- Speak No Evil is a Danish horror movie (Shudder) that garnered a lot of buzz at festivals around its time of release. It focuses on a Danish family that gets invited by a Dutch family to their country home for a weekend holiday. Over the weekend, the hosts begin to test the limits of their guests as things get more and more unsettling.

Thanks for reviewing. YES, the original movie is crazy disturbing! The trailer to the American version shows more push-back from the victims. What got me in the original was how submissive the victims were. They basically did what they were told right up till the end. I was screaming at my screen "FIGHT BACK! DO SOMETHING!"
🤣🤣 same, I was getting to be frustrated at how easily they just bend over and take it
I don't have a strong opinion on if they shouldve made a remake or not, but the vast majority of stuff I read online was ppl saying that this movie didnt need a remake, so It's gotta be interesting to see how popular the new version is.
This one is strange because 1. The trailer for the remake looks basically scene for scene 2. Almost all of this version was already in English. So I think the only way they'd do this remake is make severe changes to the latter half of it to appeal to more audiences
I really liked it. Crazy ending for sure. Curious how they will choose to do the English one.
Agreed. If I had a bet I'd say it's a very watered down/changed ending
Yeah the parents made very stupid mistakes. It’s important to remember that its in the Danish culture to be polite and agreeable. Ofcourse not to this degree, but it makes you understand it more.
For sure. I thought it was intentional to sell the premise they're going for that they talk about at the ending
This movie wasn't terribly believable when it involved Dutch and Danes. Where, exactly, in the US will you find people so polite they will meekly be complicit with their own downfall? The US is THICK with Karens who do not hesitate to tell you how they have been offended while calling the police. I predict the US remake will fail miserably because it will be utterly unbelievable.
The trailer looks like it's a bit watered down and that the victims will put up more of a fight. They also reveal a major spoiler in the US versions trailer so we'll see how they adapt off of that. My expectations are pretty low with American remakes so I would not be surprised at all if you're spot on
