Kairosoft started as a Small Doujin group to now having their games on most major game platforms. But, even with all this, are they still criminally underrated?

Good!!
Wow thanks so much for checking out the video! Your games are amazing, every Kairosoft game is filled with so much charm and care, they are the best!!
Oh wow kairosoft commented on this video!?

I LOVE YOUR GAMES ❤❤❤❤
thank you for making all the nice games!!
I cant believe game dev story was made in 1997, i couldve sworn it first came out in like 2013 on mobile damn
It was only on PC in Japan initially in the 90's. Then became more known worldwide in 2010 with the mobile ports, that's how I first played it!
Ihaven't played each of their games, but Kairosoft happens to be pretty much my go to when I'm on my phone. Ever since I'd started Dream House days like 6yrs ago at like 12 , The group is pretty much always on my radar. They really are in a league of their own,as I've found no alternatives that could even contest.
Also the vid......magnificent. I could definitely see the channel growing.
Thanks for checking it out! Dream House days is a great one. That means a lot! Stay tuned for more Kairosoft content
They are truly one of the best game designers in the entirety of the industry.
Agreed! I look forward to all their new games
I never knew that Kairosoft has existed for that long. I have always been a fan of their games since 2015, I believe.
I was shocked at their history when researching for this video, I didn't know they had been around for as long either! Goes to show how amazing Game Dev Story and their games are for being made in the late 90s and still holding up today
Omg even Kairosoft itself has commented. This just proves how rare (and much needed) these videos are. You know what? Because I love Kairosoft, and because I love how you do your videos about them, I'm subscribing! I'm ready for more kairosoft content! ❤ Now, am gonna finish the rest of your Kairosoft videos 😊
Thanks heaps for the support! They deserve so much more praise, plenty more kairosoft reviews coming as I replay them all 🎉
Whenever I take a long-distance train heading home, Kairosoft games are always my best choice to kill time. Their games are lightweight but full of fun. Actually I will spend my whole day into it😂
That's the best and worst things about them, you will end up addicted and playing them for much longer than planned 🤣
This kind of game is such a splendid way to discover the world of game making without puting yourself in danger of not having a decent budget
It sure is! It's super fun to make a game title and see how well it does and sells. Definitely one of the best parts of the game!
When I found out they are around for over 20 years I was confused why there wasn't more content about them on yt. Thankfully that's changing now. ;)
Crazy how old the original games are! Most people think they originated in the early 2010s with their iOS app store releases
@@WowItsBow yea that was the first time I experienced a kairosoft game as well. I think I played game dev for an entire week in winter of 2010 on my trusty iPhone 4. lol.
I think this is part of the reason why I started looking out for games from smaller studios.
The style of this game is so cute! I wonder what a modern game dev story game from the same developer would be like.
I agree! The style and art of the games are super unique. There hasn't been a new Game Dev Story but one of my favorite recent Kairosoft releases is Tropical Resort Story, defintley recommend checking it out!
I cannot emphasize how much I like this video!!!
I've been playing Kairosoft games for a few years now and always have been kinda curious about their story, and now I get to know it!!!
Thank you for making this video (and the future Kairo game reviews)!
Thanks so much for checking it out! I agree, Kairosoft games have always been some of my favorite games and I always find myself coming back to play them again. I'm keen to replay them for the reviews!
I love the isometric pixel art style of their games, great video! I would love to see more game dev story videos.
Thanks heaps for checking it out! Glad to hear you liked it. I'll be doing a review of Game Dev Story as my next Kairosoft video then moving onto all of their other titles.
Their games are a great part of my childhood! Very glad they are going great and still putting out games. Also, Thanks for you making these videos getting people to know them!
Absolutely agree, the mobile releases played a huge part in my childhood too! Anytime I think of mobile games Kairosoft games are some of the top that come to mind
Kairosoft for me is the pro developer when it comes to entertaining pixel games. Bruh, the replay value is even worth it. My faves are Cruise Ship Story and that Train station manager that got me fascinated with trains lol, can’t even find any other games that is close to that game’s format which is super entertaining. Never a dull moment with Kairosoft games. I rarely play mobile games nowadays but I always check them for new releases. I always keep their games on my phone and I have a lot of them lol.
I agree they are one of the only developers I go out of my way to see what their upcoming releases are and get excited for them! The replay value is amazing 👏
Ive been their fan for at least ten years. Found out about Pocket Academy from a Game Informer somewhere between 2010-2011 and never looked back. I love these guys so much!
The early kairosoft 2010 days were unmatched, so many amazing games they initially released on iOS/Android! Pocket Academy is also one of my favorites, did you play the sequel Pocket Academy 3?
@@WowItsBow Not yet! I have a handful of games I need to play still and that’s one of them. I’m looking forward to it though! I was so excited when they announced PA3!
Honestly I also praise Kairosoft for not having microtransactions in a lot of their games except for ones that are absolutely free. Like unlike a lot of mobile game developers they have kept their roots as a indie developer basically and sold their games on the premise that they are enjoyable and their games are very enjoyable.
That's such a good point, the free options are just a great choice for people wanting to try one initially first too. Imo all the games are well worth their low price tag
For me, my favourite game from this company is Quest Town Saga, its a free to play town building/RPG game that is super underrated in my opinion (unfortunately theres some glitches in the game, but this doesnt mean the game is not fun)
Quest Town Saga is great! I agree that the RPG Kairosoft games often get overlooked.
I love Game Dev Story so much, I've bought it on like 4 different phones on this point
Same here i had it on ios/android then steam, It's the game that changed everything for the game sim genre! If you haven't already, try Kairosofts newest game TV Studio Story. It's a great modern version of it
This is so true, Kairosoft are so underrated. I have just discovered the Kairosoft game catalog. Their pixel art is excellent and the simulation games they make are very enjoyable.
Their art style and creative charm makes their games one of a kind! Each of them are a blast to play and offer so much variation
Looking forward to the Kairosoft Review series. I became a fan of their games yesterday, and spent 2 days devouring them on the Switch.
Thanks so much for checking it out! Game Dev Story review is out on my channel and my next upload will be the next game released after game dev 😀
I found this video from the video essay subreddit. I really enjoyed it. Keep it up.
Thanks so much for checking it out! I really appreciate it. Have more Kairosoft and Essay videos on the way!
I love kairosoft! There's nothing quite like their art style and attitude. I must've been playing since about 2016 on my first smartphone. Putting a couple of games up for free meant that I could play as a kid with no hope of buying a console or pc! Thanks for making this video!
I started playing on mobile too, the games caught my attention immediatley so I tried out all the others as I loved their style. Glad you enjoyed! My next kairosoft video is coming soon and is a review of Pocket Academy
This is a underrated youtuber
Thanks for the support! New videos on the way soon
I had Game Dev story many eons ago on an old Android smartphone, and was ecstatic to see it and many other of their games on the Switch when I finally got one this year. It scratches such a delightful, relaxing itch. I love them. Definitely want to watch your reviews on them!
Thanks for the kind words! I started my kairosoft journey on mobile with game dev story too! 100% agree, they have their own unique playstyle which makes them unlike any other games. Pocket Academy will be my next Kairosoft review on the channel :)
@@WowItsBow Looking forward to it! 😄
Dunno why or what, but there's just something special about Kairosoft's games. Just starting to really get into their games. Just got Burger bistro story on my Switch. More will definitely follow! I'm not really a mobile gamer, so I decided I'll play their games on the Switch. That way I can still have the mobile experience.
They are great on switch! It was a great move by Kairosoft to port their game to modern consoles for everyone to enjoy their amazing games
Great video! Looking forward to seeing what other videos you make :)
Thanks heaps for checking it out! Glad you enjoyed it. I have a new video coming out today.
I love their games so much!
Agreed, they are one of a kind
Mate…. 👏
Great video. Been searching for videos on kairosoft for ages, and this is exactly the kinda thing I’ve been hoping to find. Excellent quality too. Keep this up and your channel is sure to grow broski! Now subbing 😃
Thanks for checking it out! Very keen to replay the games and try some new ones that I am yet to play! Stay tuned for more coming soon

