Blue was written for Patsy Cline but she died in a accident and never sang it , the composer put the song away and said nobody could sing it, then one day he heard LeAnn Rimes sing in a talent contest at the age of 13 . he was so impressed that he got the song out of his safe and had LeAnn Rimes sing it. It is so much like Patsy so incredible.
Picked another great one; I remember when this first came out; impossible not to think of Patsy Cline; Leann did such a beautiful job on this song, and she was literally just a child. ❤️
LeAnn Rimes is still the youngest solo artist to win a Grammy at 14 years old!
So glad you did this one! She is yodeling, J. She was 13 when this came out in 1996. The song was written for Patsy Cline but she died before she could record it.
😢Taylor Swift only wishes she had this much talent.
Leeann disappeared when she stole a rock star husband who was married to a super model. She was 13/14 when she corded this.
She is the living reincarnation of Patsy Cline.
I believe she was only 13 yrs old when she recorded this song. Unbelievable talent.
Yes Jordan, that’s called a Yodel. I’m sure you’ve heard “How Do I Live” somewhere but if you haven’t then it should be next.
She was only 13 years old when she released this song. Released 1996.
It's yodelling! Her emotion and technicality are amazing. Smoother than silk and stronger than a shot of bourbon. ❤
She's amazing isn't she?
This song was written for Patsy Cline but she died in a plane crash before she could record it. They knew it needed the perfect voice so they saved it. Along comes hope 14 year old LeAnn Rimes end it couldn’t be sung by anybody else. She is an incredible yodeler!
Leann Rimes sings in perfect pitch. She has an angelic voice. A special talent!
So HAPPY and EXCITED about this choice!!! She has an AMAZING voice and she was like 13 when she did this!!
It's called a "cry." LeeAnn Rimes was one of the most underrated ARTISTS of the 90s!
LEANN WON HER FIRST GRAMMY AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 14 YRS OLD. GOD BLESSED HER WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.
Great song, thanks. Her sound is much like Patsy Cline, who you have reviewed. Another artist that can hit that “yodel”, is Crystal Gale. Try listening to her hit “Don’t it Make My Brown Eyes Blue”.
I worked with her during this time in her career...she came to the label and sang in our lobby and it was amazing!!! This came out in 1996. You'll have to listen to the song "How Do I Live", also performed by Trisha Yearwood...we went to battle on the music charts with it. She recorded it for the movie "Con Air" and both were nominated for a grammy. It ultimately went to Trisha because LeAnn was "too young" to be a contender. We were so disappointed. PS: Love watching your reaction videos...you are both so joyful!!
When She came out with this song it was an INSTANT hit. Reminded everyone of Patsy Cline, who was to record this song but passed away before she could do it. Even as a 13 year old, she was touted as having that old soul feel to her voice.
