    This General probably knew these young soldiers personally. He obviously worked with them and shared respect with them. Then one day he loses them. The bravest, most loyal soldiers. Knowing they died horrible deaths, and he couldn't be there for them because he was only informed after too much was out of hand. Shame on the higher ups for misleading the heroes. RIP

      I watched it just now and it actually enlightened me alot, I was way too young back then to understand why my dad kept saying this plan is so dumb and how this is just for the money, now I understand why because of tragediaries, this plan has lot of holes on it, a lot pointing and blaming the opposite parties and a heavy tragedy as these heroes could be alive with their love ones but their lives were ultimately taken not just by the people who killed them but the people in charged or are in the higher ups. This also gave a negative impact on protecting our country as the clown attended a Mitsubishi car opening event rather than welcome the heroes

    As a retired Veteran, my first question is who gave the order? For a size of 44 soldiers, that's a major operation, so how the mission operation was Coordinated? Were there any support units standing by for protection or extraction? So, with what happened, what lessons have you learned to avoid this massacre and lose of soldiers from happening again? Rest in Peace SAF 44, may your lose be remember and doesn't go in vain.

    • @yeeahyeah9246
      @yeeahyeah9246 Před 2 lety +47

      there was no soldiers to extract them, no back ups even after requesting for one simultaneously i dont even think that the soldiers have a concrete understanding of this mission, they were basically left alone to be massacred one by one after their bullets ran out and back ups never answered, and the worst part is this group is the same terrorist group that the government signed and gave millions of dollars for a peace agreement. the general that conducted this mission wasnt even supposed to be handling any mission because of his pending graft case, but was given a green light by the late president administration himself.

    • @ediblehao
      @ediblehao Před 2 lety +18

      @@yeeahyeah9246 the MILF was not informed about the mission. During the actual operation an officer in the field contacted the officials that ordered the mission and told them that the MILF got involve and to contact them immediately to ceasefire but that official ignored the warning because he said it might cause a conflict between the MILF because they were still in an ongoing peace process.

      I'll oversimplify it
      400 SAF Troopers
      41 at Seaborne, tasked to kill Marwan (success) and Usman (failure)
      36 at 55th SAC, tasked to open a pathway for Seabirne to escape
      300+ SAF troopers guarding key bridges to stop any civillian and enemy reinforcements from entering
      The Army arrived late when it was already like 5 hours when the SAF were besieged
      It took the SAF 2 hours to kill Marwan and 22 hours to fend off the enemy eho's encircled them and they had no chance of escape
      55th SAC and Seaborne were 100 meters away from eachother but are sorrounded by more than 1,000 MILF, BIFF And Private Armed Groups
      The rest of the Army could not help as they don't know the location of the SAF but the other 300 would not give information as they are too scared to enter or simply misinformed or even not given any information at all
      The stranded ones were the ones who gave the infomation
      By the time the Army arrived at 10:00 pm which marks the 24th hour mark of the operation, they found the horrifying results
      Out of 36 of the 55th SAC, only 1 survived by escaping in the river, and out of 41 of the Seaborne, 9 have died
      This indicates how much of an operational failure this mission was and how it could have been avoided

      Thats what Im also after too sir...why send a battalion size inside a known enemy lair if your mission is to capture an HVT? Wouldve been better if they sent a squad size or a fire team with 4man to sneak and snatch or kill the target then sever his finger in a way nobody notices from the time they enter to the time they exit.

    I'm deeply sorry for your loss and understand how seeing news about the SAF 44 can be particularly emotional for you. The tragedy that befell the SAF 44 was indeed heartbreaking, and it profoundly affected many families and the nation as a whole.
    The government and various organizations have provided support to the families of the fallen SAF 44. This support often includes financial assistance, scholarships for the children, and other forms of aid to help them continue with their education and daily lives. While the specifics of each family’s situation may vary, the intention has been to ensure that the children of these heroes can pursue their education and have a stable future.
    The emotions you feel are completely natural, and it's important to find ways to cope and honor your father's memory. Staying connected with support groups, talking to loved ones, or seeking counseling can be helpful. Your respect and admiration for your father and the SAF 44 are a testament to their bravery and sacrifice. They will always be remembered for their courage and service.

    After watching the movie, it made me realize hanggang ngayon wala pa din nanagot sa nangyari sa Mamasapano. We are all for peace pero how come many turn to a blind eye when it's clear as a day that the MILF does not follow the peace process.

    What hurts in addition is Gen Espina was left out into this operation despite being the PNP chief.

    I just watched the amazing documentary about the SAF 44 "Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told". I feel sorry for those who died, it's been 9 years already but if you watch the documentary and report footage online it's like it just happened yesterday. 😞 I hope the troops and their love ones will get the justice that they deserve.
