Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in! What coaching videos would you like to see next? đ
I suggest re-visiting the Rule of 12 regarding bump and runs. But put the Finch twist on it...just be you man. The Rule of 12 does wonders for one's game.
Great stuff as usual Pete. How about a video on reading greens please. Thanks.
But....with stronger lofted clubs of today, I think it is more like the Rule of 11 or 10. LoL.
Please show us how to be a fine upstanding gentleman like you are.
Stop slicing driver everytime !!
Be right back gonna go thin a 54 degree over the green
Some of my best stingers are from greenside!!!!
Already happened

Such a great video. I've always known high and low launch positioning, but never knew when I can apply these various shots. thanks for helping me understand when to apply such shots.
I'm convinced that by liking the video, I will have a good round this weekend! Don't let me down Pete! ;)
I agree o father lord finch give me a great round this weekend
Howâd it go?
Love your videos Peter! This was such a gem. I am saving it immediately for advanced short game explanations.
Seeing the numbers really helps solidify the concepts. :)
Keep up the great videos!
I absolutely love this, youâre so great at explaining
This has to be the best video around the differences achieved by the adjustments of hand and club positioning. Well done Peter.
Dan Greve: the 3 releases.
Love how you added in ball position. I've played with that myself at the range. Nice to see some numbers showing the differences in flight and decent angle.
Great video Pete, explaining the facts makes it simple to understand. I hope my comp goes just as well this weekend with the shot in mind.
Not only am I loving these recent wedge videos. Itâs great to know the wrist is getting a well deserved break and is on the mend! đđđ»
Absolute Class Act đ Best CZcams Golf Coach / Entertainer đ
Broke 100 for the first time yesterday. Your content has been very helpful thank you.
Great vlog Peter - theres something so nice about well struck pitch especially when it spins back.
Love the look of that JAWS wedge
Cheers
I'll watch any coaching video's you do as they always informative & well explained hope wrist better soon so can get out on course & bring us the great vlogs you do đïžââïžâłđ
Hi Peter. Was there any change to your RPM with the change of ball position, or was it stable around 10000? If we want to hit a lower, one-hop stopper what kind of RPM are we looking for (conditions obviously allowing). Thanks! Appreciate the videos and your approach to coaching!
I always love your vids, but one thing i've noticed about everyone doing these types of "backspin" videos (Dave Pelz included), the demonstrations everyone provides around the green remind me of basic pitch shots that do obviously have spin, but they all roll out a little. I think everyone would like to see some demos that look like Jordan Spieth hitting those really low one-hop-and-stop shots like we all see on TV :)
Chris Dennis does great tips on this, strike is still key
That involves what Pete was talking about early on: you gotta hit it pretty hard, and totally pure, and on the bottom groove or second lowest groove. Those low grooves make it come out low and spinny. Itâs not easy to learn to execute at all.
@@adamseidel9780 Oh, i know how to do it myself. I just find it odd that i see these shots on TV every time i watch a PGA match, but i never see anyone that teaches spin demonstrating the shot.
Honestly one of your most well laid out videos in my opinion. Very good!
Iâve just bought some new vokeys and this is ridiculously interesting to me! Canât wait to experiment, thanks!
Thanks for covering so much and making this easy to understand Pete. Another one of your vids is now in my "liked" folder.
Thanks Peter. Nice and simple. Very good examples.
Smashed the like button even without the holing of a demonstration shot. Hopefully it gives me the luck to put this into action and be more confident with going at the flag đ€Łđ€Ł
Keep up the amazing work!!!
Best golf channel on youtube!
Sorry Rickđ
really like this kind of video alot pete. class video mate
Love that you still use the vice balls! My favorite balls forsure
Love the content Pete đȘ
Great video again Pete!
Well done, Pete. Solid video.
