  • There is something special deep down inside every Partick Thistle person; something that sets them apart from the herd. For the last 77 years there has been a visible, tangible, sign of that difference.
    On Saturday January 19th 1935 at Tynecastle Park Edinburgh, a Partick Thistle side wore the colours of red and yellow, the colours that have helped distinguish us from the rest of Scottish Football, for the very first time.
    Thistle won 2-1 that afternoon and since then the colours of red and yellow have become synonymous with Partick Thistle Football Club. Our Club colours are as much part of our history as the players that have worn them.
    Our Club colours are very important to us; the soul of our Club is red and yellow.
    As the words of a well- known Thistle song go;
    "Red and yellow are the colours we love. The colours of Partick Thistle Football Club."
    This Saturday, when the First Division's top two clash, Firhill will host one of the most important games in the recent history of Partick Thistle.
    The stage is set, therefore, for a special afternoon. A large crowd is expected. A crowd that we are sure will try and take the roof off Firhill by belting out Thistle songs.
    It's entirely appropriate then that, after too long a wait, the players will run out in the famous red and yellow for the first time this season.
    To celebrate the return of our famous Club colours we are asking all Thistle fans attending the game to wear something, anything, red and yellow. By anything, we mean anything. Including face paints, banners, scarves, flags and, of course, Thistle tops.
    So get up the attic and dig out your old Thistle scarf or Texstyle World top. Just make sure you turn up for

    You really ought to call this something a bit more meaningful than just 'return' and give it an image for FB etc
