- PRX time, today we are looking at the most appealing (in my opinion)
Tissot PRX lineup, The new Mint T137.410.11.091.01 , the Chronograph T137.427.11.041.00 and the automatic Powermatic 80 T137.407.11.041.00
Hope this video will offer you the clarity you need if you consider to grab one for the colleciton :) N-JOY!
I was gifted the mint PRX as a Christmas present. I absolutely love it. I have stopped wearing it to work because I find myself just looking at it most of the day and get no work done as a result. Fabulous 👌
Don't get why the Mint PRX doesn't exist in an automatic version. They need that an a mango/saffron version.
@@valkyrst620 there's a rumor that the automatic version will get some summer color as well in this year. Unfortunately i forgot on which web i read about this
Got PRX blue dial automatic for over a year now. The first day it came out I was sold. Being the grandson of a watchmaker I had to pick the automatic, quartz made my grand dad almost go out of business. Strange thing is in the 70’s it was super modern to come out with a quartz. Reintroducing the prx 45 years later in automatic is kind of strange, but I love it.
I'd definitely argue that the 35mm is more an accurate representation of what it would be in the 1970s Seastar, rather than just being considered 'the ladies version'. The 40mm is a joke with its 47 lug to lug. 35mm is more era appropriate so I hope people start gravitating towards the current vintage trend and we see more men embracing smaller watches! Great video as always!
Hi Matthew, I fully agree, I was thinking specifically that I should had call it the 35 mm not the ladies version, as this indeed, was an accurate size of the original version, my bad :/
Got 35mm in gold. I am tired of oversized watches for my 16,5cm wrist. Considering 1926 36mm white next.
Not every people have the same opinion.. Many people likes big bulky watch... I have medium to small wrist but I like to wear dive watches & I also like slim 35mm watches.. I also like quartz & mechanical.. I also have prx automatic & I don't care what other people say as long as I am happy & I love all my watches... wear what you love & do not listen to other people say
@@ChefTom777 well said. its not always about 'embracing'. Some people with bigger wrist just feel having a bigger watch is proportionately 'correct'.
@@justinseah4011 yeah..those other comments definitely come from dainty handed men
Heritage 1973, reverse panda is the ultimate vintage 70s watch that's modern too.
I have the green dial powermatic and I really love the subdued tone. Sometimes it looks black and sometimes a deep emerald green that even shimmers a bit like a gem in ideal light. The angles and lighting that catch the facets are different from those that make the dial stand out so it’s always interesting to look at
Just bought the 40mm automatic Ice Blue just out and absolutely love it. My first Tissot.
The PRX is a solid choice and I also see the natural progression to a diver model! As a collector I see myself having all of the different variations of them in my collection!
Yesyesyes! Super excited for a diver well positioned from the price perspective. :)
As a PRX fanboy, I’m a proud owner of the blue auto, and it’s difficult to take it off the wrist at the end of the day. It’s right in the limit of what would be considered big for my wrist. So there was my disappointment when I tried the PRX chrono at a store and found it ridiculously large and chunky on my wrist, clearly in no-go territory. It would not be an aesthetic improvement over my current PRX.
Very cool piece Daniel! Indeed if you are used to the auto which has 11 mm in height, the chrono will be big. I personally had exactly the same feeling when I tried it on. But if you see it as an integrated bracelet chronograph as an extension of a GP laureato, that has nothing to do with the slimness and the elegance of the prx q or auto, you might see it differently :)
it's only 42mm
Should have just bought it rather than buying in to the fake wrist size mafias decrees.
All the prx line has its own beauty.. For me I love all the variants, colors & sizes... Prx is amazing watch..
Omega had a time only watch in the 70s which also came with an integrated bracelet. There was one version where the dial surface was brushed the same way as the case, which made it look like one piece (the dial was silver). Quite nice
I honestly think the 40mm Quartz variant (any colour for that matter) is the best pick of the bunch, and also the most accurate representation of the original Seastar it's paying homage to. My wrist is almost 8 inch, so the 35mm would look like a children's toy. The Chrono, cool as it might be, is far too expensive for me to afford anytime soon. The Powermatic 80 is nice, but I dislike the waffle dial and think that it takes away from the overall aesthetic. When I visited my local Tissot AD, I put all 3 on my wrist and it was immediately clear that I had to have the dark blue quartz variant. It's still my favorite watch in my entire collection, and gets by far the most wrist time!
