
This was a fantastic interview. I especially appreciated his opinion/thoughts at the end on the nature of psychopathic individuals. Would love to hear more from him. Thank you!
Come and see us on tour! 😊
Now that is what you call a good man. A good copper. Bless him.
I think we need another interview with this wonderful man
The manner in which and tone of voice he’s speaking in immediately made me feel like I got a hug from a warm blanket lol. People raising their voices still terrifies me but I’ve also found voices like this are cure for the scared little girl in me. ❤❤❤ love the channel!
Thank you for the care, respect, and memory you give each person and family you served! ❤️🙏💞
My god, could listen to this for hours…thank you Sir!
What a communicator. Incredible insight
We need more people like this
Absolute legend. Thank You tor your dedication, bravery and tenacity. 🙏👊
Went to one of Davids talks in local theatre.
Facinating insight into police detective work. Thank you for service David.
Great interview. Thank you for everything you have done to help people.
This man has the most soothing voice - although he's talking about awful crimes he is talking with compassion for the victims & giving those people a voice, making sure we, the listeners remember the victim's names & not the murderer's names. Thank you David for your care & dedication to catching these hideous people.
So you should be proud …. You helped bring some type of closure and justice for many victims & their family & friends.
Legend! Well done that man and his team!
Thank you sir
what a lovely man and a really interesting interview…..thanks for being one of the good guys…🙂
What a lovely, dedicated, fascinating man. Great interview (far too short!) 👏💐
This Detective is to be respected for sure. I knew Tobin before he committed his final crime, he was scary.
I just love this gentleman's Scottish accent! Scots whae hae❤
Fantastic thanks David
What a brilliant storyteller
Thank you 🌟🙏🏻
Fascinating. Would love an extended interview!
Come and see us on tour 😊
Amazing. What a strong, kind man.
I saw David's live show recently, it's worth seeing if you're interested in true crime investigations. He's obviously very passionate about bringing murderers to justice and has dealt with everything in the process from unpleasant crime scenes to incompetent superiors. He's entertaining and makes the subject engaging whilst keeping it grounded.
This deserves a full-length interview
This guy is awesome
God bless this man for the work he has done.
Thanks to all the hard working men and women who make the world a safer place. THANK YOU.
Absolutely essential interview! I'm familiar with the case and it's interesting to hear from Swindle's viewpoint.
What an amazing person you are.
Thank you ❤ 🇩🇰
Great interview
The ending words. I have utmost respect for this man. What made me shiver though was when he described a serial killer and said: "Controlling, cunning individual whos a narcissist and enjoys talking about his favourite subject: himself" it hit me because it was like he just described my dad.
I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Swindle speaking live earlier this year. A most engaging presenter with some fascinating stories to tell from his own career.
He also laid out the realities of a complex criminal investigation and debunked certain aspects of the job that true crime buffs and armchair detectives might not have considered. For example, it's not practical or feasible to search all 40 homes that Arthur Scumbag lived in during his murder spree and dig up every garden - you need intelligence to narrow it down and hone in on key locations.
@02:56 It’s good to notice when someone answers a feelings based question, with a cognitive based answer. As in ‘how does that make you feel’ and the person gives answers that are rational, what they’re thinking, and with no mention of their feelings or describing their feelings.
What an interesting character, and an excellent story teller.
Thank you!
We need police to do more for the safety of law-abiding people without hesitation, despite the screeching they have to hear all the time.
What an absolute stand up guy, I only wish more were like him.
Just want this chap to know I hope that these evil people have a change of heart that reflects how good a person this man is . And thank you for your care
What a legend
A tough subject matter… but what a listen by an incredible person.
There were no tears shed, for Peter Tobin.
A really interesting guy,had me totally engrossed.....😊
What a elegant man & true law
Tobin must of done more than what he got caught for. Vile little evil oddball. Evil men are pathetic. Thank God for the dedication from people like this man to get thing's like that off the streets. RIP Peace to the victim's. Bless
just to say - we are proud of YOU
What a legend David is!
A good man.
I'm off to search for some classic Crimewatch eps now...

This guy is a straight up G!!
What a Marvellous Man!! Good luck In all that you do moving On Sir.
What a man 👏
What a lovely interesting bloke.
Very interesting guy 👌
The police have received much justified criticism in recent years. This chap represents the other, honourable and decent, side of the institution.
His work in the Peter Tobin case was amazing Police work. Not just all eight Scottish Police Forces working on that, but every force in the UK as a whole.
Forgot about that case. Im from ayrshire originally and it was insane to us that it was only a local story
Yeah happened about half a mile away from us at the time. If it happened in one of the big cities it would have been all over the news
I watched this awesome guy as he appeared in stevenage gordon craig theatre tonight! His story and knowledge is amazing! Money well spent. Thoroughly enjoyed his show #makingsofamurderer
!!
Thank you for coming to the show 😊
God might help this guys. There are mad people, and this guys is saving us 🙏🙏👑
My son was killed in Mexico December 2019, as a family we turned to David as part of @justiceabroad however we didn’t realise he had a bigger agenda and suddenly ditched us
Agenda?
It's mad that as soon as he said Angelica i knew what he was on about
Well done…
I wish you would put these on a podcast
