Jesse Ventura would've beaten the crap out of that interviewer if he had less self control. He was one of the legitimate tough guys to step foot in a wrestling ring.
This should be titled “Top 20 cringy interview questions causing celebrities to walk away” long title but more fitting.
Most of these the interviewers were just massive pricks and crossed serious lines, like the asshole that insulted Jesse Ventura, insulted veterans, then fired off some smug stolen valor line while acting like hes a tough guy with a _medal winning navy SEAL Vietnam vet._ That's some next level cringe

Exactly, he doesn't need to sit there and talk about a part of his life he doesn't like to talk about when he's meant to be promoting a movie. The interviewer just goes for a reaction, same with Quentin Tarantino and Richard Ayoade.

I don't see it that way. I think they're saying the interviews are cringe, but they don't specify who is responsible. That interview was insanely cringe, but it was obviously on the interviewer in that case.
An interviewer could be stabbing a guest and when told "stop stabbing me" they will reply..."oh come on I haven't touched you".
On # 13, you are incorrect about the reason the Bee Gees left the Clive Anderson interview. It wasn’t just because Clive said he forgot the name of one of their songs. Clive had been making fun of them the whole interview. Barry had enough of it. Any one who knows the reputation of the Bee Gees knows they are very respectful, gentlemen. They didn’t deserve Clive’s immature, demeaning treatment. Maybe watch the whole clip before assuming why Barry left the interview. If you watch the whole clip, it is obvious it was deserved.
As for the Bee Gees and Clive Anderson. I was watching this as it happened on live TV. Anderson asked if the Bee Gees used to be called Le Tossers before they were called the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb said they changed the name because it had a different meaning worldwide than it has in Oz. Anderson said he still thought of them as tossers. And that's when Barry Gibb stopped smiling, stood up and walked off. Followed by his brothers seconds later. Anderson didn't know what to do. He just sat there looking stupid and grinning. I laughed my socks off to see him brought down a peg or two. He had a habit of saying snide comments like this and guests just took it. . Anderson is a smarmy little git.
Anderson was being extremely rude, calling some of their songs "Tossers." One of the highest grossing singer/ songwriter groups, deserve a measure of respect.

Barry Gibb didn't walk out on Clive Anderson because Clive had forgotten a song. He walked out because up to that point in the interview, Clive had been subtly mocking the Bee Gees. This video doesn't show the full interview.

The last straw was Anderson calling them Les Tosseurs - he pronounced it Tossers.
I remember watching many of these 'interviews' and my main response was "I'm impressed that they stayed that long!" Some of these 'reporters' were trying to act all"I'm more intelligent than you are" and they ended up just looking like complete dickheads! The first one I really remember was Clive Anderson and the BeeGees, it wasn't just him not knowing their songs, but he was trying to be an 'edgy' comedian by making crass jokes about their music including did they squeeze their anatomy to reach the high notes. It was not funny and just damn right disrespectful! I know that some celebrities can be complete Divas but I was impressed that they all decided to just walk out instead of decking the git!!
I still remembered that interview with RDJ and that journalist. That was an awful way to mention it during a time when RDJ is there to discuss his movie, not his past personal struggles. Glad he walked out without getting angry or upset. Instead, he then one-upped that journalist with a better one. HA. What a moron. 😆
not only that it is old news why go there? Robert Downey Jr wrote a book on his drug addiction . his history with his father back when he made the move Chaplin and even opened up about all this on Oprah. basically that interviewer was just an asshole for doing that at all. totally unnecessary and a bit vindictive reporting not real journalism ethics at all
@@katokamakazie5549 Agreed. Downey Jr deserves none of that from a not well-known British journalist prying into his past problems. That explains why a few days after the interview, RDJ posted a picture of himself with American journalist Diane Sawyer.
@@twist58 Also, I’m somewhat annoyed w the manner in which RDJs walkout was portrayed. He sat there for perhaps five minutes of rude, intrusive questions which he continuously tried to turn back to his movie u til it became plain that that simply wasn’t going to happen. (I’ve made up the amount of time - but I saw the interview, and the length of time ~5 minutes of rude questioning entails is remarkably long). At that point in time, RDJ wasn’t a needy, new actor who didn’t have the ability or say the Hollywood background to allow him to stand up and leave. He was already a megastar who sat there thru that crap simply for the good of the movie & attempting to throw off the continuous jabs at himself. It could have been a little shorter, it could have been as much as ten minutes. But it was excruciating to watch, and I was amazed that he remained calm even as he left. That’s amazing acting right there. Up there with his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin.

