  • The Wait is Over! Pakistan Explorer finally has the permission from our European Film Distributors for a World Digital Premier of the internationally acclaimed documentary “Tomasz Mackiewicz (1973-2018)”.
While we apologize for the unforeseen delay in the digital release, we are super stoked to showcase the climbing philosophy and the obsession for Nanga Parbat, of our dear departed Tomek Mackiewicz.
This is a chronological compilation of how the events unfolded during one of the most viral mountain rescue operations in the history of high altitude alpinism.
We would also like to pay our gratitude to all the friends and family members who collaborated and supported us in the making of this tribute to one of the eccentric yet most inspiring climbers of contemporary times.
The list goes on yet the most noteworthy contributors include ANu Solska-Mackiewicz for her support, approval and encouragement, Syed Fakhar Abbas for his altruistic vision and support, Polish Embassy for their love and encouragement, Ladek Mountain Film Festival for their recognition and lastly our great friend Tomek who has left us with hauntingly beautiful memories at so many times and places.
May you find Peace within and without!

Bring the body and give it to the family. A monument is one thing, a wandering soul is another. This will bring relief to the family and children will visit the burial place.

Worthy biographies are where the interest remains, after we see that Everest has been sullied by commercialization, and mountaineering dumbed down into something anyone with enough money, pride and boredom with life can achieve.
Perhaps tell us more about people for whom an achievement will cost them, on balance, everything else in their lives...

Terrible translation and bunch of made up stories. More than 4,000 people have climbed Mount Everest, but fewer than 200 have done so without oxygen. It's a big deal and a greater sense of accomplishment to reach the summit without oxygen it has nothing to do with the lack of resources!
This guy has no idea what he's talking about.
Logan - 5959 meters Khan Tengri - 7010 meters among other mountains so to say he had no experience is nonsense.
Yes he was self taught climber but that's even more of the reason I respect the guy.
Nothing beats that feeling of figuring out and completing it yourself.
When he says that Nanga was an escape for Tomek because of the hard life he's having home this is another BS translation. What he meant was that many people climb high mountains for many different reasons some do it to escape from the everyday life.
Lastly the reporter says they didn't take enough time for the acclimatization where the French climber in the interview said they have had enough acclimatization for the winter time.
In 2007 Revol went on her first expedition to Nepal. In 2008, she made a solo ascent of the three Himalayan mountains Broad Peak - Gasherbrum I - Gasherbrum II - within a 16-day period and without the aid of oxygen among others
She is an experience high altitude climber btw.
Long story short this kind of climbing is very risky people know it they still do it and some will die