I’m watching this looking at my steel framed Bianchi bicycle. I’d say the colour of both the watch and the bike is “celeste”. Thanks for the video.
Very close yes, the prx has a bit more yellow or geen added to the celeste tone, but nice finding! Cheers! :)
I got my mint PRX last week - I love it :D
The color really depends on the lighting, but its always beautiful
True :) congrats!
debating if i should get mint one or get like the rosegold 35mm, i have 6.5-7 inch wrists, and feel mint might not go well with every outfit if i wore it everyday
@@hudsonmock56435mm for you.
i have the mint. to be honest i got it last minute after planning on sunburst blue for months. the mint is STUNNING. buuuut you’re also kind of correct about pairing. i plan on getting both now lol.
I’ll get my ICE blue PRX today, so exited! It’s my first ever “real” watch
haha, congrats!
Would normally go for automatic movement when given the option but this one is an exection since the referece was a quartz model as well!
Because of you, I bought Santos de Cartier and the Seiko King Turtle Save The Ocean. Now I may have to buy PRX Chrono too. But that mint sure is pretty.
hahah! all solid watches! Congrats! the chrono is as well very cool, I am considering one!
I’ve had the quartz black dial since launch day in the USA and it’s still my daily. I love it more everyday! This is a true 40 mm piece, it wears like a dream.
And btw. The original quartz dials have the same vertical brushing it’s all dependent on light
Very nice! I guess once you get used to ut, it's super nice and comfy. (I am speaking wearinf currently on the wrist a citizen ecozilla) :)))
I looked at the black dialed quartz before I got my blue auto. It looked really nice and classy and I would have bought it that day if I wasn't waiting on the auto which had been announced. The blue dial quartz is ok but the vertical brushing on the black is much nicer.
Those close up shots look... FABULOUS !
The color is soo trippy, in the video it’s very blue, in real life it’s very green.
I recently picked up the PRX 42mm chrono automatic.
I'm very happy with the fit so far
I bought the powermatic 80 for my son’s 20th. I then bought the blue dialed prx chronograph for my older son’s 22nd. Both are striking. The prx chronograph is more visually stunning than my steel Omega and Rolex chronographs.
😂😂😂
Think of that in centro America a Tissot about $500 it’s a month salary if you got really good income, that’s why I love my winger Attitude I’m looking forward to purchasing that beautiful Tissot prx powermatic 80 in the next 4 years
I was not too hyped by the PRX, neither the waffle dial not the plain quartz dial did it for me, but when I first saw the mint one some weeks ago, I had to get it. It is one of the watches in my collection I just cannot get enough of and most consciously look at during the day. I only have a 6.5 in wrist, so I don't think the chronograph would fit me, especially regarding its height, which is a bit sad since I like the blue one a lot. Thanks for your "love letter" to the PRX.
The height is average for a chronograph bellow 7k.
Don’t get it.
I also have 6,5 and had the Chrono.
That thing is wearable (if you like hefty things on the wrist) but it gets uncomfortable over long sessions…
If Tissot made a 35mm automatic PRX I’d buy that in a heartbeat. As a man who has 17cm wrist I wear 34-38mm watches and appreciate companies who still make them.
I'd prefer the PRX Powematic 80 in Ice Blue to the Quartz PRX in Mint! 😍
I bought the automatic with the blue dial. As soon as I put it on my wrist it fitted perfectly. It definitely wears like a true 40mm. The dial pattern is wonderful to look at with a mesmerising wrist roll with mine gaining about 5 seconds a day. If I went for the quartz, I would go for the 35mm. Nothing like having a watch in its original proportions.
😂
plus your wife/gf can wear it
I have a mint prx and am happy with it so far
The mint one will always have the advantage that no matter its used condition, it will always be mint 😆
Bravo! Well done, sir. 🤙 I'm leaning towards the mint colored quartz version.
Own the PRX mint and will buy the Citizen Tsuyosa with the yellow day soon and need another fun color which is going to be my in my watch rotation for the summer days.
