Which Lego Hogwarts Express is BETTER?

I personally prefer 4708 myself. It just feels like a more “Lego” train to me. Not to mention she was, by design, 9V compatible.
Plus, 4708 is pretty easy to build extra cars for, and she doesn’t look to bad with her younger motorized sister’s tender either. Just be warned the original Olton Hall tender is a consistent derailer, and will not hesitate to come off the track when passing over switches.

You are the third person I’ve heard that mentioned the conductor problem don’t you understand conductors do not drive the train that is for the engineer in the fireman. The conductor almost never is in the engine
You’re right! It is the engineer. I should have been better with my words. Point is, there should be space for a minifigure lol. Hope you enjoyed the video:)
I rather like the proportions of the newer one. I have both, but since I got the newer set, I plan to use the older one for parts... I did have to modify them to allow them to couple other cars.
Modifying them is always needed. I think that is a good plan! I still need to add better couplers
The new one wins by default for simply having 2 carts instead of one. IMO a train only including 1 cart is unacceptable
i dis agree the 2018 hogwarts express is easier to modify
I personally prefer the 2023 version, but I don’t have the 2018 one, but I do have the 2010 one. But my personal favorite LEGO train in my collection is the Emerald Night, and it’s not a set I’d want to motorize, because I like the cab detail.
I’ll be building the Emerald Night soon and I’m really excited for it. Yeah motorizing takes up space :(