Awesome vid peteđȘ
Thanks for the advice , nicely explained đđ
Loved the detail in this Pete, I just wish I'd seen it before going out this morning đ€Łđ€Łđ„°
đ đ đ
This is the best spin video ive seen thanks
Very well detailed! Thank you
Playing my first 9 holes in over a month this Saturday so naturally I smashed like for good luck!!! Love using my wedges - Great video - you have really helped me improve my game so thanks
Cheers Alex, good luck for Saturday đ
Really enjoyed the refresher on ball position
Thanks Pete some good information
Am I the only one that was like, â Wait whereâs the golf shaft?!?!â at 3:05?
I actually though for that half a second Pete green screened away somehow for some kind of cool effect.
đđđ
I actually was gonna post the same thing but figured I would check the comments because I couldn't be the only one...and I'm not.
If you have an older SW or PW with worn grooves get a groove sharpener. This will greatly help the backspin. Great vlog Pete!
pros go through 6-10 a year
Excellent demonstration.
Great video thank you!!!!
Another extremely helpful video Peter,
when you say at the back or front of your stance with this technique .
How far either way do you mean ? .
For example if it were the front of the stance would you play it as far for as driver or slightly further back .
Keep up the great work mate , awesome stuff !!
Cheers ...
Thank you great video coachingâŠ
So good to know. Thanks Pete. :)
I'm sorry but Pete's swing is just beautiful I've said it so many times I just can't get over it!
Hi Peter, fantastic video lesson matey, I definitely need a lot of work on my short and I am going to put this into practice tonight on the course. I also use vokey sm9's , I have tried multiple others but the vokeys just seem to work for my swing. Keep these videos coming Peter, they not only make a massive positive difference to my day but are always in some way instructional. THANK YOU !!
Great video. Gonna try to apply this in the morning. đđ
Good man đ Let me know how you get on
This is quality content
Best of luck on the 500,000 fella!
Love the video
Superb!!!
Great video!!! U had those full toe Jaws Rippin!!!!
I'm gonna try this out today on my hcp round. =D
like this video very much thanks pete.!! from kuala lumpur.
Nice vid, what were the average spin numbers at the end?
Damn bruh, youâve been pumping those weights havent you? I can only imagine what your clubhead speed is now. Keep it up
Great stuff Peter! Howâs the back? Hope you are mending.
Moving ball position should you adjust weight distribution from front to center?
that was an amazing video
Smashed that like button before the video even started lol
Great video, and the simple explanations of each of the 3 ball positions Peter. Unfortunately piching and chipping are both parts of golf, I'm have trouble with, yet you make it sound so simple. I do have one question that I'd like your input on though. Pitching, as well as chipping should be controlled by only using the arms during the swing and not the body. By using only the arms in the swing, the body will follow, and will in effect, reduce chunking and skulling these shots. True, or ??
I have a quote that has helped me out tremendously "don't be afraid to take a divot from short range" Jordan Spieth
3:05 I was like⊠how the hell is that club head just sitting up right without anyone holding it. I thought Peter was a magician.
Thanks Pete
Great video Pete! :) One small thing: headwind does not affect the spin of the ball, but for the spin it has, the headwind increases both the Magnus Effect (the amount of lift generated through spin) and the drag resulting from spin. Those two thing combined lead to a steeper descending angle at the same spin, making the ball stop quicker overall.
Cheers!
Would I be right in saying a tail wind doesnt push the ball either(unless your playing in a hurricane) it just provides less wind resistance? I'm guessing so but I find it funny when most people explain it, it comes across like the ball is being blown further like a sail boat.
@@boydeeful Haha yeah, that's a good point :) tailwind usually isn't faster than the ball travels, i.e. doesn't actually push the ball. What the tailwind does do however, is to lower the drag and thus the Magnus Effect which provides lift. The spin is the same, but in a strong tailwind it looks like the ball is falling out of the sky, while in a headwind it looks like it is ballooning. Same spin, very different outcomes. :D Cheers
Last few videos youâve used the Srixon divide balls. Any reason other than they look cool? Great video and content as always
Just loving your stuff lately Pete (and team) fist emoji :)
I would love a coaching video in playing out a deep greenside bunker shot .