Great review. That mint is a must have. But that Chrono is punching well above its weight. I do find myself thinking the Powermatic is the least desirable out of the 3. But only because the other two are so great in their niches.
Great video and perfect timing for me as i've been thinking about getting a PRX for a while now. For me you have now sealed the deal and i'm going with the chrono, however I am going with the white dialed "Panda" version, love the gold accents.
Did you buy one ? Would you say something like a tag heuer f1 is a better watch for the money when compared to the cheep feel of the chronograph prx
I bought a second hand all gold (plated) quartz PRX 35mm. For the price I paid it's an incredible value for money and I love how quirky it is. That being said, I tried the 40mm versions few months back and initially was underwhelmed. I wouldn't pay the full retail price for them, especially now.
How's the gold plating holding up? I was cross-shopping the gold plated and the green dial 35mm and went for the green dial as I was worried about the gold plating.
@@6kevsd9 The watch is 8 months old, so nothing to report as of now. It's not my daily, so I wasn't really worried about the coating rubbing off. It looks very solid though!
@Sebastian Nowak Thanks bud, now I'm thinking if I made the wrong call getting the green lol
hands down my favourite watch channel
The PRX uartz white has the same vertical brushing on the dial. Looks quite wonderful on that as well!
A PRX diver is a good idea. Reminds me a lot of my Omega Cosmic 2000 from the seventies...
The chronograph is very good looking. The rectangular pushers are very cool. I would like to get one on the wrist to see how the thickness of the watch feels.
It's very nice, it is a bit chunky and heavy, but if you adjust it perfectly for the wrist and wear it for a few hours, you won't feel it. it's very well balanced, the thicker bracelet helps.
On the back of only just watching your video I've literally just ordered the Tissot PRX in mint green (Tiffany blue) and got 15% discount off too! It's coming tomorrow. What's the legibility like please do the hands pop? (I just hope and pray it fits my 6.5 inch wrists though pal?? 🤔) Keep up the great work as always!👏👏
I have the Powermatic 80 in blue and also the Chrono in blue and agree 100%, those PRX watches are amazing timepieces. The vertical Pattern does also look very appealing I enjoy it very much on my chrono.
But I am planning to buy the quartz Version in turquoise for my Wife as a Gift for perfect Partnerlook.
The 35mm PRX needs more love. It's a great size and that makes the watch more versatile. The regular PRX is big. Wears like a slim G-Shock in my opinion.
Can't wait to see an automatic 35mm PRX. These wear bigger than the size suggests.
Overall, beautiful watches!
true words, I also feel the need for a smaller version. the tonneau with pronounced corners sometimes feels too big on the wrist.
Didn't realize the 35mm was quartz only 🙏
@@juniorjohnson5961 yes, but they already announced that an automatic version is coming this year. 👍
There’s a 35mm auto already but it’s rose gold bezel and diamond indeces so a bit too feminine imo. And much more expensive
@@arielargo 🙏
I just discovered your channel the other day and ive been bingeing on them. Absolutely love your videos. Keep up the good work 🙏🙏
I appreciate your words, thank you & Welcome aboard! :)
Not sure on the light tiffany blue
you got the one with perfect second hand alignment ! ❤
My fav watch is the Casio CA-53w ⌚️🙂
I have a 20 cm wrist and I couldn’t pull the PRX off - I believe a 37.5 version would broaden PRX’s scope.
6.7 inch wrist what would you recommend, leaning towards 40mm because 35 looks too small.
The white quarts PRX also comes with grainy finish which is not sunburst.
Yes. you are right
I had the 40mm blue p80 model and it was great but I sold that and my Hamilton intramatic chrono for the prx chrono in blue reverse panda like you have here.
Delugs is working on a rubber strap for the chrono and I can’t wait!
