Wow, this is fantastic! I played this a couple of years ago in public, and it is THE most demanding piece I have performed yet. To play it all by heart is no mean achievement. Her articulation is flawless, the tempi are perfect, the organ is beautiful. What more can you ask for?
The pedal work at the end is what separates the amateurs from the professionals. My wife has played this work as a postlude at our church many times.
An organist as a wife?? You are one lucky man!
@@henrykwieniawski7233 She is amazing.
As a contemporary of Bach said...
"As if an angel has come down from heaven and played for us."
I hope this wonderful person will stay many years amongst us, and spread the music. Absolutely the holy trinity of perfection - music, musician and instrument all in perfect harmony. Chapeau!!
Anmutig, als wäre es ein Leichtes dieses Stück zu spielen. Wunderbar, der transparente Klang dieser Orgel, wenn eine Meisterin sie spielt.
No sheet music, this is impressive. Magnificent!
Played completely from memory - not gazing at a piece of paper!
Speed and perfect articulation, something we don’t hear very often. The polyphony is as clear as a bell, all voices easily discernible. Magnificent organist playing a great organ. Doesn’t get any better than this.

Fully agree!
I'm an enthusiastic amateur organist, and I wish I could play this, but *it'ssofast* Yes, I ran the words "it's so fast" together deliberately. Anyway, I love this piece.
The organ helps with this as well. Getting the articulation correct is easier on an organ designed for baroque music.
Quite right: each voice sings, sound is earthy, limpid, articulation totally assured at this generous pace. Enjoyable as it is instructive.
Superb. A real tonic. That shows us how it should be played.
Johann would have a huge smile on his face after this performance of his masterpiece! Bravo
This performance is absolutely amazing. She has it all -- perfect tempi, rhythms, articulations, steadiness but with subtle agogic accents defining the structure of the music, drive and excitement. Yet she looks completely relaxed and at ease. Monica is one of the finest organists of her generation. Play on and on and on, dear Monica!
Absolutely indeed. Just amazing.
orglet your compliments are beautiful! Are you a writer?
And yes, this performance is outstanding!
amazing ? Beautifull inspiring uplifting fresh
And...way, way, way, *WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY* TOO FAST!! (see above note)...
Woah
Incredible to me that this composition requires both feet and both hands to play. The ability of the human brain continues to amaze me.
I used to play the organ and at first I thought it would be impossible. But over time with plenty and plenty of practice it started to work and the feeling you get when you master such a skills is incredible. And it is indeed amazing how your whole nervous system seems to adapt to allow you to do something like this. I agree that this is a superb rendition of BWV532, impressed with the organ too and it sounds great even though the organ seems to be standing on the ground floor of the church, which is really unusual for a baroque organ this size.
Beauty will save the world.
Bach and you are definitely contributing to it.
Wow! I've heard some appalling versions of this (by some very well-known organists!) but this performance was wonderful. Nicely registered and perfectly timed, and a treat to listen to. Thank you for posting.
I'm sure this comment will be lost among all the others, but I was attracted to this video because back in the '70s, long before the current sanctuary and organ of Christ the King were built, the church met in what I am sure is now the Fellowship Hall. Back then, I was a member of the Houston Harpsichord Society, and we had numerous meetings in that building, including most memorably a concert by harpsichordist Alan Curtis and baroque violinist Lucy van Dael.
I am delighted to see and hear what a fine instrument now inhabits the new church, and to enjoy such a wonderful performance Monica has given us of BWV 532. Christ the King has always had the good fortune of having members who supported the very best in music, and it is wonderful to know that this tradition has continued.
Hey, thanks for your comment. There's a stunning Bösendorfer in the Parish Hall, but this organ truly takes the cake! Hopefully you get to hear it in person some day!
@@MonicaCzauszBerney I'm in Fort Worth now--hope to get to hear you in concert some day.
I'm thrilled whenever I see/hear a dedicated Baroque instrument. It's a costly decision for a church to build, house, and maintain a "general purpose" instrument as well as an amazing instrument such as this.
How do organists resist the urge to stand on those pedals all day? That reedy beefy sound is just unbeatable.
This performance, this piece, and this fine recording, has haunted me for weeks. Absolutely gripping on all counts. Ms. Czausz is simply gorgeous in this video. Thank you!
What stunning virtuosity - absolutely blown away by this performace of one of my favourite Bach compositions, Well done indeed!
Martin Chambers I FERVENTLY AGREE. I'm an enthusiastic amateur organist, by the way.
Just beautiful. No other words. Bach is eternal.
jmcyow you are so absolutely right!👏👍
I'm an enthusiastic amateur organist, by the way.
@@claireforestgreenorgangeek7144 God bless you for keep playing this marvelous instrument.
I agree
I am mesmerised. Started clapping, even though I'm alone in the room. BRAVISSIMO!
