    I break so many of these rules:
    1. I use some sort of bleach spray with water to clean them (which thinking about it, probably not a good idea)
    2. I wash the sticker pieces with all the other pieces
    3. I use a hair dryer (on cool/medium warm, so not just full blast hot)
    Also, nice video, had some pretty neat editing techniques in there :)

    • @PetersPieces
      @PetersPieces  Před rokem +1

      😳 I don’t know what the effects of bleach are, but I think even if it doesn’t damage them it’s unnecessary. A weaker cleaning agent like dish soap has always been enough for me, and as for the stickered parts, sometimes they will survive. I just keep them aside because I’ve seen stickers get ruined in the wash too many times and I don’t want to risk it anymore. And for the hair dryer, definitely not recommended but I guess if you keep it on cool maybe it’s not bad? I’ll still be sticking with my method, but grateful to hear your thoughts. And glad you enjoyed the video 😄

    yo pro tip / warning for anyone:
    make sure to dry out the pieces bcuz if you display them they could mold (i learnt that after wasting 2 weeks trying to clean a lego death star)
    if ur trying to remove finger prints off, use tissue of cotton balls.
    If u got moldy pieces, alchohol and paper napkins should work, just scrub them throughly to scratch away the mold and leave the lego piece shiney
    I noticed light bluish grey pieces mold the most.
    Use cotton buds to dry out the inside of some pieces like a 1 x 2 x 5 brick
    When youre drying off your pieces, make sure to put the anti studs facing up
    also separate plates and bricks and smaller pieces, i clean them in batches but the process goes faster.

      @PetersPieces  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Good tips! I haven’t had any experience with mold so thanks for leaving the advice. And I should make more use of cotton balls lol they would be helpful

      Glad you liked it! That’s kind of the situation my brother was in, my cousins gave us their old sets a while back and there was about half of a Venator-Class republic attack cruiser, so he inventoried everything, found a decent number of the parts in our own collection, and then ordered the rest. It can be done, and if you’re willing to skip some exclusive pieces, you can do it pretty cheap too!

    If you add fabricsoftner it will make it less static. So hair and dust will stick less to the lego.

    You can use a washingmachine no problem , just let it use cold water and it should be perfectly fine.

    Omg i had so many lego sets sitting and collecting dust, I tried hot water and vinegar but what I noticed is after a few days they started to break very easily😬

    • @PetersPieces
      @PetersPieces  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, definitely wouldn’t recommend vinegar! I have no clue if that actually chemically changes the bricks but water and maybe dish soap should be plenty. Happy building!

      @@PetersPieces Food products can prove particularly confusing which it comes to the liquid or solid debate. One much-loved item people might pack in their luggage is popular hazelnut cocoa spread Nutella. However, despite its rich, thick and creamy consistency, Nutella is actually classed as a liquid.