Another great comparison review. BB. I'm quite a fan of Tissot watches having owned a few over the years and I still have them. I love the PRX versions. I have the PM80 blue dial and the chronograph panda and both have incredible finishing considering the price. I have to agree with your view though for an entry into the PRX range the quartz is a no brainer, a great price and super finish and I would say that for the mint and other dial variations are worth considering (I don't think that I could pull off the mint dial version at my age). It would be a close call between the PM80 and the chronograph as the next step though but the chrono would take it by a whisker, the blue dial looks brilliant in the flesh and is arguably the most readable at a glance. Personally I prefer the panda as the date blends into the dial better, maybe a colour matched date wheel on the blue version could change my preference but that's just my opinion. I guess it won't be that long before Tissot produces leather straps for the chronograph as it too quite a while for them to make them available for the three had models. Many thanks for sharing.
haha! I can see you with the mint version on the wrist saying: AGE is just a number :D Honestly I would have to revisit and see the panda dial, true, now that I am sold to buy the design. :) Cheers Anthony!
Another great video Bro! The white dial with rose gold accent PRX chrono is awesome... Hope you can feature it too... Thank you
I bought the 40mm quartz in blue and green they are absolutely amazing watches think I'm going to buy some coloured bands to go with them and thinking of getting the prx gold watch as well
Forgive me if I missed it in the video, but what is your wrist size? The chrono fits you quite nicely
That second hand hits those marks pretty well. I sent back 2 for being miles off when it first launched and gave up. Wonder if you got lucky or just QC has improved.
With the automatic version, I will have to set the time with the crown more often. How long will the small gasket under the crown last to guarantee waterproofness? With Quartz, you will probably never have to solve this problem, because you will set the time once every six months.
It’s eye catching but would it kill them to put a damn frame around the date window?
They should charge us more for that :)))
That turquoise is a gorgeous shade. The dials are a tad spartan for me though.
What do you mean by Spartan?
@@mariog7213 stripped down to the essentials.
Thanks for comparing all 3. The 40mm works for me, though I can see it being a bit big on a lot of people with that design. I unfortunately haven't encountered the blue Auto, nor the blue chrono in my AD. I've tried on the white/gold 40mm auto and the panda chrono. The chrono was definitely chunky on my 7.25" (18.4cm) wrist, but I could pull it off if I wanted. I haven't encountered the 35mm model yet. I've tried on the blue quartz and that dial didn't do much for me. The mint vertical brushing is an improvement for sure, although that color isn't for me. I do kind of wish they had a little bit smaller than 40mm model as that would be perfect. I say that because I have a 39mm Autodromo Group B that wears wonderfully. I still want a PRX some day, but am having trouble deciding between that and the chrono. I am in no rush though.
Sea Salt Ice Cream color. I'm really mad they're not giving us fluted bezel options under €2000. If I wanted to spend that much I'd go with a more important brand like GS or Tudor.
Correction: "important" is a strong word since Tissot is plentiful in terms of history, but I think you get what I mean
Fluted with gold, indeed it's a bit too expensive for being basically the same watch with the same case and the same movement for less then half of the price. I would love a steel fluted as well :)
I picked up the chronograph, such a good looking watch
The smaller ones. So size matters more than the type of movement. I also prefer the more humble finishing than the try (too) hard inverse-waffle (sorry for being pedantic, I live in Belgium, waffles are life) pattern press made one.
But I will pick up a prx chronometer, with a decorated 2824 movement, in 35mm, with simpler dials and better interior AR coating.
I wouldn't miss the longer power reserve... But I'd love the 4Hz sweep, and ease of regulation.
Let me know how much for that...
?
Haha the diver looks great 👍
Looks like your mint green version actually hits the second markers. Not something I've found with other reviewers. I guess it's a matter of luck how this function works properly
Yes, I guess so :)
I do have a question - on the Tissot website the green contains quite a lot of yellow. In this video - and the one by Teddy Baldessarre - it’s actually more blue green, ie turquoise and therefore closer to Tiffany.
Hi
Where do you get this tissot box ? It looks much better then the one you get when you purchase a watch...
Indeed the quartz is a NO brainer choice for me. The chronograph is too chunky for me. Please Tissot reduce those chronos.
I would love to get me one, but butterfly clasps and my wrist are not a happy couple. With the leather strap it looses it appeal. But I still need to see it in real life.
The minty fresh colour I really love. Reminds me of the Traska diver.
I got the PRX Chrono Panda and it is really great watch.