I'm not sure what more I can add to the comments I've read so far. Her performance is stunning on all accounts. This is one of JSB's highest musical achievements, and this rendition expresses its brilliance as sound.
I love how at the start of every note you can hear a *puff* of air. It enriches the music so much.
in tears.
I have listened to this beautiful recording many times. I have studied others but they mostly seem heavy and muddy due to excess bass and muffled highs.. This recording is bright and alive and I have to conclude that Monica and the instrument are a perfect combination which produces such a beautiful sound. Thank you for providing me with so much enjoyment.
This is one of the most perfect performances of any piece on any instrument. If you’ve listened to lots of baroque organs music, as I have, you understand just how accomplished Monica’s performance here is.
Conosce a memoria tutto il pezzo!
Great memory and Great organist.
A stunning performance in every way. Such a lively acoustic, registration and articulation. Brilliant memory work - thank you Monica, just beautiful!
I have never heard a more wonderful rendition, and the organ is truly beautiful. That reed which speaks so clearly in the pedal is magnificent.
Hard to imagine a more perfect and beautiful performance of this work. Bravo and thank you!
Ms. Czausz seems completely relaxed when playing this somewhat animated music. A real pleasure for eyes and ears.
MASTERFULLY played, and it beyond words how such a what seems to be a DIFFICULT work can be performed without a sheet of music...IMPRESSIVE...This is one of my FAVORITE works for me BACH...Whoever gave this the thumbs down, I simply don't understand...
Flawless and crisp - every voice perfect. What wonderful playing - a very real joy. Thank you so much...
I had not heard this lady before. My loss! Marvelous performance. Well articulated and with excellent registration. All the voices in the fugue are clear, not muddied. Made my day!
What a wonderful performance! So glad I came here.
Amazing. ! It held me spell bound. What a gift to have been blessed with. And then played from memory, and with such ease and proficiency. God bless, and thank you for posting.
Ms. Czausz makes it look so easy. That is part of her amazing artistry. This is a wonderful performance, clean and articulate in every way. Thoroughly enjoyable music.
Quelle magnifique interprétation ! Tout est clair : une excellente registration ; le Tempo idéal ; une merveilleuse articulation ... une maîtrise absolue de l'Orgue. J'ai attendu si longtemps pour écouter telle merveille !! ... BRAVO & MILLE MERCI !!

Wonderful performance of this stirring piece! Thank you for posting!
One of my favorite Bach organ works. Outstanding performance!
Brilliant performance by a great artist! Fantastic tempo & articulation & technique, it brings to my mind performances of M.C. Alain & E. Power Biggs. Also, a wonderful instrument.
Outstanding performance of a piece that epitomises JSB’s organ works.
Amazing performance! Great to listen to a high-skilled artist as you are. Really! And of course Bach's music is forever glorious.
I'm speechless!..astounding co-ordination!...and another amazing Bach work
Absolutely Magnificent Organist......Musically as Well as Technically .
An exquisite performance!
To play Bach this good without partiture, is a sign of good musical talent
Beautifully played. I love the clarity and superb phrasing. And the organ is a real star.
A great composer, a fantastic organ player, well done, thank you.
Superb playing from someone so young, I have heard many recordings of this piece, and I really believe it is amongst the best. No I am not a musician of any kind, I just enjoy listening to those who are.
Monica Czausz, thank you very much for this video and for playing. An astonishing and most perfect performance!
Crisp, articulated perfection. The registration is perfect and Madame Czausz allows us to hear every voice. Wonderful playing!
This performance has mesmerizing clarity. I think I have watched 100 times, and still I am rapt. It connects with Bach and communicates the artistic essence and blossom to us. I can feel the control in articulation, tempo, and rhythm that are the key modes of expression for instruments of pure touch. Kudos to you, Monica, and I hope to hear more of your stunning work.
What a triumph! Loved it. Thank you!
Fantastic. Wonderful performance. Sublime in every way! Thank you!
One of the most joyful Preludes and Fugues performed with a considerable lightness of touch.
In one instant I was converted to heaven and found myself dancing to organ music, here at home as I listen -- how well you made this speak of God -- how splendid Bach tells us of heaven. God bless Monica Czausz for this gift amen
This performance has inspired me to learn this prelude and fugue. The interpretation reminds me of one of the greatest Bach players E. Power Biggs.
this is a wonderful performance, really...mam Monica! i can sit and listen to your performance any number of hours.... The interpretation of the piece is exquisite and the footwork is so perfect. Thanks for sharing!....
I heard it for the first time, but I thought it was a soft performance that gave a glimpse of kindness in the intensity. I will continue to listen to it from time to time.
Fabulous in every respect. Thank you so much for this magnificent performance. Tears in my eyes.

This is perfection for BWV 532 ... Precision articulation and a beautifully voiced instrument!
I love watching and listening to you play. Thank you.
