Carter!!!!!! I had tears in my eyes this whole video. And then when you put “we decided to keep the ceremony and our vows private” I balled… I am so glad you decided to keep those intimate and sacred between you two. Such a beautiful and sweet way to enter into marriage. I wish you both an absolute lifetime of happiness, love and friendship. 💐💍👰🏼🤵🏻
This is so sweet!! I feel like our relationship is pretty private and I've always liked it that way because I put so much of my life on the Internet so I knew that there was a lot of our wedding day that I wanted to keep private (you know this is a 13 minute video & our wedding day was quite literally almost 24 hours long) and I really glad we chose to do it that way since our ceremony was the main reason we didn't wanna have a traditional wedding! 🤍✨ feels really special to have the video from our ceremony for us to look back on and to be able to share that private moment with our friends!

Just wanted to share some little sneak peaks of our wedding day🥰 I actually had over two hours of footage to go through so there's actually a lot of our day that we kept to ourselves but I wanted to share some highlights with all of you!!!

Seriously so stunning!!!!! Congrats to you and Matt! My husband and I also eloped and then later had our “people wedding” (lol) with our family and friends, and it was truly the best decision ever. We were so totally present with each other all day and zero stress, plus it made our celebration with family and friends less stressful because we already had beautiful wedding memories and there was less pressure. Totally agreed that cost-wise, weddings have gotten out of control and it doesn't need to be elaborate to be beautiful 🥰
Love this! We are having a reception with our family & friends later this summer and feel like there won't be as much stress because we already had such a beautiful wedding day!

Beautiful vlog! I’m just so happy for you! My husband and I eloped! It the best decision we ever made. We chose Maui because my mom died before she ever made it there. aw so sweet I loved this! So chill but full of love. I wanted to ask about immediate family? I can't imagine getting married without my parents though..but the idea of such a chill wedding is so nice
I think weddings/eloping are so personal that what works for one person may not work for another and that's okay. It was just a really personal choice for us. Of course you need witnesses to elope and we just preferred having 2 close friends because we couldn't invite one set of parents as witnesses without inviting the others and then it adds up quick.
I've just always felt weird about my parents being there honestly. My relationship is between Matthew and myself and it has always felt a little weird to have our parents watch us vow our lives to each other. No one needs to be there except him and I. It feels extremely personal and intimate to vow my life to partner and keeping that between us two always felt right. My parents eloped just the two of them so they understood us wanting to do that as well. I'm very close with my parents but I didn't want to worry about the dynamic shifting making sure everyone was having fun, having a good time etc. I didn't want to feel responsible and worry about other people on a day where it is all about us and our love. I didn't want to spend my wedding day managing other people's feelings and expectations!
We also are having a "wedding reception" later this summer to celebrate with all of our family and friends. Our families all respected our decision ❤️

Not sure if you're going to traditional wedding route or eloping because I think the answer varies depending on what you do! But my only tip is to just enjoy every second of it and soak up all the memories and take lots of photos. Because your wedding day, and the days leading up to it, go by in the blink of an eye.🤍✨

Nope! Our FL marriage license registers here in Ontario, we're officially married here too! But definitely depends on the state/country. I'm not changing my name so I don't really need our marriage license for much 🤣

Watching this on my own 21st wedding anniversary and it's bringing back all the feels. 🥹You can tell every moment of that day that you were both so ready to do it your way and each detail was stunning and full of love. You talked about it in your other videos and I think we all tried to picture what this one would feel like, but it's beyond words.
