SONY PICTURE PROFILES: What do Gamma and Color Mode do?

- In this one we'll look specifically at the Gamma and Color Mode settings in the Sony picture profiles using the Sony a7c to test them out, but the same settings (or close to it) are applicable on other modern Sony cameras like the a7 III, a7r III, a7r IV, a7s III and a1, and probably the forthcoming a7 IV too.
There are samples of ALL of the picture profiles, including S-Log3, HLG3, Cine4 and so much more.
I also made a video about all the other picture profile settings; check that one out here: • SONY PICTURE PROFILES:...
Thanks for watching!

Another great video! Thanks for the info!!!
My pleasure, sir! Honestly there's SO much to learn about this stuff it's almost overwhelming sometimes
Thank you for your effort and time! Very good video!!!
Hey thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful
Thanks for bringing the out time to do this!!
Hey thanks for watching! Hope it helps.
Very, very good. Thousands of thanks!
Hey thanks for watching! I'm glad I could be helpful
@@andreas1701d Really helpful, I was looking for something similar long ago
Greatest video, man!
Hey thanks for watching! Glad it's helpful 🙂
Awesome video, These tutorials of yours take a ton of time. I've been using cine4 mostly, and I find it that it color corrects easier than most, but I also noticed that when I turn picture profile off, and I just use the standard mode in the camera, it really looks pretty good, and the dynamic range is not bad at all. As long as you really focus on getting the shot correct in camera, these cameras look good without picture profiles as well. Having said that, Cine4 definitely works best for me. Thanks for spending all this time making these videos, very cool. And much appreciated
My pleasure! I'm doing for myself anyway so why not share it ;-)
But yea, the newer generation (ie since the a6400) of Sony cameras look great straight out of camera for most uses.
Where's that "Standard Mode" listed exactly?
P.S- It seems like Cine4 looks blown out and might mess with how you expose your shots.
@@eladbari set picture profile to "off" and then set creative style to "standard"
@@RockWILK Thank you! Is that for all Sony latest DSLR menus? Or is it only specifically a setting on the a7s3 or something?
@@eladbari pretty much all mirrorless. a6xxx series, a73, a7c, a7siii, etc….
Great video
Hey thanks for watching!
Nice one mate
Hey thanks for watching! Glad it was useful
Cine1 PRO looks great on this shot
You're a nice guy.
Hey thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Color Mode Movie is the best for most all Situations. Itu709 looks good in Outside but the Red Colors are to over saturated.
Only the Gammas is hard to Choice. Cine 3 & Itu709 is my Choice. Its loos almost simulat to the Creative Style Standart.
Andreas... I see you left a comment on my video, but I can't see it. I just see the notification. This has happened to me before. Do you know why?
Yea that's happened to me a few times... Let me try again...
But we’re these in picture profile 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, or 10
The purpose here was to change just one setting within the same picture profile (in this case, Gamma & Color Mode) in order to see the differences of those settings alone. Changing picture profiles entirely would have introduced too many other variables.
@@andreas1701d right! There’s so much that I’m not able to fully comprehend it all 😫. Thank you for taking the time to reply, sir!
@@gabecain2124 Hey anytime! If you have any other questions, feel free.
I feel like the "still" color mode is one of the best on sony cameras and almost no one uses it.....
Hey thanks for watching! To each their own I suppose, but my hope is that these types of videos help people experiment a little, having seen a comparative image from different settings. I know for me, it helped a great deal going through them all like this, though I confess it was long and tedious at times lol