Perfect time for lunch đ
Hows the back feeling? I know Rick is probably hoping you rest it for the rest of the season, my guy been SWEATIN' ever since you guys talked about a match! Haha!
Thanks
Will we be getting a full video on the divide balls??
Pets, when you changed the launch conditions did it change the spin?
If youâve got wedges that rust, do you clean the rust off with a wire brush, or just give it a basic clean to get any soil or grass off?
How did the ball placement affect spin? If at all
Whereâs the backspin?
In the airâŠ.
Only time Iâve gotten crazy spin I landed the ball 1ft from the pin and then it took off and rolled off the green đ I have a knack for hitting cool shots when I donât need it.
Never clicked on a vid so fast on my life
Two helpful things to understand about spinning a golf ball .. The Gear Effect and The Que Ball (billiards). The best way to get the most spin of a golf ball is to optimize the power and acceleration of the clubhead impacting the prefect location of the ball relative to the equator .. and, the angle of that impact in relation to the parallel of the ground. Just like getting optimum spin on a que ball in billiards, it's actually THAT simple and EXACTLY the same thing. It is very simple physics and it is done all the time in the game of billiards (or pool). Once you understand this and given a little bit of practice with it, it becomes very easy to control how much spin you place on your ball. This is true for approach shots just as much as chip shots. BOOM Peter!!! .. that's all that is to it !! ... think of the Que Ball !!!
Everything was great in the video. What backspin did each of the 3 shots achieve. You only mentioned 1
"I might know what I'm talking about now and again..."
Just a bit methinks... Rabbi Finch đ
I understand the occasional need for high spinning short shots, but for 80% of chipping and pitching, spin is your enemy it adds a variable(s) to the shot that you don't need ie how much spin do you create on the shot and also how the ball reacts when it lands on the green. Discuss :-)
What was the spin on the front center and back shots?
Did spin change depending on ball position?
So it's not considered backspin when I hit the home next to the fairway and it comes back to me?
Get that 500K!
This was a like a lesson wedge mathematics in motion. Great stuff Pete!
Iâd like to see you with an amateur and help them with decision making. I see lots of swing video but not an explanation of always why the decisions we make on club choice or where we target can impact the hole. Iâd volunteer myself but being in the States it not possible. I wish at times a pro could play a round with me and help with club choice off the tee a lot and how to play chip shots especially.
3:05 Best optical illusion ever!
Are we allowed to take a notebook full of tips with us onto the course when in a competition?
What was the spin on the three different ball positions in the end of the video?
On the last three where you changed the ball position... did it change the spin rates of those shots much?
yah i thought it was weird he didnt mention that lol seemed like part of his whole point!
I'd love to see how the heck to hit a full-swing wedge shot without the ball going a mile in the air. It doesn't matter what degree wedge I hit (aside from my pitching wedge), the ball only seems to go a maximum of about 70 yards, whether it's a 52, 56, or 60 (even less with my 60). On a short, 100 yard par 3 I feel like I should be able to hit my 56 degree without issue, however, for some reason the ball seems to just rocket almost straight into the air off the face and ends up about 20 yards short of the green.
What's the spin numbers for the change in ball positions? đ”
Top 3 clubs you could recommend to certain golfer.
New golfer -
Higher handicap (ish)
Lower handicap (3-8)
Scratch golfer???
What was spin difference between the shots?
What happened with rpm per ball position?
Cool optical illusion at 3:06
What about change of rpm?
Who would dislike this kind of video? Whatâs the deal like âNo this certainly wonât do. spin is bad, chip and run is better.â đđ
Back on the tp5âs Pete?
At the end where you put up the results of the three balls positions you included every piece of data EXCEPT what the difference in spin were for each position......I was most interested in those numbers for this test.
