Switching to a Big Kid Bed

How old was your child when you moved her/him to a big kid bed?

I have a 3 year old who loves his crib. He is very tall and could have jumped out a long time ago but we have a zip up crib canopy that keeps him in. I don't plan on switching any time soon.
