Running burns joints faster for sure
No it doesn’t. I know a lot of older healthy people who are still runninh
Nah dude I thought the same thing but when I looked it up it actually said that running is good for your knees because it actually strengthens the joints.
how ever they did say you can experience some temporary knee problems problems when you first start out.
@@landenjones9374it probably good, when done propely, so with warm up and without pain
Yeah.... But you need to have a really crappy gait 😅
I walked 10 - 15 k steps everyday absolutely loved it ...lost so much weight without even making drastic changes to my diet. I swear walking really does it for me ....
For how much days did u walk(js for asking cs I wanna butn some wieght too😅)
@@fatimazahraremmach7466he found pizza and no longer walks anymore 😂 study 10k steps or do half to start use google maps to chart your path
I've done pretty much everything that you can think of regarding cardio (I'm 33 years old and I've been working out since I was 13 years old). Walking fast uphill burns the most fat out of all types. Add some weights on you, and you'll burn more. At least it does for me. No need to run/jog/sprint.
This!!!!!!
How bout walking upstairs?
@@JoeBudd-D that helps too. Add some weights on you.
I'm 5foot3 83 kilos should I walk with weights?
@@JoeBudd-Dwalking on incline
No fancy lighting, no fancy gym, no steroids, just plain good advice. Thanks
My pleasure!
When you eat and walk at the same time that how you know you’re at a different tier 😂 great stuff man
Running may burn calories faster than does walking, but the question posed was, "Which burns fat faster?" The answer is not so simple, but if a person runs too fast the body cannot burn fat and turns to catabolizing muscle for energy. Slow cardio allows the use of stored fat for energy. So the trick is to walk or run fast enough to burn fat but slow enough to avoid burning muscle. There's lots of info on CZcams describing this and how to do it.
What speed would that be?
@@al-imranadore1182 Read about muscle catabolism and Zone 2 training. Like I wrote before, there are tons of videos on CZcams describing these subjects.
Slightly incorrect. Once you surpass that certain tempo, your body doesn't start eating up your muscle, it starts burning carbs. Also, the body stops burning fat after your heart rate exceeds about 150 (varies depending on the person) and your body has to exceed a heart rate of about 120 to burn a significant amount of fat
Keep a pace you can talk at to prevent that.
Running will make you better at running. Diet will burn your fat.
Sprinting has been shown to increase metabolism and help with muscle gain
@number7red619 what do you define as "normal running"?
I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t feel hungry after cardio. I feel like I don’t want to eat for a few hours.
Same
I don't feel hunger after my bike hard training, but I noticed, that after few hours, or next day (more often) the hunger and appetite are bigger.
When I was 5 to 13 I felt the same way but from 14 to now 22 I feel that's not the case anymore and I just eat alot and I only weigh 133lbs which is sad because I only gained 20lbs of muscle from 17 working out to 21 and ate straight fast food and kfc which i weiged max 150 now all that went back to 133 so it's tough
I get hungry after lifting and then I overeat, cardio only makes me thirsty not hungry.
A simple Google search: The blood flows toward the muscle which needs healing like arms and legs, hence blood doesn't flow toward digestive making you feel loss if appetite
I think the only problem with cardio is that its simply boring
When i was working out i chose "games" (basketball, futsal etc) as cardio.. i dont know about other people but when people were walking and running for the sake of burning fat things got boring quickly and i got tired fast
If i was playing i was playing to win which completely make me forget about the "boring" part
Do sprint training instead. It takes like 10 minutes and it’s as effective as long term running
Correction, you find it boring, which is perfectly fine. But people who like it might find it winds them down or gets them out of their head.
Neither is better or worse perse, best sport is the one you keep doing and can do safely
@@439801RSit’s boring for me too. I had to take up boxing just to get it done.
It's true, sport you enjoy is great for the mental connection to the activity. Humans are set apart by our minds and hands, using both is great!
I run using my phone scrolling through youtube shorts before I know it the 30min ended
I Sprint 2 to 3 times a week and everytime I do I noticed my quads and core getting stronger plus I'm able to run faster each time
That's great!
That’s not the point of this video buddy. If you wanna burn fat more efficiently then running at a pace where you’re able to talk comfortably is better
@@TheGlowingOneeno, the point of this video was that the best way to burn fat is to go into a calorie deficit. Diet to lose weight, work out to gain muscle, do cardio to build endurance.