@@WowItsBow same! I’m playing ramen sensei at the moment. Certainly not the best KS game, but holds up well for a few hours a day. Not sure which paid one to pick up next, I’m almost done with all the free ones.
Kairosoft Are Thé Saviors Of Thé Mobile App Market. Change My Mind
I think they're awesome! Not only just the mobile app market as the switch/pc/console ports seem to be doing well, but the O.G mobile games will always have a special spot in my heart for me
Any video with Superstar Saga music must be good! 😍
Game Dev Story and Grand Prix Story must be their best games, right?
Thanks for watching! I'll always have a special spot for the superstar saga OST.
I agree 100%, some of my favorites are Game Dev Story, Hot Springs Story, Grand Prix Story, Tropical Resort Story and Pocket Acadmey.
I love Kairosoft games
They are great! One of a kind
Loved the whole vid! There aren’t really any Kairosoft vids around so good to see someone’s giving them the attention they deserve 🤍 love the dev spotlight idea too
Thanks heaps! You're awesome!!!
Speaking of waiting for Translations; I've waited 30 years for Momotaro Densha for super famicom. Still, nothing. Played until the wee hours of the morning with 7 close friends i was tutoring English in college. Kayu, Megu, Mika, Hiroe, Tatchan, Madoka, Chiemi, and sometimes Yoshi. It's like Monopoly but with trains and a peach boy and poop.
I haven't heard of this game, I'll have to check it out! It sounds great
@@WowItsBow It was amazing! czcams.com/video/U0A5TCF32tc/video.html
Kairosoft is my go-to for offline games!
They're great offline titles! Can replay them so many times
I hate how their games need internet connection to play now :(
Oh is this a thing? What platform / kairosofr game did you play that needed to be always online?
top 3 kairosoft games please?
Of course! My personal top three favorites are Hot Spring Story 1 or 2, Pocket Academy 1 or 2 and Tropical Resort Story. I have a top 10 videos of 2023 on my channel!
