Which confrontational talk show moment made you feel the most uncomfortable?
M
That time Murray Franklin had Arthur Fleck on his talk show while Arthur was dressed as a clown. That confrontation blew me and Murray away.
Here's an idea for next video.

Today I found out that Ellen DeGeneres once forced Mariah Carey to admit she was pregnant on the Ellen show. At first Mariah was not really wanting to answer, so Ellen was like “hehehe okay fine then lets toast with some champagne to you not being pregnant ;)”... obviously Mariah had to decline the alcohol and admit she was pregnant to everyone. Three weeks later she miscarried. Something so heartbreakingly sensitive that should have been able to be handled in private and secrecy was then forced out into the open. Ellen sucks.
Never cared for either one but that’s cold hearted

Such an awesome response. Cavett was so quick on the uptake, and he didn't mince words.

It was nice to see Mailer get it
Cavett didn't take any sh*t, did he. He was awesome.
The look on Dakota's face was hilarious. She called Ellen out!!!
I see what you did there. Bravo.
Thing is, Dakota Johnson says she lies all the time, about everything. Did she lie here, too? Maybe.
"Perhaps you'd like two more chairs to contain your intellect"....brilliant!!!
"Actually no, that's not the truth, Ellen. You were invited."
I'm not surprised at all now that employees have come forward to complain about they way Ellen treats them. She seems like such a bitch and so phony.
It all makes sense now
First of all, Ellen is probably invited to so many events, she can’t be expected to remember all of them. She has already admitted that she doesn’t attend too many parties, that’s just not her. Ellen is a home-body. She just pretended she didn’t get the invite. She was joking, that’s what she does and what we all do...

@@metalmarty3948 yes right she felt so restless on videos I've always seen that but of course i didn't want to just spread hatred online but sometimes the actors felt uncomfortable you can feel it despite them just in a video. Anyways this isn't surprising.
That wasn't Ellen's comedic timing, that was a sociopath being herself.
😂😂😂
Right on!!! 🤚 high 5!!!
Jealousy is not a good thing people.... that’s all this is. Besides her being very, very, very, rich 😊I’m sure her choice in marrying another woman probably doesn’t help. Gays are never going away people, so just get used to it.
@@NEILZEE11 no one is jealous of gay people. And who cares if she's rich. Her poor personality disorders is sad. She's a very unhappy WOMAN! Money doesn't buy happiness. Gays have been around since biblical history. Biggly! Evil selfishness and hate she is.
Sorry, which one are u saying is the sociopath? 🤔

The Cavett takedown of Mailer is SAVAGE!!! Mr Intellect was left speechless.
By far the best show I've seen. The whole show needs to be watch. Thank god Janet Flanner's wasn't in charge as she wanted to end the damn confrontation. "Do I have to tell you a quote from Tolstoy?" 'Fold it five ways and put it where the moon don't shine'.
I love Dick Cavett. What an absolute class act. Cavett to Mailer: "Perhaps you'd like two more chairs to contain your giant intellect".
I MOSTLY like Cavett (Remember these guys were Johnny's competition???!!!!!), but I HATED his comment on one of his shows, saying that a certain someone committed murder, which is STILL not proven, as you would HAVE to have been there to know FOR CERTAIN...CHEAP SHOT from a usually intelligent and well-spoken person!!!!!!!!
He's a talentless jerk
Vidal also had a nemesis in William F. Buckley. I just remember Vidal knew just how to push Buckley's buttons. Vidal obviously had the same effect on Mailer. I was surprised Cavitt was so rude to Mailer. Perhaps it was justifiable.
there’s also that time he used the n-word right in front of eddie murphy. very classy
@@LukeBaatjies-LBN4K I was going to say the same thing.
That clip with Dakota Johnson on Ellen's show gets funnier each time. Savage haha
Yeah, it was a bad move for Ellen to try to drag Dakota like that. It back fired hilariously.

The Dick Cavett segment was the best, in my opinion. He was absolutely savage…
Yes and he didn't have to scream at the top of his lungs or stick a finger in anybody's face.👍
IMO, I've always thought Ellen is a bully with a sadistic streak. She enjoys making people feel cornered and says things to try and make them feel humiliated.
Yeah, I didn’t think of her as a “bad person”, as I’d never really watched her show before. A good example is when BTS went on her show and she asked some question if they gotten hooked up with one of their fans, totally out of the blue and against their Korean culture to discuss. And she kept demanding that her question be answered. Totally rude, insensitive, and, tbh, mean. Like, what normal interviewer does that, anyway!?
I agree
Ellen is one of the biggest no talent gas bags of all time. How she ever got to be as big as she did is a complete mystery.
@@deaconblue5211 I guess some people (incredibly, unbelievably) like her. No idea how. She absolutely sucks

I swear, these would be so much more entertaining if this channel would let us see more of the actual interactions and less time describing it to us. We are here to see the compilation of the footage more than hear your take on it.
Exactly can’t stand it .
That's why their lists are the worst. They love the sound of their voices way too much. They describe what's going to happen as it happens, instead of letting the viewer see it for themselves. We don't need a tutorial.

If my friends dragged me to the Wendy williams show, I would be on my phone too.
If your friends drag you to the Wendy Williams show you need better friends
You wouldn't have time... the segments move very fast, and unlike other talk shows, it's pretty much a dance party in between segments, thanks to the MC and DJ present. So, save your attempted diss for a different talk show. And if you're gonna be on your phone while hanging out with your friends, you're an asshole.