There are plenty of low impact excercises that are better than running that are more sustainable than running and burn more fat than walking and running
Light Rowing for example, cycling, slow skipping
But walking is the easiest to start and therefore be consistent with which is what it's all about
Running along with walking is probably the most sustainable. It's free other than some running shoes and no equipment required. You can do it virtually anywhere. The injuries are also overblown. I've been running my whole life and never had an injury. The vast majority are from upping mileage to quickly, not sleeping, or getting proper nutrition.
Start? I’m always gonna walk
Cardio is extremely good for your vascular system, shouldn't skip it for your heart. I personally love swimming and just being in water, but some team activity (foot, basketball), walking, stair walking, biking, spinning, hiit, aerobic, dance, many things you can spice it up with.
I don’t know if it doesn’t build muscle. Two years ago i started xc and after 2 months of consistent training I lost 35lbs total and my shoulders and arms were definitely bigger
good for you brother.
good for you brother 🏃🏿♂️
What's XC?
@@jinfin221 cross country (long distance running)
My avg steps per day are about 13k-23k cuz I am walking to school and back
that is legit
@@marcusfilly ya and it actually feels good
Lifting weights and increasing muscle to fat ratio is a good advice
for me , i dont enjoy lifting weights so i will never be consistent with it , i think u should choose excersises u love so that when it gets hard u can push your self more , i do a 2×30 min of walking at speed of 5mph and the last min at 8mph per day and a 2hours zumba dancing per week and it works like magic for me ( ofcourse with a caloric deficit and focusing my food on protein and veggies)
Is it true running burns sugars more than fat, while medium cardio walking etc. burns more fat than sugar.
I do fasted walk with 15 kg backpack for 42 mins. Works good.
@user-e9n6w Intermittent fasting.
I do both. I like incline treadmill walks in between my shorter 2 mile runs. MWF are run days. The other 4 days are about incline walking (and not necessarily steep inclines either). I prioritize strength training though.
Awesome that you mix it up!
Heart is also a muscle. Running builds your heart
It is important to note that cardio is not bad for you. All types of exercise offers a variety of health benefits - both mentally and physically. You do different types to get different benefits. But no workout session is wasted.
I just started walking a mile every day on the treadmill yesterday and I hope to start out side soon however the Texas heat is not cutting it
The Holes reference was gold
If you wanna loose wait then walk up steps or swimming or walking
crawling, walking, jogging, running, climbing, so many choices
As someone who experienced muscle atrophy due to illness and recovered through walking, I assure you that walking builds muscle.
Whenever I get into too much cardio, I get bloated and ravenous! It’s annoying but I stay on track with my food. When I get a good string of resistance days in a row the appetite levels out and I feel so much less bloated.
Sprinting builds muscle but you have to push yourself. You can build muscle pushing yourself doing anything per unit time.
Hard work is the only way to make progress in the gym.
@@marcusfilly exactly.
Zone 3 makes me so damn hungry after running. Could over eat all day
Definitely, I've felt that too.
I do both 10 min running , 15 min brisk more than a month , still not a single gram of weight lost 😢
The thing is you need to also fix up your food consumption. For me, I lost 5.5Kg in just 22 days just by jogging 20-30mn everyday and fixing my eating habits.
It may not build muscle but it build endurance which is also important
Exactly. More endurance means more possiblity to build muscle.
No matter what the 'exercise' is, *target heartrate* is the key to burning fat.
What weight exercises should I do if I were to be consistent with running? I do bike as a side cardio to help build my legs
Why would running makes you overeat ?
just follow your eating plan 🤗 it’s just that simple, plan your meal before you eat
I think a 2 mile run is easier to stay consistent with. It burns fat but you can do it with no euipment. My wife refuses to run, and has a whole cardio routine, but still skips a day or two, running is just simple. I grew up in cross country so i might be biased though haha
It's all about finding what helps you stay consistent. If that's running for you, go for it!
Running will get you fitter and more athletic
But it will tire you out and can affect other types of training
Walking will only burn fat but it's easy
HIIT will give you the best results when in comes to performance, it will take the shortest time and be the most fun out of these 3 types.
However it will never burn as many calories and it can be really taxing. It's simple math, you will never burn more than 150-200 cals doing a 10min HIIT workout but i's very easy to walk 400cals
Thanks man 💯 perfect info ❤
Nixe tip thank you , thats what im doing at the moment
The holes meme gets me every time
it is a classic!
The question about which one burns most fat is flawed. You lose fat when you're in a calorie deficit, and gain fat when you're in a calorie surplus. The main thing is diet, but it's also important to stay active and not idle around too much unless it's hard to walk.
I kinda disagree because if you ate more protein and walked, you would build/keep existing muscle. I love to run, but it always made me gain weight because I would get so hungry and lose progress in the gym (my booty would get smaller and weaker) . This is because our bodies are adaptation machines if you tell your body you're going to run long distances multiple times a week it's going to make that easier for you by getting rid of unnecessary muscle ( you don't need big muscles to run fast think of cheetahs and Antelope, professional runners are all really "small"). When you walk, there's no need for recovery time it helps rebuild your joints' ligaments and muscles and burns fat. it doesn't put so much stress on your body where it feels it needs to not waste energy. I'm currently experimenting with the carnivore diet I'm literally eating nothing but protein and animal fat, but I've gotten stronger even though I've not set foot in the gym. all I do is walk. If you are the average female Living in America you've probably been taught that we're not supposed to eat meat which means most of us are chronically under eating protein that could be why I've gained muscle because I was finally eating the amount of protein I was supposed to eat.
Walking is underrated. If you gave time its a great thing to do
In my case, running definitely burns more fat. After just a 5 minute run, I douse myself in 93-octane and strike a match to welcome the sweet release of death. This burns body fat right down to 0% very quickly. However, I do feel much less motivated the next day.
But that's not the point of concern... I stopped running coz I came to know that running (anaerobic) burns carbs while walking (aerobic) burns fat... I mean, if this is false I would give up walking the next day and would run coz it takes less time anyways.
Cycling enters the conversation*
Do more and put less in your gob

