    Thanks for the safety switch video. It took forever to find a video about this small portion of the throttle assembly that can totally stop your boat from starting. Now to figure out how to diagnose and repair mine on Quicksilver 3000.

      You're welcome Thomas! It is amazing how the smallest things can keep you from going anywhere...

    I have a question on that gear that the throttle handle goes on, isn’t it supposed to be able to rotate independently of itself when you press the throttle only button? My button stopped working so I took it apart and it doesn’t seem like they can rotate independently. I can’t seem
    To find that part online either to replace it.

    What was the starting problem?
    I have the same throttle control box and sometimes I have to pomp it multiple times to get power to the start engine switch
    Thank you

      No starting issue, but I had a beeping alarm every 60 seconds above 3500 rpm. Replacing this was one of the possible fixes because if this was bad, the computer would think the engine was still in neutral when the RPM's reached 3500. This did not fix the alarm, but was worth the peace of mind to know this switch was replaced.

    Great video, did the new switch fix the starting problem?

    • @WiscoBoater
      @WiscoBoater  Před 3 lety

      It actually did not...but replacing it was a step in the process. What did fix it (after an adjustment after this video) was the neutral safety assembly sensor. These two components can throw the same code, so both were replaced.

    how did u know where each cable screwed down to at 26:00 ?

    • @WiscoBoater
      @WiscoBoater  Před 2 lety

      I made sure to put it back together with the levers in the same position as they came off, and the cables have different length barrels and rubber pins positioned in different spots on them, so they only attached correctly one way. I also took LOTS of pics when I took it apart to refer back to.

    mine is stuck in throttle only.... button not popping back out

    • @WiscoBoater
      @WiscoBoater  Před 3 lety

      This video does show how to pull that button out, and then at the end I put a new one in...but if it's stuck, you'll need to pry it out (it will break) to pull the throttle lever off and probably lube the push button on the control. Unlikely the spring is broken. Then the new one just snaps in place.
