Late Night Visits From Your Toddler

So, listen. I'm not claiming that I was immune to the cuteness of my kids coming into my bedroom and asking to sleep with me when they were little. It's pretty adorable. But it's not so cute when they start squirming around, kicking you in the back, somehow taking up the entire bed, and nobody ends up getting a good night's sleep. With that in mind, I've got I've got some tips for you in this w...

What to Do When Your Child Misbehaves in Public
I think my toddler not afraid or hating the timeout ... so Am I doing something wrong?
Straight up bs. Crazy that we've been in this earth for so long and no one knows anything. Also anyone whos baby has cradle cap, get some organic liquid virgin coconut oil and rub it in their head after showers. Youll never see it on their heads again 🙏🏾
Ya and when you set boundaries they just laugh at you
Actually the doing nothing came from psychologists books telling parents to ignore their crying infant / todlers to teach them to " self soothe". So manny parents still leave their crying babies in cribs . It teaches them as infants what level of scream gets them fed , changed or even just held. So they automatically go to that high pitch later cause it gets their needs met quicker. Holding , feeding and changing diapers on a baby is not spoiling it. It is caring for a child . Parents nowadays hold , charge and protect their cell phone more often then their children.
This is so stressful for the parent too omg the screams. I hate seeing my baby cry too
This is so helpful thank you!
1.5-2 hour wake windows are for a 4 nap day, not a 3 nap day. Otherwise that would only be 4.5 to 8 hours total awake time, max!At around 5 months or so baby should be able to tolerate 2-2.5 hours awake time, which is a 3 nap schedule. No 7 month old should be having 1.5-2 hour wake windows.
You're talking about my baby 😅
😊
My toddler son: Ooo clock! *will throw it across the room* 😂
All those problems are from diapers. 50 years ago kids were pooping from about 9 months while moms were holding them above potty and then from about 1.5 years they could sit on potty and poop by themselves.
Tell Daycare stop forcing 2 yr old to take one 12-230 and won’t go to bed until 11pm -midnight.😡
Useless video, I'm sorry. "You have as problem? Just stop having that problem." Gee thanks
My daughter is 14years old sleep the whole day but refuses to eat, what should I do
0:12 not true ????? My child hasnt ate one bit in days so please dont say parents are lieing my hasnt ate in days nothing and no she thesnt have favorite foods no snacks i mean nothing but milk so speak for yourself
After spending the last four years trying to convince my child that monsters do not exist and having a rational discussion about the issue, I can say with certainty that that approach has done absolutely nothing to improve the anxiety around bedtime. All that it led to was him lying in bed worrying for long periods of time and then not telling me about his trouble sleeping.
What if your two year old sleeps in your room?
My baby sleeps so much better after her advice. The only sleep prop my baby needs is a bottle of milk and his swaddle or sleep sac and he gets a good 4-7 hours at night at a time. He sleeps in his crib and is 3 months old. Thank you Dana!
My child actually doesn't eat. Period. He eats fewer than 200 calories of food a day. He only wants formula. Even if I give him food he likes he won't eat more than 50 calories. He will only try meats and crunchy things but he will never eat more than 50 calories in a sitting. He's 3, and had feeding issues up till 2.5 by now he's complete able to eat but chooses not to. I try "starving" him from his milk and formula and he still won't eat. Sometimes he will go s full week without taking any solid food
i was the 1000 like
I'm struggling with my 4 year old boy, he really doesn't want to eat anything besides milk and biscuits 4 year old already and still hasn't eat any normal food, don't know how to force him to eat😢
I just did that and worked! lol.
My 21 month old daughter sleeps for two hours then wakes up and plays for 5 hours
And if the baby wont fall to sleep in the crib but ONLY in our arms, then how does this tip help? (tired, frustrated father)
😃 "Promo sm"
I think wanting a child to hold pee for 12 hours is idealistic thinking, we adults we go to the bsthroom once or twice at night, also ot is not good for your kidney to hold pee, best you can do is have s potty in the childs room, don't wake him just put him on the potty they pee back yo bed, first you fo it like every 2 hours and uou elongate by 30 min every 3 days or so till you need to do it once. Put child to sleep at 3 am on potty by 5 years they will go alone to the bathroom.
Hi Dana! Thanks for the video! I have a question. We follow the sleep training for quite a while. Her cue is nursing to sleep. So I actually moved nursing to step 1 and it works great and I don’t have many issues with the first falling asleep. However after few hours she usually wakes up and is hungry again and then she has a difficult sleep afterwards. I try to put her in half asleep but she wakes up every hour after that. We tried skipping the nursing but she would just cry for an hour and it was horrible. So my question is what to do when they wake up in the middle of the night?
