Yay glad you got to try so much of bike stuff! Neat to see what's changed. Ironworkers' Memorial Bridge was my bike commute about 20 years ago. The sidewalk was about as wide as the Ballard Bridge back then before they upgraded it... but it did at least have a better barrier than the Ballard bridge sidewalk has. Used to come down that same switchback as you on the Vancouver side - looks identical to how I remember it back then. Ah BC Parkway, the old "7-Eleven trail"... Don't know if anyone still calls it that anymore

Wow, I can only imagine how harrowing it must've been to cross that long and high of a bridge with little to no protection! I tried to get a good chunk of what Vancouver has to offer, but I can always see more during my next trip

@@bobco85 Hah turns out I recorded it. This was years after I stopped working on the North Shore, but a bit before the upgraded sidewalks were put in. The provincial government was doing bridge sidewalk upgrades at that time - the Burrard bridge was done soon after the Ironworkers Memorial.

@@alexwarrior1 Wow, that's quite narrow! It reminds me of biking across the Roosevelt Memorial Bridge from the Mount Vernon Trail in Arlington, VA to Rock Creek Trail in Washington, DC (I grew up in Arlington), except the railing is knee-high so you're constantly worried about falling over into 60+ mph traffic. goo.gl/maps/QGu722iL1iKPsFiC8