Oh my god! that dial 🤩🤩
Totally agree....thanks for the reviews
Nice video again! Subscribed. What is the background music ? Thanks in advance ;-)
My white dialled PRX auto is a great piece, I’d love to see a comparison with the Accurist Origin, the quartz Chronograph looks like a great value option up against the Tissot. The green dial looks great in pictures, as does the all black but I haven’t seen one in the wild yet.
The Accurist chrono is super nice, the case is very similar in design. I like the case because you can attach normal straps to it.
Which of these 3 would you recommend?
1) Seiko SRPE51K
2) Tissot PRX mint (quartz)
3) Citizen NJ151-88M (ice blue)
Buying my first automatic however I tried the PRX mint and that looks and feels good as well. I really love the president style bracelet on the Citizen, however I haven't seen the dial, if it is a sky blue or the turquoise Tiffany colour. The later is preferred
None of them. Save your money and buy a decent wristwatch.
Where can you buy the mint
I have 5! Love these watches !
Looking sharp brother 👏 another great production ❤
okay after all this time, finally the prx interests me
I wish tissot release that yellow dial for prx
the 4 o'clock date window always ruin tricompax chronographs for me
Please Tissot, 35mm mint dial!
As soon as the take out a 35mm powermatic 80 in good colours I’m all over it, the only one they do is the gold things which doesn’t look that great
I wish the mint version was automatic too. Would’ve been perfect
Beautiful made video!
WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND PIANO SONG
I tried on the white/silver panda dial - absolutely beautiful, BUT just way too thick and top heavy unfortunately. My Breitling Navitimer is 14mm thivk but this feels 2mm thicker, even though its supposedly 14.5mm.
If it were 2mm thinner I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
TISSOT lost me when they added plastic parts to their automatic movements, such a mercenarian move: Lets produce cheaper pieces and charge more. Im stickin with the quartz.
Im not saying I don’t like the prx. I like my (Tiffany) green quartz. But I have a few watches and the prx is the smallest I have and don’t consider it some kind of monster and the quality of the watch is not all that. But it is a pretty watch but I consider it about £100 overpriced. Before buying definitely try a few other watches in the shop as well.
I'm very happy with the ice-blue 35mm I bought. 40mm is too big for me.
I was between prx pwm 80 and panda dial chrono. Finally got the blue power matic 80. It's great and very accurate. It was lost 43 seconds per month.
Great Review Sir (:
The Auto, no question.
Love the PRX, great value and design.
P.s. what’s the first backing (piano) track?
ES_Curtains Down - El Flaco Collective
Does the rotor wind in only one direction?
:) should work both ways
I would love a 30ATM version, I wonder what they would call it.
Pleeeeeeeaaaaase Tissot - release a mint / Tiffany dial PRX 35mm - it’s just about the only watch I’d swap my silver dial PRX 35mm for - and let’s not forget the sales potential to the female market - the hottest watch of the moment in the hottest colour in the smaller size? No brainer
The question is, will they roll out the vertical dial Finnish on future models as I much prefer it to the sunburst?
I would like to buy Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80. It’s good or PRX good appreciate your reply
Mid range would be amazing, I need like a 37mm
true :)
Hey could you review Accurist 70019 ? Looks of the PRX but way cheaper and with waffle dial in quartz
Calling this turqouise is a long shot. This is a bright green and for people that buy this expecting the famous turqouise from the last year, they will be dissapointed
This is more turquoise than mint. But I get your point :)
Tôi cung mới mua 1chiếc PRX coi nó như một món quà năm mới . Tôi rất yêu nó
I can imagine that they might put out a 37-38mm version just to add more SKUs and for people who are foolish enough to think a unisex 35mm, a classic watch size, is too feminine for them, but really I just hope Tissot puts out a mechanical 35mm in gold.
Really, to me, it doesn't really feel like there's a gap in the range between the 35 and the 40, because the 35 already wears larger than the diameter suggests. Sure, the 40 wears large too, but I feel the 35 bridges the gap by itself.
I have a 40mm and it barely fits my small wrist, (my first mechanical watch & I love it despite the size,) so I picked up a 35mm gold pvd cheap secondhand to try, and if a mechanical one of those is released I'll flip it and go for that hypothetical mechanical gold 35 instead.
This has to be one of the dumbest comments I’ve read in a while
