    Bolt action all the way.
    Since this is now a semi-permanent thing, can we start sending in community pics of our bolt action armies?
    Also just a quick note Mordian. I always seem to pickup your mouse clicks when you record. Perhaps try to cut them off when you record?
    Other than that, always keen to see more bolt action content!

    honestly, my friends and i havent been following the unit limit rules, instead we play according to what the scenario/story we are making goes.
    we have been using Bolt action for our RPG Table top game.

    'How do I deal with the Sniper?' Of course the only true answer is to play the 'Gentleman's Game' of the counter sniper.

      Or just bring the whole building down around his head done that twice once with my Brummbar the other with my JSU-152. One hit and 12 points of damage and it goes bye bye along with the camping sniper.

    • @crusader2410
      @crusader2410 Před 2 lety +4

      Ah, of course. Wouldn't expect a Soviet player to be able to comprehend the glory of the 'Gentleman's Game'.*
      *100% legit- have done this with my Tiger I/Panther numerous times, and is pretty satisfying.

    I’ve been playing a mechanized infantry list (using the US armored infantry selector) in friendly games with my own play group. It does surprisingly well despite being very vulnerable to pins.
    I’ve looked online and not many people talk about fully mechanized lists, I’d be curious to hear about other people’s experience in a more competitive environment. I know selectors often aren’t allowed in tournaments so that probably explains a lot.

    I’m an early war French player and I routinely play against late war armies. I can hold my own and win as often as I lose. The points system creates the balance between the different eras in my opinion. Yes your French armour is not going to kill enemy late war tanks but they’re great at bullying infantry because they’re cheap.

    I sort of made a Panzer Grenadier platoon with a Reg 1st Lt and assistant, 2- 10 man squads Vet with 4 Stg-44, 1 MG-42, 4 rifles and 2 Panzerfaust, then a Volksgrenadier squad of 8 with 3 Stg-44, 1 MG-42, and 3 MP-40, then a Panzerschrek team Regular, a Regular Medium mortar, a SD Kfz 251/9 Stummel, and a SD Kfz 251/16. It works but unlike the Platoon structure I use it in pure friendly games and sometimes it does alright other times it gets swept up and put in the trash by turn 4. Since I got a Flamethrower and a Sniper with my Panzerschrek I should go and add them to a few of my German builds.

    Goes without saying I fucking love these. I can just feel the passion. And yeah bolt action isn't a perfectly balanced utopia, high explosives, flamethrowers mixed into units, medium machine gun teams being weak, it's got a few issues, but nobody really takes all the broken stuff by gentlemen's agreement. I think the culture of the game is just different. Also I get the sense that the guys at Warlord games Don't make broken rules to sell miniatures, pretty low bar but it's nice.

    Okay, first of my 20 comments. Early war France has some competitive play and can definitely go toe to toe with late war Germany, a few players in the Bolt action Reddit are competitive early war French players, gave me loads of fantastic advice. You obviously get that free artillery piece, I know some people like to spam inexperienced minimum squads with VB launchers, and the French cavalry always seem to get taken. The armours really good in the worst way possible, it's cheap, decked out with machine guns, and has negative rules "like one-man turret" you can play around and just get a nice discount on your tanks.
    Granted if your opponent brings a really big tank you'll struggle to knock it out, but that's not really the meta and you can hopefully pin the thing out with artillery if luck goes your way, or just ignore it.

    • @blecao
      @blecao Před 2 lety +1

      Im starting to play early war france and about the tank thing i must say that if you really hate that one man turret rule you still have an option the amc-35 wich is a ligth tank with a normal ligth antitank but as it has a 2 man turret is quite expensive in comparison