Dakota Johnson is extremely non-confrontational, yet she always stands up for herself. Good for her. In one of her interviews, Kimmel brought this up about how she confronted one of the Kardashians in a party as they had decided to tow her car which was passed down to her by her grandparents and so had a sentimental value.

Actually the vast majority of people thought Jim Everett came off very well indeed in his refusal to take Jim Rome's obnoxious disrespect any longer. He warned him clearly and could've beaten Rome to a pulp, but instead simply shoved the little chirper down and left him in a heap.
I bet you 100%, Ellen’s producer was internally like, “Please don’t put me on the spotlight. I don’t want to say anything that could risk me getting fired or blacklisted *Cries*”. Lol

Ellen was always mischievous, liked pranking/ scaring etc. and pushed the envelope ( which for many LGBT helped her and their cause ) but it was always playful, in " good fun " and healthy. I noticed as time progressed ( blame it on boredom, power, ego, needing a bigger and bigger fix whatever ) she started to not see the line, respect boundaries or have compassion. Sometimes even using her staff or guests to become her puppets as she directed them into more and more awkward moments or uncomfortable situations. I watch the same things happen in everything from CZcams comments, to people and places in my own life and everyday world. Maybe it's a human foible, I just try to ask myself does the good outweigh the bad? Is the person a danger to themselves? Others? Does something demand my attention? My involvement? My acceptance? My forgiveness?
What? Am I a judge? Am I on jury duty? Who's watching the neighborhood watch group? Get me?
We seem to create idols and pedestals to only later want to smash them and bring them back to our size, back to earth, reality w/e whether it's our own image or someone elses. If we like anything, anyone, anywhere you have to accept a few imperfections, how much, how often, how repulsive?
I wish mojo would show us a little more of the drama instead of saying how intense this was…

how was Joaqin Phoenix on Letterman not on this list??🤣🤣
Maybe they felt it was “staged” since Joaquin was putting on an act, even though Dave had no idea he was going to act that way.
The Andy Kaufman, Crispin Glover (1st one) and Joaquin Phoenix interviews were all staged.
I loved the "Late Night with David Letterman Show". So funny. Viewer mail, The Man Under the Stairs (Chris Elliott), Stupid Pet Tricks, Stupid Human Tricks, Larry "Bud" Melman. His interviews with Teri Garr, Sandra Bernhardt, Brother Theodore , Andy Kauffman and Crispin Glover were hilarious. Great musical performances, too.

Rivera milked that for years..... Someone knocked a folding chair away from someone who had picked it up....Somehow Rivera got in the way.......Rivera came up with several self-aggrandizing versions of events, but he had to calm down in the face of comments from others who were also there.....
Tom Selleck handled himself really professionally. Rosie was the one that came off looking bad for how she did the interview, and she got quite a lot of backlash for it afterwards.

I think the Geraldo one should have been number one. I remember watching that on TV when it first aired and you can feel the tension mounting. You just knew something was about to give. It was definitely explosive.
Yes, and it was a honest to goodness real brawl. Not like that Jerry Springer shit.
There's an interview that Sinatra did with Walter Cronkite that could make a list like this. There had always been talk about Sinatra and him knowing people in the mob. But nobody ever asked him about it because it was taboo to do so. Well the Cronkite interview was supposed to be no holds bar, he could ask him anything. Cronkite asked right out of the gate, very first question, if he knew anyone in the mob.
Old Blue Eyes reaction was jaw dropping! Sinatra looked shocked & furious as on live television he got a phone & asked his lawyers if he had to answer that question. It was awesome. Should be considered for someone's list. 😎

You could have done at least 19 of these entries just from the Letterman show, like Crispin Glover's appearance, or Joaquin Phoenix for example.
I don’t understand why Jon Stewart’s showdown with Tucker Carlson on Crossfire isn’t on here (given that The View and Today are represented). Now, THAT was memorable.
Because Stewart acted like an immature instigator. It wasn't a surprising conflict.

new strategy - put same entries in the lists with slightly adjusted title.
You guys obviously don't pay attention to the video titles.
They've done this before yes, but it was for the top 10 moments. Now it's the top 20 moments. Yes, half the video is recycled from the last one, and that's actually a genius way of making sure everyone's seen it because not everybody watches all these videos like we do lol

I will never forget the first time I happened upon her talk show. I was glued to the set wondering if I was watching the first drag queen with her own talk show on daytime TV. I just kept looking intently for a clue is it real or is it Memorex? It didn’t matter but she was saying I was just bewildered by what is it and of course I tuned in on purpose after that show and she is entertaining in a mindless sort of way. Same as you standing in the line at the grocery checkout and you read the cover of national Inquirer and all the other trash mags.

She is too highly-strung.
As for vince mcmahon and costas, it was definitely a gotcha interview. As for his and a lot of people putting down wrestling, I defy anyone to find any other sport that requires as much gymnastic, strength, and teamwork while all the time following a script as to who is supposed to win or lose.
I mean, sports don’t have scripts, that’s a performance. Im pretty liberal with the word “sport” and when it applies, but if you’re not even competing then it’s not a sport. Wrestling is more like a circus - the stuff they do might be impressive and entertaining, but ultimately a show put on by a crew.
