- One of my favourite aeroplanes, the Sopwith Camel from Hangar 9, an old model now but still plenty of fun to have with her, cheers.

Just love flying the early aircraft ... so much style and character 🙂
Cliff, the Camel looked great gracing the skies over England,Snoopy flies again.Great way to start the day, thank you for this.
Glad you enjoyed it Don, the aerial footage gives a different aspect 🙂👍
The onboard camera perspective is fantastic. Like flying the real thing without spending the big bucks.
It would be even better if it was fpv, thanks for commenting 👍
Sopwith F1 Camel… one of my all time favorite WW1 kites!!! Snoopy would be proud of you! Thanks Cliff…
Thanks Pascal, mine too ... and I'm sure he is, cheers
"Biplanes look great!" I never saw one I didn't like! That onboard was really cool! Thanks Cliff!
My pleasure, cheers 👍
I thought the little fuel pump was neat when you dusted it off, but seeing it spin from the "Snoopy Cam" was top-notch fun.
The torn covering streaming behind was authentic...I loved everything about this except that I wasn't there, too.
Thanks Ken, the pump is actually a cut-down prop on a very small motor, thanks for commenting 🙂👍
Just love the on board clips cliff
They are good aren't they Chris, thanks for commenting 👍
Right on , that was a cool little look of the country side .
Lovely time of year to be 'up there' 👍
Very nice!
Especially liked the return to the patch...excellent
Thanks Mike, I could have a 'return to home' switch to save twiddling the sticks!, Cheers
Fantastic flights! The onboard camera is really great. Was funny when you pointed the camera at yourself as if it was asking for help to get back on its wheels ;))
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew 😁😁👍
Did well in that breeze!
Hi Bob, she's got plenty of power under the cowl ... breeze, what breeze, lol, cheers
Super Cliff! Sehr schöne Sopwith Camel! Bin schon seit langem auf der Suche!
This one's ten years old now, a ready to fly model from Hangar 9, I'm lucky to have got her, cheers
Cliff fantastic flying and looking Camel, has to be fun to fly, Jeff in LA USA
Hi Jeff, fun to fly yes, but different to your average sport model, cheers
Great Bi plane Cliff, But I'm with you on the shiny covering!! Shame they used that covering on such a lovely model, you did well flying the Camel in that wind, and landing it was even better!! I've struggled before now with the Tiggy in the wind so great job 😀👍
Thanks Ian, I'll get round to refinishing her one day, sometimes a little wind helps with landing, cheers 🙂👍
Every landing you walk away from is a good landing............. nice little flight and a nice little aircraft crack on next
Hi Barry, absolutely, although without a seat belt it could have been nasty, cheers
Great that you show the not so good landings too 👍👍
Hi Philip, a bit of editing for the main flight using all the best parts from the morning but no, you can't believe everything you see on the screen, thanks for watching, cheers
Beautiful flight my friend! Love the onboard camera, looks like you lost a gun site though.. thanks for sharing!
Hi Jerry, thanks, the gun site was shot away by the Baron 😁👍
I watched this with interest and thought I should like to take my 1/3 scale Pup out for a flight. Haven't flown it for some years now.
Isn't it surprising how time goes by and a model sits patiently waiting for us Gudjon 🤔👍
Definitely something special about ww1 bi planes , looks amazing and great onboard footage
Thanks Kevin, you're right, 107 years is a long time to go back but well worth it, cheers
Captain Roy brown would be happy with your flying skills. love the FPV. thankfully you didn't end up with camel face. In my younger days back home in Bradninch I did meet a world war 1 pilot that talked about his time flying a sopwith camel and his chin and mouth were a reminding for him of nosing in and hitting the front of his sopwith camels cockpit.
Thanks, I was lucky enough to have met a few pilots from WW2 ... some great tales 👍
Bet your glad you dusted her off. Love the moving onboard shots too.
I am Mark, she's a great flyer 👍
Some really great looking scale details there Cliff! ( engine - etc. ) Enjoyed the flying and that one very nice landing especially.
Thanks Roger, as it's originally an atf model I can't claim much of the detail except the Rotherham pump on the cabane strut whizzing around, cheers.
Love it. My self l have nuieport 17 kit from 1968.thers somthing about those ww1 fighters 😊
Hi Trond, you're right, so much character 👍
Superb on-board footage, Cliff! It's so crystal clear, too! What camera was it, please?
Thanks Gina, it's just my Mobius, I like it because it's got a low frontal area, although it's not so good on a dull day 👍
Great flight Cliff, how was the camera moving about, or was it just loose? Great flight thou, she looked great. Glad she was ok after that landing at the end. 👍🏻
Hi Chris, thanks, the camera is on the top of a servo which I can rotate manually, I could mixed it into the ailerons to save fumbling around though. The best landing was number two of the three, I just edited it into one good flight lol.
Hi Cliff.
As always I love the video from the cockpit.
Have you looked into lens filters to get rid of the propellor lines (we call them spider legs)?
When I’m using my GoPro in full size aircraft the lens filter completely eliminates them without compromising the regular clarity of image.
Spider legs ... didn't know that. To be honest I quite like the effect 😁
Cliff great to see you put the Camel in the air! I need to do the same with mine, its been a few years now. The "in cockpit" views were great! Tough old bird. So interesting question...which flies better...the Fokker DR1 or the Camel?
Thanks Adam, she needs to be tough with my landings! My first flight with her ending in a cartwheel lol. Interesting question but I think, as models, the Camel is more stable and manoeuverable than the Dr.1, but the Dr.1 wins on sheer good looks, cheers.
Great flight and such a nice plane. I now need a biplane. Is the camera mount on it's own servo or linked to the rudder? Happy flying Cliff !
Hi thanks for watching, the camera is on its own servo which is operated by a knob on the transmitter but I can also link it to the Rudder via a Y lead, cheers 👍
Cliff, can you do a short video on using cameras in models please? Looking for some ideas.
Hi Nick, a very good question, and, would you believe, it's already been asked... here's the link czcams.com/video/QOPer45X_yA/video.htmlsi=m3gLHQPPTPe2d5hN 👍🙂
Nice one, Cliff .. I suppose you have some kind of plan, .. concerning that broken off gunsight, if you run into the enemy?
Thanks Ken ...point and shoot 👍😁
