it's absolutely insane that the UFC of all organizations will crack down on insider betting and esports still won't... mental. thanks for the content Rich
I was watching the mma hour live and i was mind boggled when this clown coach james krause legit admited to illegal or at least unmoral betting on his own fighters and even betting while at events with basicly full inside information, like bro wtf
Because it wasn't technically illegal or against the rules in any way. It was very common in MMA. The only thing that would be considered illegal is if he placed bets against his fighters, which one can make the assumption for with the Minner fight, but no one knows. I recommend watching the Helwani breakdown coverage if you care about it, because it explains the entire scenario.
I would fucking LOVE to see Richard doing MMA journalism. The landscape of journalist with integrity in MMA, consists of Helwani only. That bag needs shaking up.
What an absolute crazy story. I remember when I was playing sports in college, the NCAA did not allow us to place any bets on any sports sanctioned by NCAA. It's insane to me that nothing like this is in place / wasn't in place for UFC.
"Why can't we be like UFC?" From my understanding the UFC is around for a similiar amount of time as esports. Yet the UFC only now banned Fighters and Trainers from betting. The ban of Krause seems to me much like the IBP ban. A warning shot but knowing how the UFC is only interested in profits, I doubt they will try to actually invest to keep it clean going forward.
The basic lesson: even the small, private sins of the individual can hurt the innocent* larger organization if proper action isn’t taken. I’ve been passively watching the issues with ESIC and match fixing, and it’s a Gordian knot problem, but it should be dealt with or it could do serious, long term harm to CS in ways we may not understand currently
Isn't the biggest issue that the UFC seems to be so dependent on the betting industry? To me it's even a lot bigger thing than the whole crypto drama in E-sports and F1. At least Crypto doesn't stimulate wanting manipulate the outcome of the matches themselves. Also I don't care about insider info being used, let the grifters just grift each other. The whole premise of betting is tying hustle some else out of their money. Oh, and just wanted to say that I love your content it;s very entertaining and insightful!
The insider info on Manny Pacqiou versus Floyd Mayweather must have been crazy. For those who don’t know Manny hurt his arm but the loser was still set to win 25MILLION Dollars so he fought anyway. So what was supposed to be a great fight was practically guaranteed that Mayweather would win. In football, I could easily see Lamar Jackson on the Ravens telling his friends hes definitely not playing in this Sundays football game way before he made his official announcement stating this (he is the lifeblood of that team and they score half as many points when he doesn’t play) This stuff probably happens all the time
UFC really going downhill lately. I mean look at some of the recent decisions, the judging is not fair at all - it seems like they heavily favor different fighters. Then Dana does his best damage control and says there's no issues, despite the majority of the comments on any post anywhere where talking about how rigged it was lol.
well fighting sports such as this do lead to head trauma so i can only imagine the dude snitching on himself on the biggest mma podcast is cause of his brain not being fully there....
I keep the same opinion as I've always had: betting on yourself/your team's win should be fine. Anything else like loss, draw, ko round, corners or goals conceded should be obviously off limits
As compelling as your argument is, Richard, this requires critical thinking skills and integrity, both of which are at an all time low in esports (especially so without you).
A UFC Coach running a betting site is probably the most mafiosa thing outside of the old boxing match fixing. Also 10/10 on that self incrimination.

the James Krause stuff is too funny. I mean like what has got to go through your mind to just snitch on yourself like that.
Rap Snitches...
He went full Tate

Check out Karim Zidan. He's done some stellar work.
@@RLewisReports Thank you for the recommendation.

guess it was insider betting on their discord** lol wow
Wish eSports was really more like UFC as in I'd pay to see Rich put Loda in a triangle choke like we all know how it was gonna go.
Thanks for the endlessy entertaining content. Happy Birthday!

I enjoy your content thank you
+rep good journo would read and listen to his content again
Just in time for slow work, thanks Rich!
My takeaway from this video: I better go fix some Canadian Footy matches quick before they make it illegal.
Richard any chance you’ll cover UFC like you do with Premier League? That would be absolutely bonkers! 👊
Richard covering MMA would be so gold.

You know the industry is fucked when you're looking to the UFC for guidance
Richard I would love if you covered the Ufc
I love ur content
Ty for the content
I really, really didn't need the Sonic reference.
Happy Birthday, Richard! Thanks for keeping us sane, entertained and up-to-snuff for so long. Drink another one for me.
Blatantly outrageous
7:11 advertisement money hitting rock bottom
12:47 that legit sounds like TJ Dillashaw
I also wouldn't blame you for betting on a one off game you had a little hint about the outcome of

Will we ever see Declan Hill on the RL Show again? This shit is madness.
"That's fucking illegal" - Dana White
Even the FBI is investigating apparently.
same FBI that was supposed to be investigating NA matchfixing in csgo? 😂😂
algo
“I don’t make shit on coaching” LOL coaching is the expense of getting insider info to bet with 5Head
absolutely bonkers

Damn how does this fly lmao worse than esports in some aspects
Classic UFC was so much more exciting and brutal. Bring it back.
Al gore's rhythm
These Canadians love to look good on Twitter, anything for a few likes. They went too far banning a whole sport when UFC clearly took it seriously.

Algorithm
Imagine only making money by disrespecting players and their livelihoods because they are B tier and can't choose otherwise
My only thought is that this is the guy dumb enough to get caught, and he didn't really get caught, did he?
I love it when criminals are as dumb as this coach betting on the games of his players. Makes life so much easier for law enforcement.
Bet snitch knishes

Stop calling dana a nonce. U got no evidence.