Cycling is the best. More fun too.
how about keeping it in the middle and jogging
Walking 10k a day is better long term as everyone walks and it doesn't make you hungry or exhausted.
Is running more sustainable in the long run?
I mean you could go to work and go home by walking comfortably every single day if you choose to do it
That already gonna burn you lots of calories and you could actually do it forever
Running takes a lot of effort just to commit to it, and running is not comfortable or fun at all

Awsome thank you exactly what I questioned thank you😊😊😊
Goggins hates running too but it seems like it helped him a lot
Walking 🚶♀️ a lot and lifting weights and high protein from diet works for me
I run martahons but during COVID I reduced 20kgs approx 45 pounds. Walking is a better method to reduce weight. Eat protein and fibre rich food if you want to run. But if you love running at a pace where you are able talk and run as well. Burns fat increase metabolism 😅
A better comparisiin is running vs stairs
I can run all day. Stairs I do 20 mins and I'm done lol
Eat to your blood type. I was 260 lbs. 2 months ago, now I'm 218 lbs. Eating type o diet.
both is great, but running gives you more confidence increases your lung capacity, your dopamine levels, and you loose fat face faster with it. But walking is also a nice add on to loose calories
there are other ways to increase your conditioning capacity and dopamine, too! rowing, biking, or ski erg are all great ways that I see many people who do not enjoy running have success with.
Thanks!!!

Sprinting
We're talking long distance running right? Sprinting does build muscle
Yes, I'm referring to running longer distances here.
We have jobs and things to attend to 😢 we cant spent all day working out
Who spends all day exercising?
Most of us know the benefits of walking but we are not disciplined enough to actually keep the walking routine. I started a challenge on my CZcams channel to walk for at least 3 times of 30 minutes each week. I will make a promise to upload the walk videos on my channel. This example will encourage anyone to walk with me. Let us go.
What about swimming?

I ran smoothly for nearly 3 months until I started experiencing discomfort in my right knee. To alleviate the issue, I took a break for 2-3 weeks and engaged in alternative exercises like burpees. However, the pain returned after 15 minutes of running for 30-40 minutes. Any suggestions or advice? I also made a mistake by not purchasing proper running shoes; instead, I used my regular walking shoes. Two months later, I switched to sport shoes, but they weren't designed for running. I later learned that this may have caused the knee pain. Additionally, I heard that combining running with stairs may not be a good idea. In my running route near my house, there were about 4-5 stairs, and I would go up and down them 4-5 times whenever I encountered them. Could this have been the cause of the problem?
Check out kneesovertoes CZcams channel - he has lots of stuff for knee strengthening
Do some light lifting with just your arms for a while, let your knee recover.
Maybe your quad muscles aren't strong. Try doing leg workouts.

Simple math about Body physiology, always train your muscles while losing Fat to get a stable physique. Avoiding strength training and fasting diets makes you lose fat but also eats up muscle. Results - loosen up skin making your body look like a polybag
Jogging has bad side you said but sprinting has good you said it doesn't and that's building muscles

What my problem is I have little to no energy I will weight train a day or two then I have no motivation go do so
Motivation follows action. Find a sustainable plan - right now I'm loving 3 days of full body.
Strength training burns the most in the long run by building more muscle 😎
Running is the answer
Running does build muscle
Running speeds the process, literally
Love the holes reference lol
That's not what mens health magazine says. Weight lifting barely burns fat compared to walking. Always go cardio for fat loss, walking is recommended or bike
Lifting weights (AKA building muscle) increases your resting metabolic rate. In other words, you'll be able to burn more fat even while at rest.
Don't get me wrong, I love doing cardio for health and to feel my best. But building muscle is the ticket to efficiently burning fat.
You literally don’t need ti do either if your strength training and eating right. Cardio is needed for no other than health purposes. Cardio is optional, and anyone can get the same results as cardio, by just simply moving around
You're right that you can see results without cardio in the gym. But I am a big proponent for incorporating cardio for health purposes.
"Cardio is needed for no other than health purposes. " That is wrong if we are talking maximizing overall health.
@@jimwing.2178 cardio is very good. That’s the bottom line.

Running doesn’t build mussel in the legs ?
I heard that running builds oyster in the legs.
"neither one builds muscle" wtf do you mean? cycle is hypertrophic on your legs especially the quads
In my experience, only relatively untrained individuals will see any hypertrophic effects on their legs when running.
How do you guys walk to burn fat? Even though I walk for 3-4 Kms everyday but I see no change... Only i get so tired everytime
Search for Zone 2 Training. Study up and then try it. It is possible to lose fat if walking fast enough and not increasing food consumption. Also 2-4 km probably is not far enough. Definitely not far enough if you walk slowly.
