Debussy is the most deeply impressive piano composer I've ever listened to! I'm glad you're learning us to play these amazing pieces, Paul. Happy winter. From Kyrgyzstan.
Dear Paul Barton Have you or would you ever consider trying to get some of the music you play onto Spotify your such an excellent pianist and I would love to be able to hear your music on the go.
+Paul Barton Spotify is a music listening app that is used by houndreds of millions of people. I would absolutely listen to your music trough spotify too because its much easier than youtube. Sorry for my bad english Im from Finland
Hmm, Debussy comes closer and closer in my admiration to maestro Bach. Both composed very different music, but yet so touching me... Paul, may I ask you: was your Feurich grand piano built in China or in Austria or Germany?
Debussy was actually a great admirer of Bachs work! Here are two famous quote by him: “… Also I am more and more convinced, that music in its essence is not something that can be poured into a strict and traditional mould. It consists of colours and rhythmic time … Everything else is trickery, invented by cold fools on the backs of the masters, who mostly only made music of their own time! Only Bach divined the truth.” 1907 in a letter to Jacques Durand "And if we look at the works of JS Bach--a benevolant god to which all musicians should offer a prayer to defend themselves against mediocrity--on each page we discover things which we thought were born only yesterday, from delightful arabesques to an overflowing of religious feeling greater than anything we have since discovered. And in his works we will search in vain for anything the least lacking in good taste." 1913 in an article on "taste" in music
Can I use this piece on a short film and submit it to festivals? I understand it says it's still licenced by a music company in the description. But I've always been told that classical pieces older than 100 years can be used on projects for free, since the copyright has expired. Which one is true?
The piece may be hundreds of years old, but the recording is new. If you want to play the piece yourself go for it. If you want to use this recording, you need to contact the person/people who recorded this.
Working on a minor work assignment for a class where I am assigned to arrange this piece. Is there anyone that is able to explain why on bar 1,2 and 3 there is two minims with a quaver and semiquaver triplet included-Doesn't that overlap the rule of the time signature. Any advice would be really appreciated :)

Paul, it's always helpful if you can provide an English translation in the title. :-) The playing is wonderful.
Geoff Dunstan "Footprints in the Snow"
Also, at the start of the piece it says "this rhythm should have the sonorous value of a frozen and sorrowful countryside background"
this makes me want to play piano again. it doesnt seem hard but it probably actually is though :(

it indicates that the note should be held for half of the bar - it isnt a tie, if thats what you were thinking.
