The gift at 19:00 is a vase for a flower bulb. You fill it with water just so it’s slightly touching the bottom of the bulb and it’ll start to grow roots that are visible through the glass vase :)
I came on here to say the same. Put a hyacinth bulb in it and fill up with water no soil needed.

Me too, you need to but hyacinth in there and stick it in a dark cupboard until the end of January when it will be ready to come out and fill your room with scent.

Also works for soft toys, popnin a freezer bag ot plastic bag and freeze.
@@NANov5 I would assume so. I'd put the pieces in a plastic baggie, zip it up and pop it in the coldest part of the freezer for a few days. Me, I hate pest; I'd leave it in there for a week. 1 week and anything would be frozen stiff dead🤭😆

Nice to see the pub book getting a resurgence and you both getting enjoyment from the book, with its little bits of history.

Wow Mr C. I've just popped straight over from Luke's vlog. You two really are a joy to watch and a great run up to Christmas. Love the gifts you found each other and I knew Luke would be getting that bauble Lol. It's lovely to be taken round London with you two at any time of year but especially at Christmas. I don't drink but I love dessert and tea/coffee so I would probably do a crawl on those. I lived the mugs color and would paint a room in that. You two are AWESOME!!!!! Blessings
That green glass - My grand mother had something similar - Im betting is for a Hyacinth bulb. Bulb sits at the top and the roots go down the tube.

Loved the pub crawl. I agree with BrightEyes I would grow a hyacinth bulb in the glass vase at Christmas time. I joined you two with some white wine. Your choice of gifts was great..

The last gift is a vase for a hyacinth bulb. Fill it with water in the narrow part and pop the bulb on the top so that the water just touches the bottom of the bulb. The roots will grow into the water! Hopefully you will have a beautiful flower on top xx

Those picture Frames are gorgeous! What a find for a lovely gift. The plant pot was also fab. The “ How to kill your…” was a find in new condition! And these pubs have so much history in them, it’s just amazing! The green fluted glass candle holder or vase was quite unique. Thanks for the pub crawl! Very scenic. I love this video, very Christmassy! The vase at the end is a hyacinth bulb vase, I have quite a few vintage/antique ones and they’re lovely at this time of year. Merry Christmas!
London is very much like Yorkshire with a pub in every corner. I’m hoping to visit London next year and planning a pub crawl too after watching a yt video 😊

Hi Mr. C! How fun to do a pub crawl especially during the holidays. I thought for sure you both would be tipsy afterwards because that would have been really entertaining, but you held your alcohol well. I wish I was with you on your pub journey. The odd-looking decorations in the window that appeared more as an appendage, I believe, are sets of ballet slippers. So happy to see the two of you enjoying the holidays and a wonderful friendship.
I know when you're cold you are dying to be warm; but I'm way too hot today & looking at you two rugged up in the cold is very tantalising. All looks amazing, the lights are beautiful and every pub is gorgeous, those pressed tin ceilings and beautiful ceiling roses!

Your vase tealight holder might actually be a hyacinth vase the top part holds the bulb and the roots grow down into the longer section below. You gave me a good smile today thank you and happy christmas when it comed

Woke early so I’m watching you both on your pub crawl and present opening, isn’t it nice when folk make an effort to know what you like and enjoy instead of just wrapping something up that you can’t use or eat , I would love all my gifts come from charity shops if it’s something I really like , no need for expensive gifs, a lot of unused gifts too in charity shops, prob what folk been given with no thought, enjoyed watching you both, happy Xmas.

Loved the tour. Went to our first pub in London (on our first visit to England) several years ago. Still remember the amazing food, ambience and prices.

Oh my gosh, what a fun video! I love it when you and Luke are together you have such great energy, the two of you! This reminds me of my old roommate in college and myself, who would get together every Christmas and exchange gifts and go to a Bar or two
The last gift may be a hyacinth vase . You put some water in it & a dry hyacinth bulb in the top. The roots develop & grow down to reach the water . Eventually it flowers .
I always enjoy watching you and Luke walking around London - especially this time of year - it reminds me of my uni days!

Glass present is for growing a flower bulb in. Water in the bottom and bulb in the top.

Have just watched Luke's vlog and now watching yours, so many memories of coming up to London from Sussex in the late 60s early 70s when a student nurse. The area was buzzing. The green glass present used to be used for growing a hyacinth you put water in the base then placed the bulb on top. Memories of my mum doing this. Have a great Christmas thanks for fantastic blogs.

So much fun when you and Luke are out and about together, Mr. C -- especially the bits at the end! When I was in London mid-November, I was so happy to see the city already decked out in Christmas finery. And now I'm happy to see that even a Londoner can get turned around on the streets -- I was quite discombobulated in the Oxford Circus area one night, even with my phone, but it ended well. My very best wishes for Happy Christmas and all good things in 2023!❤🎄
Oh I loved this! Wow though...those London prices...I live in the north of England and it is like another world down there in London...so opulent and obviously plenty of money around- I'm afraid it is a stark contrast to where I live. On another matter the last gift is I think, meant to put a bulb in with water in the narrower bottom, for example a hyacinth bulb...try it nd you will see that such a bulb will grow very happily and flower in that kind of vase.
Was that a pub crawl disguised as a pub tour , I think four pubs to visit was just about right. It looks like you both had a great time.

I do like popping in the pubs on my visits to London whilst sightseeing and shopping.
I always have a drink or two in the Argyle Arms, either ales like Fullers London Pride, Adnams Ghost Ship and lagers like Peroni. I have a drink or two in the Flying Horse on the opposite end of Oxford Street across from Tottenham Court Road Tube Station. It has a long bar and a stain glass style roof / celling at the opposite end to the entrance. There are others I like including the Three Grey Hounds on Greek Street. Love the wood paneling in pubs. Sis & I ate at the Celtic Fox 🦊 the other night. It's a local Irish pub. You two are a joy always. A blessed Christmas & New years to you both!

Absolutely love this video. The Dover Castle used to be the pub I go to with my old workmates as it’s located one building along New Cavendish Street and it was always never busy and we used to have a cheeky gossip in there. Fab places and great presents too. As soon as you get more into Central London it gets so much more pricey. The cheapest drinks my husband and I can get is in New Malden at the railway station - a beer and a vodka mix is around £6.50/£7 - which for London-ish prices is pretty good (Zone 3) Have a fab Christmas to both of you! 🎄

Love this vlog, you two crack me up when you are out together you are both so funny. You took me down memory lane with your walk I used to work just of Oxford Circus and our staff canteen was in Great Portman Street it has changed a lot since the 60's as you can imagine. So glad you had a great time together.

If you ever get the chance, go to The Champion on the corner of Eastcastle Street and Wells Street. It has stained glass to die for. I was there with my choir in November after singing in the Welsh Church of Central London, further up Eastcastle Street. We did some impromptu singing in the pub (in Welsh, of course).
