    It's crazy that this show starts with a cute little boy catching a big fish in his village and then we get to this point.

    The first verse is easy to interpret provided that you remember that Uvo's Phantom Troupe number was 11. The first thing Chrollo read was a confirmation that Uvo was dead - "the eleventh moon quietly rises", and "the mourners play a melody". The other verses I needed the explanation which you get later to understand.
    I never noticed before the expression on Chrollo's face when the girl starts doing her prediction. As soon as she's not looking at him, his expression reverts to that of someone slightly unhinged (I saw it in the close-up, but you can also see it in the previous shot - suddenly, he doesn't look like a nice guy anymore).

    "I'm glad that they don't overpower the two kids"
    Nen aside, Killua is completely freaking OP. Gon won against Shizuku on the right hand but would presumably have lost on the left hand. That means he's physically about as strong as she is, which means he's relatively equal in physical strength to the bottom tiers of the troupe's arm wrestling rankings (fun fact: The anime never shows the arm wrestling ranking but Togashi added it in the manga for fun, Hisoka is #3 behind Uvo and Phinks and Nobunaga is actually lower than Franklin remembers here, he's only 9th iirc, so firmly in the bottom half. Shizuku by comparison is second to last, only Korutopi is weaker iirc but she's still not the weakest).
    Gon opened one door (canonically, in the anime they fucked that up), Killua opened three which means in term of physical strength, Killua is around 4 times stronger than Gon (or at least was before Heaven's Arena but they didn't train physically there, they did like 16 matches before learning nen and they all lasted 1 second each. No training here). Even if the gap between Gon and Kilua's strength has lowered, it hasn't by much considering how little physical training they did which means that Killua would easily rank in the middle of the pack for the troupe in term of physical strength despite being a scrawny kid. Killua can push 16 freaking tons without any nen!
    The funny thing is that there's a chance Killua is actually stronger than the boss of the phantom troupe in term of physical strength. The boss of the phantom troupe is exactly in the middle (7th out of 13) so it's entirely possible that Killua is stronger than him (once again physically, if you add nen, the kids are completely overpowered) and if not, they're probably very similar in strength anyway.
    "I thought she didn't mind him, didn't she heal him?" I too would heal Hisoka for 70 million yens and I certainly wouldn't like him if he was real (an awesome character for sure, but IRL? Blah)
    "I don't think Kurapika is physically stronger than them" Kurapika is around Gon's level of physical strength, the 4 ton door. Maybe a bit more but it's hard to say. Only Leolio is firmly stronger than Gon and Kurapika since he opened two doors (so he''s at 8 tons level of physical strength). So yeah Kurapika is probably around the very low ranked troupe member's level of strength. He's much weaker than most troupe members.

    In case you don't quite remember or nobody mentioned it: Chainsaw Man has a direct homage to the scene in the end, when they have their nut-kicking contest, playing a requiem for Himeno.

      @fejknamn6853 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don't see how it's a reference?
      Playing a requiem for the dead isn't a Chainsaw Man thing or a HxH thing, that's just what a requiem is.

    • @szandorkane6372
      @szandorkane6372 Před 6 měsíci +4

      @@fejknamn6853 I totally get you being sceptic about it, I also don't really like attributing mundane things in literature to "references" at all times. However, this one clearly is - the anime doesn't do a perfect job depicting it aside from using almost the same exact dialogue "(Himeno)Uvo, can you hear us (up in heaven)? We're playing you a requiem.", but the way it is "shot" and the music being wildly different makes it harder to discern.
      In the manga, the dialogue is a bit more unique and still matches almost perfectly, while the panel construction of the pages is also extremely similar, so it is much easier to see and appreciate in that comparison.

    • @dajtoad1
      @dajtoad1 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@fejknamn6853 no, it's not. A requiem is a mass or musical service in honor of the dead. This is carrying out an act of violence, of revenge, making that act a prayer, an offering for the person who was killed. In HxH the Troup massacred hundreds of people as an offering to Uvo's soul. Here, it's just torturing one person, but the idea is exactly the same. They even say that it's an offering to Himeno.

    18:00 yes Kurapika at this point should only be stronger than Killua and Gon when he is against a Troupe member and as long as he chained them up. He’s like an insecticide to the Spiders. He only was able to really hurt Uvo with his enhancer fist because he put Uvo in zetsu mode. Basically if Gon was the one punching Uvo when he was in zetsu while Gon’s using enhanced fist, Gon would be more or less around Kurapika’s level if Gon were as mad of Uvo. But Gon isn’t really the type to kill someone so I doubt he’d have been able to deal Uvo the same damage as Kurapika did physically.

      Kurapika is stronger against anyone, not just troupe members (SPOILER)

      The fact that he stopped Big Bang Impact shows he knows Ryu. He also knows Ko since he uses that against a captured Uvo (and Ryu is a less extreme version of Ko anyway, without the Zetsu on the rest of the body). He knows how to infuse more aura in his chain so he knows Shu. On top of that, Gon & Killua didn't train for two months beside the "other" nen, while Kurapika just trained the whole time. His Ren is probably much better, he wouldn't be able to face the troupe otherwise. If your Ren is pitiful, it doesn't matter if you have full control over every category, you're still a weakling in all of them and Kurapika isn't. Most likely because there was no break in his education, he just trained Ren the entire time kind of like the kids do on Greed Island and later.
      Kurapika knows an entire set of advanced nen techniques, he is stronger than Gon & Killua against any nen user because those two only trained the basics. Without Ken and Ryu you're not even really a nen fighter yet, not a decent one anyway.

      @@Arkayjiya This is all true after a certain episode reveal. But as of the time of them watching this, every detail leads to the idea that they should be just around the same strength without scarlet eyes.