Very well done. Relaxed, all effort put into the performance (and none wasted on looking at a written score or flipping pages), neither too fast nor too slow, maintaining the tempo through the pedal parts, and well articulated and registered. A fine and very appropriate organ as well! Thank you for sharing.
Mind blowing. Look at the leg work. Enchanting
Sjajno i jednostavno. Tečno. Lepršavo. Odlična akustika i orgulje. Super! 😊
God bless you and your parents, Ms Czausz, for keep this brighting sounds living in these dark days. Dominus vobiscum!
A brilliant performance and played by memory 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎶🎵..stunning pedal work, specially in the fugue 👌🏼😊
J'admire, personnellement, la parfaite maîtrise de l'œuvre et de son interprétation. Bravo et merci!
Absolutely magnificent rendering. I intended to watch a minute or two but was nailed to my seat to the end. Thank you.
Here's better, way better: czcams.com/video/pbU3preF97o/video.html
@@CLASSICALFAN100 I find Schweitzer's rendering too slow for my taste though there may be arguments to be made for both speeds.
Spectacular playing Monica!!! Simply awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! One of my favorites! And played wonderfully! Thank you for inspiring me!
Bravo!Un pur délice!!
Fantastic playing both artistically and technically. Thank you!
Brilliant music, beautiful organ (pedal reed especially) and exceptional footwork. Fabulous.
This was wonderful to watch and listen to, especially with the double video of the pedal and keyboard. I am learning organ and the small footwork is very helpful to see. Brava 👏🏻
I think Bach would have been very happy of this performance. Thank You, Monica!
Who is to say that he isn’t listening?😊
Thank you so much Monica♥
I am going to study this P&F with your brilliant performance that can make happiness =))))!!
Perfect performance on a perfect instrument by a perfect organist. Congrats, and thank you for posting it!
The organist, organ and registration work together superbly to wonderful effect!
Beautiful video also... I can see all at the same time. A very elegant way to play Bach... a very elegant Organist ...perfect articulation of all voices with a great fluency ... congratulations again. The organ instrument is very interesting ....
BALDASSARREBRENTANI I am an enthusiastic amateur organist.
Fantastisch gut gespielt, Donnerwetter ! Eine Könnerin an der Orgel , geht ins Herz ♥️
Outstanding performance, outstanding music! Bravo! Just great!
Wonderful in all areas....my favorite: Pedal Perfect!!! Thank you for feeling your music, not just mechanics only.
Hardly ever I can see such footwork dexterity, real pure talent that girl is. Serdecznie pozdrawiam pani Moniko z Bolesławca. Bardzo piękne wykonanie, dobór rejestrów i właściwe umiarkowane tempo.
This is my favorite piece by Bach and I really enjoyed your interpretation/performance. It reminds me a little of Jacques van Oortmerssen's. I am going to keep an eye on your tour dates!
I'm blown away by your performance Monica. I hope I can ever get to this level of dexterity in my lifetime
Absolutely outstanding performance! Thanks for sharing.
Splendid. And what flawless footwork. Messi and Ronaldo: eat your heart out!
LMAO!!! ;0))))))
sublime, senza enfasi, ed eseguita con estrema pulizia. Questo è Bach!
È VERO!
A most perfect performance!! This sound for this organ is huge!!
A perfect execution, good tempo, great authority, for this famous "Prelude and Fugue" of great Genius from Eisenach! Brava!
This is why the organ is my favorite instrument!
Sublime! What a perfection, Bach would have been proud of you.
What a wonderful performance. Without sheet music, no less! As a past organist I can honestly appreciate greatness here. Thank you for sharing ... so very much!
Great understanding of JSB..... articulation, tempo, voice-leading, the lot!! ANOTHER young woman who has a gift.
And that is how Bach is played.
And no music. She is just wonderful. The camera work is so terrific to show her magnificent work on the pedals! Just a wonderful performance. We are going to a performance on the wonderful Sydney Town Hall organ on Monday - the comparison will be interesting.
There's quite a difference in size, with Sydney Town Hall being one of the two organs in the world with a 64' rank (Contra Trombone 64'). The other one is at Boardwalk Hall Auditorium (64-foot Diaphone-Dulzian).
Beyond comprehension that she has this entire piece memorized and her feet are independently assisting the playing as each hand accomplishes its task.
Elegantly beautiful, thank you, Ms Czausz .
I could not agree more. Just like Bach's her feet flew over the pedals. Marvelous!
William Stead
William Stead ... and even though I am an enthusiastic amateur organist, I can't play the pedals because I have *difficulty with hand-foot coordination* Sad, isn't it?
Indeed! Great Bach I'm sure is applauding this wonderful musician for the way she plays his music. Bravo, young lady, BRAVO!
Wonderful performance.
Hi Monica. Not only is your playing superb, but, whomever you had record this, did an OUTSTANDING job!! Excellent video all the way around! Thank you for posting this, it's a true gem!
Very well played! I know how difficult this piece is from my own experience and I have never heard a better performance!
