i think that either avada kadavra only worked because it was the "owner" of the horcrox that casted it namely Voldemort himself or its an unforgivable curse Dumbledor whould never use it so therefore Harry whould never use it.
Yeah I kinda agree with this. Dumbledore said Voldemort must me the one to do it and no one else can so that would make sense

I think part of the process in making a horcrux is instead of murder you actually have to torture someone, either to death or to insanity, like killing seems a little too easy if someone is willing to split their soul to be immortal? Also Jk Rowling assistant was really disgusted in what it took to make one and just killing someone doesn’t feel like it’d really bring out disgust like that

Quireell is described as Harry's first kill so like, I think maybe because he killed him without the object meant to kill horcruxes..it just like...moved to a new vessel? One of many plot holes lolol
also, the avada curse worked on harry in the forest ONLY BECAUSE Voldy made it and only voldy could destroy it kinda thing!

I think it is the opposite. “I am the heir AND I can achieve immortality!” I do think that Voldemort knew or figured out he was the heir of slytherin after finding out about his mother’s family and since he could talk to snakes. There really weren’t that many wizards who could speak parseltongue. Plus if Harry could hear the snake at certain points in the castle Tom was definitely take the grand tour.
He didn’t open the chamber the first time I don’t think as a 5th year especially since how are it was to get back up the slide. He found the chamber first got the snake to obey him then talked to Slughorn and got the horcrux train running.
how did dumbledor know to extract the books with the horrocrux information when he became headmaster if he didn’t know what voldy was doing until the 6th book when he goes looking for the ring and asking HP to get slughorn’s memory?
that is a truly wonderful question!!! maybe this adds to the theory that dumbledore suspected a lot sooner

I think the ring is actually the first horcrux he made, because it says he visited the gaunts in the summer of his sixteenth year, so he would have been 15, so that would be the summer before his fith year.

There is something oddly poetic about the basilisk that can kill with one look being the thing that can also damage the soul in some way / enough to split it. If I remember correctly, the ghosts in the castle are representations of their former selves, not real spirits. They were made prior to death to serve as representations. But Myrtle was a child, why would she make a ghost for herself prior to death? Is she just a fragmented soul to some extent because of the basilisk?
in her story she goes on to torment the girl who bullied her before her death so it may have had something to do with myrtle being an angry soul bc she wasn’t originally confined to the castle it was after the ministry had to intervene bc ghost myrtle was getting so out of hand they confined her to the castle

Maybe the soul fragment from Quirrel survived bc he wasn't destroyed using Basilisk Venom, but the protection on Harry eroded the Horcrux shell, so the shell was destroyed but the soul survived
i REALLY like this idea this is so good!!!
The soul part wasn’t destroyed just the item/carrier. So yes harrys mother’s love was enough for harrys physical protection ie Voldemort couldn’t touch him but not a destructive force enough to destroy a soul.

In the books Quirell is killed because Voldemort quit his body and Quirell couldn't survive that
yes!! i didn’t like to think of quirell as another horcrux he was a possessed body
