  • Nothing says race car more than some straight cut gears with the occasional sound of an air shift.
We talk about the install and setup of our Quaife QBE69G Sequential transmission into our endurance racing K-swapped Honda S2000. Instead of using the common lever actuated shifter, we chose to use air shift to keep every shift consistent, along with the ability to have some computer aid with shift strategy and controls.
    Thanks to ‪@haltech‬ and ‪@MomentumMotorsport1‬

That's pretty trick! Very cool it'll prevent money shifts, and even better it'll stack requests so you can click off two downshifts coming into a turn knowing you want to leave in 2nd and it'll get you there.
Hypothetical: What happens though if you queue up three downshifts and then change your mind and only want two? Or Two are queued, you only want one. Does a shift indication up pull one out of the queue?

Looks like an excellent setup! Any guess on how much overall weight is added?

Is the clutch automatic or is the clutch pedal still needed such as first gear as you mentioned?

Isn't it best to retain a stick in case the air shift fails? They used to do this in WRC and it would have helped the Evasive S2K at Pikes Peak as that system failed on them.

Nope. We have an “emergency shift plan” if needed but these air shift systems have been in hundreds of real endurance cars and very rarely have issues.

Fan$y.. Any plans on converting the AIM PDM over to a Haltech PDM or Nexus VCU?

Not really. Unless there’s some reason too. The AIM pdm does everything so great. Haltech still missing the mark in the vehicle dynamics arena.