I never figure it out. I tried everything so my baby could sleep longer than 2-3 hrs at night, buy honestly nothing worked. She finally decided to sleep more than 5 hrs until she was 13 months old. She is now 3 and just remembering how hard it was, I don’t want another baby even though they are adorable haha.
No yay Okohpoop
You are really right! My baby can sleep without paci but when she wakes up in the middle of the night she cries and cries but when i put she stops. So what other choice to do?
Highly unhelpful and judgemental video. Thanks for nothing.
Hi Dana, do I have to train naps and night time at the same time?
I am my son’s sleep prop any suggestions to get him to sleep without me? 😩
Hi I’m Dana too! lol
This phase has been 1.5 years in the making 😂
Yeah? Well my one year old only eat 40 grams of baby cereal for 2 monthsbecause I gave her more choices and didn’t insist on eating bcs my crazy paediatrician suggested that I have to just take the pressure of and trust her cause her body knows better. All I can say is HER BODY KNOWS SHIT. She got underweight and starter to lose her milestones. So I started to fool her into feeding. Sneaking bites. Put her to eat 5 times a day and even if she’s not eating more than 60 to 100grams of food at a meal, she’s starting to gain weight and be healthy again. Made a full recovery in 1 month, but NEVER trust a baby with the fact that he knows best what and how and how much to eat.
My baby is 28 months and not stopping the milk / bottle at night. She wakes up 2-3 times for milk. Now she have bad cavities. I am struggling a lot. Tried all types of sippy cups and straws
Hi Dana! Can you help me? I can’t make my daughter to take naps during the day 😞 I learn to walk with her to make her sleep and when I put her in her crib she wakes up 😢 or she “sleep” for 5, 10 or 30 minutes max. At night she can sleep better. For example from 10 pm to 5 am most of the days. I’ve heard from a pediatrician that we need to put her in her crib and just talk to her until she falls asleep and if she starts to cry, we just have to talk 🤷🏻♀️ or if she’s crying for 10 minutes we can calm her down and star over again. But my heart breaks seeing her crying for seconds💔 What can I do? I’m desperate here 😭
Hi! Desperate mom here seeking help. I have a 2.5 year old and she recently as of last month she developed a fear of the grinch and monsters. Now when we put her down she cries in her crib for a while and I have to sometimes climb in the crib with her so she can fall asleep which o know is not a good habit. What can I do?! 😩
Hey Danna I like your necklace on your body and I could play with your necklace on your body
I like to play with your necklace on your body
This WILL DEFINITELY CAUSE PTSD!!! Your Pschopathic strategy borders on ABUSE!!! Guaranteed ANXIETY, CLAUSTROPHOBIA AND MORE FEAR OF GOING TO BED!!!
Needed to hear this...thank you!
Thanks! We have twins so it's especially hard because they sleep near each other and we don't want our boy waking up our girl! We may try moving him to another room and letting him cry it out for longer. Hopefully it works- we're starting to hate his guts!
What about naps? My 2.5-year-old daughter usually naps for 3 hours and now every other day she refuses to nap at all, which is a huge problem because my 4-year-old son usually goes down about 1/2-1 hour after she does. Now if she doesn't nap, neither of them get a nap. If I put him in there when she's awake, she keeps him up. And I don't really check on her except every so often to see if she's pooped (which is common). She's deaf with cochlear implants which she doesn't wear in bed, so I guess I need to learn "I'm not coming back" in ASL... I am an HSP and if I don't get my alone time, I am useless for the rest of the day (overstimulated and anxious).
Hi, does having a glow in the dark toy affect a child's sleep?
Yes, this is exactly what's happening in our household. And it takes a while for my 10-year-old to get to sleep, so I usually fall asleep with him (sometimes before him). 😂 The weirdest thing happened a couple of nights ago. I had fallen asleep next to him and was still next to him, and he got up and went to my husband to ask for me. My hubby gently told our son that I'm in his room, and he went back to his room and climbed back into bed with me and went straight back to sleep. My hubby followed him back to his room to make sure he was okay, but then he (hubby) could't get back to sleep. I slept through all of this, but during the same night, I saw my son get up to go somewhere and told him it was still nighttime, and he settled back into bed. Interestingly, I also used to sleepwalk and sleeptalk as a child, and my son talks in his sleep most nights. Sleep walking is his latest trick. 🫣 Could it be because it's school holidays and his sleep routine is out (he's going to bed later than usual, especially if he has a friend sleeping over). Or because he's doing too much digital screen time during the day? Is he about to grow out of the need for having me with him at night (you mentioned it's children from ages 8 to 11)? I've been loathe to withdraw because it makes him fearful... but now if he's waking up thinking I'm not there even when I am there, it seems a bit pointless to be there, right? 🤣
I tell my kids to clean up in their face. They say they will but never do