Barry was the oldest and had enough of Clive making fun of them. Clive mocked and made fun of them over and over. Barry stood up and walked away out of respect for himself and his brothers. I loved how they followed him as well. Clive was stunned.

Shannon didn't walk out of that interview because of the interviewer, she walked out because of Gene's behavior lol.

The guy interviewing RDJ was a complete snake about his interview; he started with innocent questions meant to promote one of his movies and then asked RDJ verbatim if he thought he was "truly free" of his history of substance misuse. Like how inconsiderate can you be? In the span of 5 minutes, mind you.
Yeah, but Roberts drug use was pretty much put on display for the everybody to see. He even fell asleep in someone else's bed. Luckily he did a 180 and is nothing like his former self.

Why? He's given old records of relatives to people he's interviewed before with no issue. I can't say that the relatives in every case were dead, but odds are some of them were.
Really though, I just want to know why you think that's bad. I'd be amazed and appreciative of something like that, as most of the people he interviews are

@@joeywalker2061: Yeah, while I wouldn't necessarily call it "messed up" imo, it's one of those things where different people react differently. Some would be happy to have those memories brought up, for others it might bring up painful memories. Mind you, I'm sure Cudi had mentioned that his uncle had passed (see "Rain") but even then, I can't really say that you should or shouldn't show passed relatives' records ("high risk/high reward", probably have to get to know the artist a bit and all)...

He was being playful, as he usually is. Barry Gibb acted like a tosser. British people gravitate toward someone who can take the piss out of themselves. Gibb made himself look stuck up here.
@@Revelian1982 I'm British myself I fully understand any nuances here, Anderson was being playful but overstepped his mark with a international band that spent too much time getting their arses kissed in the USA to be able to take jokes like that at their expense. Gibb was being self important but was still insulted on TV by being called a tosser which he should have laughed off and returned some insult in kind to Anderson to make things even, but he couldn't deal with it and stormed off, hence this great clip.

The Bee Gees were so polite given the fact that the arsehole interviewer was making fun of them and insulting them the entire time making them out to be a joke. Barry did the right thing by politely leaving. His brothers followed.
The interviewer was Clive Anderson. He really could not read that he had gone too far as you can tell by his expression when they leave.

Bieber’s interview is a joke to be honest, imagine getting one of the biggest celebs on your radio show and then butchering it to that extent. @Justinn Mai I'm not a huge Ventura fan (actually it's more his theories that I think are kinda whacked) but you are absolutely right. In fact I'm going to take up a notch and I REALLY , REALLY wish he would have blasted that fucking scumbag little slimmy puck Jim Norton. Who the fuck does he think he is talking to ANYONE like that ESPECIALLY a Guest on the show. I wish Ventura would have been a few years younger in that interview. Don't get me wrong Ventura would have still handed that fucking science project mutant blob of a human his ass. But a Younger Jessie "The Body" wouldn't of held back. You can tell when he was just staring at him he was probably just thinking of how easy it would have been to take that POS apart limb by limb. But he was the better man and just walked away while all that dude could do was run his mouth. I HATE people like that because Norton knew that if Ventura did go at him that security would have handled it quick and then the dude would have probably sued or something. Ventura is a former professional wrestler. Whenever you hear stories of wrestlers going after civilians it always ends pretty bad for the civilians , whether they are in their prime or not. Look at Ken Patera and Mr. Sieto taking out all those cops. And that's after they were maced and hit with night sticks. Or when Jimmy Snuka was arrested at the Howard Johnson's motel (which was literally right behind my house). It took 9 cops and a couple of K9s to get cuffs on him. One cop said when he went to grab Snuka he was met with superhuman like strength. And in this case Norton is way below human standards as in physically. Sorry so long ..... You can say it ticked me off too a bit. Lol
