KRAK IT!! OG 1/18 American Muscle (ERTL) General Lee From 2000!! How They Changed Over The Years!

So, we have done videos about General Lee cars of all sizes. But I have yet to unbox a brand new one with the more sought after flag box….. this one from 2000 is about to breath the fresh Hammertown air! First, we KRAK IT. I and I give you guys a really good look around of how one looks fresh out of the box. Then i line it up on the Retro Collectibles LookSee Set, to see how these iconic cars have changed over the years both in details and quality. We also take a close look at a 1/18 Chrome General Lee, a chase version of the General Lee. This one is from the mid 2000s!!
To be clear, this video is for fun! All I am literally doing is showing you an older general Lee made by one company and comparing it to a newer one made by a different company just to show you how it’s evolved over the years in general. Very general lol. Not about different variations they made, or anything in depth. But I will include a list for you guys below of the forum blogspot. I have a gentleman that knows these cars inside and out and has a complete list of every release!! no that would probably be the gentleman to debate, because once again, I am just a guy that enjoys diecast cars nowhere do I claim to be an expert….. so please don’t hang on every word and don’t get triggered. The video is just for fun to check out diecast cars.

I’ve the ertl general lee from about 20 years ago. I’ve also the ertl dirty version which I think may be rare. I will search for the auto world one though as I like the best 👍🏻👍🏻
Dirty is rare!!!! That’s awesome you have that. I received an auto world general lee 1/18 today. Wasn’t cheap but mint in box - really pleased with it. Fantastic paintwork and heavy. Love it. So pleased I saw your video

I couldn't buy the old General Lee. The wheels are not detailed like the charger.
Finally years after they corrected the rims. But I still haven't gotten one. Well for one thing the price is in the stratosphere.. 300 and up I will never pay
Yeah, I agree buddy I only have the Silver scream machines general for myself. I am of the opinion that it’s quality over quantity meeting. I try to get the best version I can afford that way. I don’t regret it later on. But Glen, who is more of a completionist needs every version lol. I’m OK with just having the one version which is the best.

Ah yeeeah ! Nah ! see man the box change wasn't coz of the Rebel flag [X] it was coz it was made by another company ! Frist ones were done by ERTL 's American Muscle - then to ERTL 's Joy Ride then came RC's ERTL 's Joy Ride the Removal of the flag from the boxes had nothing to do with the controversy - only the Auto Trader / Auto World Screen machines General lee suffered the fait of the flag ban by having it covered up and on the model kits the flag was removed from the images of the General lee . but it had nothin to do with the earlier boxes the main change for those was diff time periods and also to that mainly to do with diff companies selling them while the main time ERTL was doing them there was a change over with American Muscle and then later with Auto Trader . just sayin . the flag ban only came in 2015 not prior to that time .
also the ERTL General Lee decals are accurate to the Dukes of Hazzard the Reunion ! movie see what happened was that WB looked at one car 1:64 or the 1:25 scale and that is how the General looked in the movies Hollywood and Reunion . so they are right in that sense but in the sense for the 2005 movie or the TV show not so much only the Auto Trader / Auto World Screen machines General lee's got it right the first time well after Johnny lighting got it right first then went to the Auto Trader / Auto World Screen machines General lee's there 1:18 is right for the TV shows and later 2005 and 2007 movies . :)
oh and another thing ! that one ya sayin is a BS plate that is a rare edition !! See the one with the wrong plates was a factory error ! see The 2000 release had a couple of issues. It had black interior and featured a Florida license plate. The plate might be random or it might be a reference to the Dodge Charger Daytona, which was first tested on July 20, 1969 on the Michigan Chrysler Proving Grounds. I believe this plate was also used on another Ertl Dodge Charger diecast. It might be an important date in Dodge Charger history, but it just didn't have anything to do with the Dukes. Well other than it mite be also a reference to Stunt cars ! see they went around buying people's Chargers when they ran out !! or even Waylon Jennings General Lee ! but it seems more likely to be a Factory Glitch making it a Rare version of the Famous car . just sayin man .
Yeah I just remember the flag going away hahaha don’t remember the exact heat or story. I personally have a silver screen general, but I still love the og ERTL stuff. American muscle and joyride I consider em ERTL that’s what I meant hahaha. Thanks for watching

I used to put a disclaimer on every one of my videos, but I’ve gotten out of that in the last month or so but I may have to start doing it again. No where do I claim to be an expert or that I know every fact on every car in fact, if you watch my videos I am very clear and saying that I am not an expert. I am just a guy that has a lot of experience in having unboxed probably a couple hundred diecast cars, but I am the first guy to say that I’m not an expert and these videos are for fun. I do these videos that we people that don’t know the quality of a certain car can watch me open it before they pull the trigger and go buy one. So I just wanted to be clear these videos aren’t about who is right and wrong and normally I don’t even respond to negative comments I’m not saying that your comment is negative. I’m just saying I didn’t claim to know anything about that license plate. All I said is that it was not the screen accurate plate, and it’s not. And if I didn’t word it like that that’s what I meant. Lol. Once you get to know me, you’ll know that I work a lot of hours and a lot of times when I do these videos. I am very tired. Please do not hang on every word lol this is strictly for fun I do this for enjoyment. There have been people on past videos that have went way overboard off the deep end. Lol so I just wanna be clear that these are videos meant for entertainment they aren’t life or death.
