- The new project is here! The Audi S5 4.2 V8 . It needs a lot of work but i cannot wait to start to repair and modify the new beast! Im pretty sure it is the cheapest in the country right now. Let me know if you guys know any common problems or issues i should look out for.
The BMW 1 Series is still very much on going but its nice to have 2 projects alongside each other.

The thing is with AUDI they make cars that was made over 10 years ago look current.
This model of A5 is still very good looking. Better than all later models except maybe latest model/facelift. I have 2010 A5. It has 322k km but it is in very good condition. It seems a lot younger than it is. Also build quality is good. No problem with suspension, motor is great (2.7 diesel) ,except clutch and flywheel had to be replaced.
Yes timeless design, reminds me of all the 2011/12 apple products, which still look better than their current shit

I had S8 which I absolutely loved but sadly replaced it with a Tesla Model X

Good Choice! I had an S5 and it’s an awesome car. Even with a modified stock exhaust it sounds so amazing! And, you already have the LED rear lights from the Sports Package!

I was looking at one of these as a weekend toy/project. Great cars for the money. Facelift front end is what I would go for, with carbon clean and supercharger kit (if money was no object)

Subscribed after seeing this video ! I am an s5 owner myself and I’m sure you will love this car once you get to really know it, especially after playing w/ exhaust. Common issues are definitely aimed towards the FSI fuel system - HPFP, carbon building on the intake tracks, and then coil and plugs really. GOOD LUCK !

Door unlock thing might be a setting on the key, to either unlock all doors or unlock drivers door only (which would leave passenger side locked).

im excited to see this, i have an audi a5 2009 and im thrilled to see ehat you're gonna do with it, also the passenger door nit opening from the outside is a very common thing with the audi a5s, even my car had this problem, but it does open sometimes from the outside from the first time

The door handle problem is very common. Mine plays up sometimes but only in the winter, it has something to do with water getting into the door and locking up the spring. Pulling the door handle out and spraying some lithium grease between the handle and lock and pulling back and forth should help till the next winter

Got a B8 Rs4 avant, only thing i'd say is get the motor carbon cleaned. It will restore alot of lost power if it's built up

I just bought one of the cheapest Mercedes V8 Bi-Turbo in Germany. Might be interesting for you as well :D The S5 is awesome by the way! My favorite Audi Coupe! Besides the RS5 of course.

I had the same doorlock problem with my ex-a5, (quite common with the coupes) just save your time and get a new door lock module, its 200-300€ and takes bout an hour to change it.

The doors are quick fix that happens on my s5 sometimes all you need to do is go into settings on the radio and got to central locking turn the single door option off and back on, that should do the trick🤷🏽♂️

@@WH4TH3F0X wow is that actually the figures? I'm thinking of getting one this year though newer than this, but V8 over the V6 due to the awesome sound.... But I don't know if sound alone can warrant those figures haha
awesomeANDROID1 I own an RS5 and I usually see 12-16 mpg around town. The sound is well worth those figures though, hurts a little every time you fill up as I get less than 200 miles out of a tank, but then when you put your foot down you quickly forget about the hole it just burnt in your pocket 😂 The most I’ve got out of it was 30.6 mpg on the motorway @65mph, a figure I’m very proud of lol! Sticking your foot down around town or some back roads and you’ll see around 7-8mpg, but who buys a car like this to care about that 😉

J W To an everyday driver with an average car they are Very quick. To a fast hot hatch driver they are seen as a brisk cruiser. The on paper stats are still decent for a big heavy V8.
Rims, 250mm tyres, lowered a lil ofc , headlights, wrappe, front and rear bumpers and exhaust pipes + exhaust system, little by little you will get it bro !
Doesn't help with 250mm tyres I have 255mm on my Audi a5 and it still looks bad I have 255/30/19

Had the exact same issue with the door-lock on my A5, was just the doorlock-actuator that needs to be replaced ... you can find new ones on ebay for £40 (not OEM), easy to replace once you get the door-card off
J.F.E mines failed but I’ve just got the cables. Cost £10 each. Cos I can feel it’s not engaging the cable

RealGX yeah all of them look beautiful. But the b8.5 facelift looks more updated and aggressive.

Bit of a heads up, the HPFPs on these commonly fail, so if there seems to be a fuelling issue or lack of power I'd start there then look into carbon build up on valves.

I've got the same in white. it's got the rs5 front bumber and rear and exhaust it looks mint with the right splitter. a lot of work mate. good choice sir very interested. especially performance wise.
gonna be tricky to get an aftermarket exhaust that matches the rs rear bumber I'm sure your find away I've got the rs rear mufflers to match. would love to see if you feel the difference after a stage 1 remap and if it impacts the gear ratios for a quicker driving experience.

Had Audi A5 sportback 2015 black edition ( white with black wheels / mirrors ), lovely car. Re. The tyres / wheels not fitting wheel arch nicely, most likely its clearance for snow chains or heavy load package constraints..Ford Puma looked terrible for this and that was the snow chains..luckily you don't have manufacturers constraints to worry about..good luck with fixing it up.

@Mat Armstrong To fix the lock take the door card off the door, drill a 2mm hole in the top corner of the door lock/servo case and spray a few squirts of WD40 into it. Leave it overnight and it’ll be working again. Done this a few times and works every time! 100%!!

He should just make it 700hp+. That way, the auto is pretty usefull.
